Got stuck on the lift hill on the corkscrew at Alton Towers for 20 mins.

Nick “For 20mins in the rain, Which was nice” Collins

LOL

I remember that day Nick,

It was not raining when got into the train, it only started to rain just as we stopped on the lift hill. We did not get too wet - I dont think, but the ride op who came up to us, had a umbrella and keeping himself dry - cheers !

A couple of the more memorable 'breakdowns' are:

Last year on the opening day at Alton Towers, and also at the end of the day. We were getting our last ride of Oblivlion for the day. We got in our seat etc.and went up the lift hill as normal. We moved onto the tyre transfer part - which moves the train to the holding brake. As we were doing this, we heard "bang - hiss - thud - bang" and the train stopped.

We stayed there for about 5 - 10 mins before a ride op came up to us & we were told they had to reset the ride - 5 mins later we got moving again. Instead of a 45 second ride we had a 15 min 45 second ride We had good view of the park from up there.

Back in 2003, at Thorpe Park, we had just had ride on Nemesis Inferno ( I think we were in the front row). Got back to the brakes and we could see the the other train in the station. We waited 5,10 mins - they got people out of there seats on the other train. We waited some 5,10 mins more, before we were told they had to release manually from our seats.

We got our ride on Nemesis Inferno and we got tickets to re-ride again via the exit.

One of our mate, even managed to get one of the ride ops to take a picture of us stuck on the ride 8)

Lets see on Indiana Jones the jeep thing came to a quick halt just before the actual fast part of the ride started. We were stuck in the jeep for only about 2 minutes before a ride op came and made us get off the ride. I was stuck on batman the ride at SFMM for about 10 minutes on the lift hill. The worst one was when we got stuck on The Riddler's Revenge at SFMM. We came back into the station after going on the ride. They couldn't get our restraints to open! We were stuck there for close to an hour. It was about 95 degrees in the station too! So we were a train full of sweaty pigs by the time we got off. But at least it had good music!

I got stuck on California Screamin @ DCA for an hour on the launch track. They had to walk us off. I also got stuck Winnie the Pooh. Some idiotic kid stood up and they evactuated the whole ride. You guys (and girls) should have seen the look on the kids face when their family got ejected from the park.

The only ride i was ever stuck on was Escape From Pompeii in BGW. After waiting in line for over an hour, I finally managed to get on the ride, then it stopped just as my boat started up the lifthill, barely even out of the station. They made evryone get off the ride because a gear had broken and it would talk a while to fix it. My boat was lucky because we could just walk off the ride. I just felt bad for the people who couldnt be evacuated from the boat that was literally teetering over the edge of the drop for four hours.

I was lucky enough to get stuck on TTD. Yeah, TTD. I pulled up to the go thingy then 200 Feet later the coaster got stuck. Then we went back to the station [/b]Ssssslllllooowwwy My favorite quote from that day "We got one mile an hour backward Luckily 30 seconds later I got to ride TTD(after 5 1/2 hours).

And here's another story of the ultimate Cedar Point fan's Cedar Point curses. Back in the good old days of 2002, I was in Soak City when the electricity went out! I was on a lazy river ride. Just as soon as a water fountain was about to squirt me with it's juicy essence the electricity went out. (FOR TWO HOURS!!). At least CP kept the park open till midnight.

Heh reminds me of when I was at Raging Waters on a field trip. I was about to get on Vortex, which is a helixing water slide, when the op told me to go. Of course then, the water in the entire park was stopped. They would later keep the park open later, but of course I was with my school, and I had to leave early.

Oh and another time. I was on Its A Small World Holiday with my family when our boat stopped at the Chinese part. Everyone knows how annoying that song could be stuck in there for an hour and fifteen minutes. To top it off I was right under strobe lights, which went off every 2 minutes. Turns out a boat of fat people bottomed out and they had to pump in much more.

I've been stuck on many coasters, though the most memorabe experience was being stuck on Hulk's final brake run in the back seat with another train going through the course. We weren't sure if it was gonna stop in the 3/4 course brake or not! (Thankfully it did.)

Once I was "stuck" riding a coaster with 2 friends for a tv shoot where there was a giant evil bird of doom building a nest at the top of Alpengeist's lift. Birdy left a nice giant stick in between the boxbeam and the rail and our train snapped it like a twig, with shards of splintered wood flying everywhere. We were told coming into the station to "act natural and ignore the stick next time around."

The only time I've been walked off a ride though was on Villain.

Most traumatic shutdown though was being stuck on WDWs Small World back when I was 8. I think we were on there for like 30 minutes or so, with the music on the whole time!

About 2 Years ago I got stuck on "THE BAT" at (PCW) Paramont Canada's Wonderland. It was not fun at all. The train got stuck just under one of the loops and some people where stuck upsidedown for 2 to 3 hours in on a hot summer day. Luck for me and my friends we where near the base of the track so we where ok. 8) "The Bat" at PCW is just like the Boomerange ride.

I remember that!! I wasn't at the park (I've never been there), but my cousins were there, and when they got back they told me about it. According to them, they saw it from the top of a waterslide or something lol.
