  1. It's not a bad thing at all. I rode it Friday for the second media day (which was pretty much ERT!) and I thought the same thing when they starting test running it at 5am and noticed that. Actually, because it doesn't face vertical during the first drop, it flings you over the edge and down, which produces much loved air-time! The front of the coaster is great for obvious reasons, but the back row gives you that lift on the drops and during the Immelman (IMO the seat closest to the gates in the back is the best)!
  2. Just stop on by! It always makes my day to meet fellow enthusiasts and talk coaster talk while working
  3. hhhmmmm.. worst themed ride... worst themed ride.... The first thing coming to mind is... I would have to say... Twister at Universal Studios Orlando. I swear I thought the "ride" itself was the pre-show and you would then be led to these jeeps that would take you storm chasing and all. Now that would be cool! I only rode it once along-long time ago (because I hated it so much and it's not worth waiting 1 minute for and wasting a valuable 5 mins of my life to stand through again), but from what I can remember, it was way too short and not intense at all. The special effects were so-so and the cow had strings. It could have had so much more potential.
  4. I hate choosing just one. can't forget about Millennium Force and Mindbender (SFOG) either... but I would have to say GA Cyclone is my fav right now (it chances among these 3 all the time) I love this picture. It's NOT my first time on the coaster and it still gets that reaction from me (I'm in the gray sweater)!... Can we say AIR-TIME?!?!? The on-ride photo camera is placed at the bottom of the best drop so it always gets the best out of y I love the GA Cyclone!
  5. Sea World - 5 miles Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure- 12 miles Walt Disney World- 10 miles Old Town- 6 miles
  6. I thought it looked very much like 4d coasters too. That was the first thing that came to mind............... and Oh my... I'll get on X because it's not NOT free spinning... This, I just don't know if I'd be able to do it. I'd want to. But spinning is my worst enemy. I'll be interested to see how this coaster turns out.
  7. Sweet. Looks like fun additions. It's always exciting to hear about parks adding something new for the upcoming season. The waterslide looks pretty cool too... I don't really do water rides, but that one might actually catch my attention.
  8. Um. Dueling Dragons at least once almost everyday. And, if you are talking about a number of times in a row... would have to be the Dania Beach Hurricane... at 18 consecutive rides , with ERT, thanks to the Florida Coaster Club! It was so fun! I didn't miss a single dispatch! Sweeeeeet
  9. Yeah. I get that a lot... Why are you traveling that far for just one coaster? Why do you work where you work (IOA-Dragons) if you have a BS and could be making so much more? Why do you do a *roller coaster* dance? Yes, I do a dance when I am really excited and about to ride something I've been waiting to ride. I dont dance, so it's scarey. But, I get hassled a lot. Espcecially by my family. Since I am the one who started this *hobby* in my family. They think going to parks and riding rides are fun, but they don't have it running in their blood like I do... maybe I'm adopted.
  10. Does work count? Because I test rode Fire Dragon twice today at work. Once in the morning before we went operational and then once again when we added from 2 to 4 trains at 11am... if it wasn't for test riding, I would have a different job
  11. Kumba. A guests rain poncho was on the track. Deja Vu Evacuation (Over GA)... whatta piece Fire Dragon (2 years BEFORE I worked there). and Gwazi... oh wait. That wasn't downtime. That was their horribly slow loading! LOL...
  12. As of right now, I like RCT2 the best. I have been having LOTS AND LOTS of problems with RCT3 and haven't really been able to play it much. Especially because it won't let me save and it makes me crazy when I spend 5 hours working on something and lose it. Anyway. I like things about RCT3, but RCT2 is my fav so far. We'll see what happens once I get this problem solved... which should be in 3-5 days!
  13. It took me until I was in 8th grade (94/95ish) to get on my first coaster. It was Kumba at BGT. After that, I knew I had a problem... a good, fun problem... But, I would have to say it wasn't until 1999, when I graduated from high school and was able to actually travel out of the *lovely* state of Florida, that I became a true entusiast. During this year, Islands of Adventure opened. I also took my first coaster trip out of state the following year to Ohio and hit PKI, CP, GL, SFGAdv, and SFoGA! By this time... it was pretty much the end of all *normal* life as I knew it. I officially became a coaster geek. LOL
  14. Hey. Lisa here. Some of my friends call me Lee. Um, well... I graduated with a BS in Psychology from the University of Florida last May and moved to Orlando where I now work at Islands of Adventure's Dueling Dragons as a ride op. I have an obsession, a passion for roller coasters and will never stop my quest for that one *perfect* ride...
  15. When I was in college I tried every different kind of beers as possible. I'm not that big of a beer drinker because it doesn't take much to knock me over, but it was still fun taste testing. My favorites would have to be Mich Lite and Amber Bock. The Capt'n and I are good friends too.
