Cedar Fair ride names suck.

I like how they painted a checkerboard on some concrete, made a few cornhole sets, trucked in some sand and called it a new attraction. It is nice to see them add something even if they are putting minimal investment into the park. I'm still hopeful the waterpark (the old seaworld side) will survive.

Based on the location of The Beach next to Liquid Lightning, it appears that the attraction is taking the place of the old water ski stadium.... in which case the sand was already on site!

I absolutely agree with your statement. They definitely paid so much amount of money in a moving company. So I think there is waste of time and money.

Yep, it's still standing. If you don't mind doing a bit of searching, I believe a Photo Trip Report was posted not to long ago of Wildwater Kingdom that had some shots of the area across the lake.

Eh, coasters and rides for sale on Ebay is nothing new.

Remember Blue Diamond Park? I found their coasters and a bunch of their other rides on Ebay.

I have a strange feeling, don't ask me why, that the person who listed this auction had his first kiss on the Big Dipper with his girlfriend who would later become his wife.

As disgusting as it is to see this ride just sit and rot it is pretty obvious no one wants the ride. This isn't the first time the owner has tried to sell the coaster.

It is disgusting, but just remember how it came to this.

I remember seeing Dick Knoebel at the auction looking over the rolling stock. If it wasn't for the Flying Turns I wonder if he would have been interested. It would have been a good fit for them.

CardCraze, you seem to know the soap opera all too well.

Who says that if you bought it that you'd have to move it? I am just saying that if someone wanted to buy it they could lease the land it sits on and just run it where it currently sits. Of course, that's with the ride being properly inspected and such. Roller coasters all over the United States opened up along side streets next to hot dog vendors, etc. back in the early 1900s and were privately ran just like the Coney Island Cyclone and Tornado (RIP).

One of my first coasters as a kid... Sigh. I hope against hope that someone will buy it and give it another lease on life. Would hate to see it and the Double Loop both go the way of the scrap heap.

The ride side of GL has been closed for 3 years, and will never see another park again. So I'm not sure what the point of selling the BD is.

So sad to not see this baby relocated. I rode it many times , during it's last season never realizing that it would be the end. Big soft padded seats made it very comfortable in the front. I hope someone saves her, but it already may be too late.
