I would love to see one go into Holiday World but at the moment they one have one steel coaster, the kiddie coaster in the HoliDog (or whatever his name is) area in the rear of the park. Other than that, all the coasters are wooden.

Dollywood would be my answer. I would love to see one of these things intertwined with Tennessee Tornado.

1. Holiday World

2. Beech Bend

3. Indiana Beach

4. Mt. Olympus

5. Coney Island (Cincy)

Honorable Mention Kentucky Kingdom

Yes, because, you know, a place like Beech Bend of Coney Island in Cincy have the type of budget to drop $15 million.

^Yeah. I dont even think Holiday World would throw down that amount of money let alone a tiny place like Beech Bend. It was surprising enough to see a park like that add a GCI. One of these would have been fitting for a place like Hersheypark, seeing as though they have added smallish versions of bigger coasters like Storm Runner and Fahrenheit. After putting both those in I would doubt you would see one there now but you never know.

Q: What park should have an Intamin Mega-Lite?

A: All parks should have an Intamin Mega-Lite!

But especially Islands of Adventure. Never gonna happen (Universal allegedly has issues with Intamin over Jaws at USF), but I think it would be a perfect counterbalance to all of IOA's B&M multiloopers.

But sure, Dollywood and Holiday World are fine choices, also.

Maybe Kawasemi was so expensive b/c it was built partial over water in Japan, I'd like to get the prices for the other 3 that's been built?

I'd love to see one at Knotts in Ghost town painted in like the piraten colors knowing CF they'd name it something cheesy like steel stampede or Wild West ghost train on ghost hill lol

With Holiday Worlds love of airtime even built into the water rides (wildebeast), I don't see how this couldn't be their first choice for a first steel coaster. Is there room in the Fourth of July area for a megalite named Cherry Bomb or Firecracker?

This was my first thought too! And in all seriousness, I hope Holiday World does not choose a mega lite for their first major steel installation. While awesome, mega-lites have a major focus on airtime which HW is not lacking in. They definitely need to put something with inversions in for their first major steelie. My vote is for a custom B&M inverted. Something terrain-based like Nemesis would rule. I can however, see them putting in a spinner before something with inversions. And as somebody else posted a here a long time ago, they also need a "jr woodie". It's a big (too big IMO) leap from The Howler to The Raven. Just my 2 cents.

Hershey since they are one of the few 10+ coaster parks not to have a hyper but capacity would be a major problem. I guess it would fit in with the other low capacity coasters like Fahrenheit and Roller Soaker

Hershey is really strapped for space, which is partially why they don't have a hyper. If they ever demolish Hersheypark Arena and Hersheypark Stadium, I could see it happen.

My vote for the first US park to get a mega-lite: Knott's. Preferably a custom layout like GeForce.

I think Knott's could use a mega-lite too. Since they don't have a large, traditional, steel, sit-down coaster with a lift hill, this would fill a void.

Silverwoood comes to mind. They also seem to have the budget to afford it.

Don't tease me like that.

In all seriousness, while I would love Silverwood to get an(other) "OMFG Amazing" ride, it seems many fans of the park would rather see them go a more "family" route, with something like a spinner and an expanded selection of flat rides.

While I know next to nothing about the logistics/practicality, I vote for any mid-sized park on the west coast! SFDK, CGA, KBF...

^My train of thought is similar, but who knows if that's even the void Knott's needs to fill from their standpoint.

Silverwood is a very interesting park to name, especially considering the amount of land that the owner has. I am not sure how much they are planning on expanding the park in the future, but there is certainly land available if they were willing to put in a mega-lite, and a few addtional attractions to compliment it.

^Very true. Just look at Storm Runner as a prime example.

I must say that a mega lite would look awfully good at SWO, to go along with that BGT terra coaster and BGW drop tower.

In all seriousness, I think Dollywood or SDC would a great candidate for a mega lite, based on size of park, park budget, and attendance.

I know somebody was joking that Wild Adventures should get one after going there for media day. After thinking about this, it wouldn't be a bad idea. For awhile they tried to get visitors by using the "9 coaster" advertising method, but after that failed (and getting a new owner) I think they've realized this won't do much for them. An airtime intense coaster would be great, because the park would be much more appealing to the teen/ young adult crowd. I know if I lived in Valdosta, I would rather drive the 5 or 6 hours to Six Flags rather than riding a medium sized wood coaster and a bunch of fair coasters. They need something that is visible from the highway though, so I'm not sure if a Mega-Lite would accomplish that.

I can't imagine GADV ever considering removing a large ride like Scream Machine for a puny Mega-lite. If any major theme park ever deserved a mega-lite, it would definitely be Dorney Park. The park never really gets too big of a crowd and Dorney has alot of room for expansion right now. The empty spot where Laser once was is the perfect place for a ride like Piraten or Kawasemi!

California's Great America. It's the one type of coaster they're sorely lacking - a long one! Come to think of it - ANY new coaster for that park would be good news.

BTW, anyone remember the "Rebel Rocket" rumor that kept flying around in 2002-2003? I'm still waiting for that to materialize, NOT!
