I'd love for it to actually wind up being decent. Right now everything in the park pretty much sucks except for Best of the West and Panda Express. Even compared to other Six Flags parks the food at Great Adventure is lacking.

I'm at the park right now and everything is running and El Toro's crew is slower than hell. It's been about 10 minutes for one train...also only one train.

Nitro is running great with all 3 trains.

I was at the park for a few hrs today. It was freezing. I hit up el toro when I first got to the park. El toro crew was brutal. They weren't even opening the air gates till the exit platform was clear. Very bad if that's how they are going to do it all season. I got a few rides on Ka, and couldn't take the cold anymore.

I rarely eat the typically park food (burgers, fries, chicken tenders or pizza) at the park. However, there are quite a few unique options in the Boardwalk area including the buffalo chicken mac and cheese bowl. I also personally love Nathans, especially the onion rings. And the turkey legs are always tasty, yet messy.

When I rode El Toro they were opening the air gates as soon as they unlocked the restraints

Same here, opening air gates right after unlocking restraints

Garden State Grill was pretty much the only place I got my meals at last season. The burgers there taste much better than at Best of the West.

La Cocina was one of the only places I'd actually eat at in the park to begin with. If they expand it into a dine-in I will definitely give it a try. And to whoever mentioned Turkey Legs before, I will splurge and get one every so often.

Yea, count me among those that thought La Cocina was good. I try not to eat the park food, but the taco and refried beans I had at La Cocina were definitely better than overfried chicken strips or a burnt hamburger.

I hope when I was there yesterday the weather made my body act up, I mean I did have a bad headache the night before, that lingered into the morning. I was getting motion sick on every ride. Granted it won't stop me, but I used to be able to marathon Batman The Ride, Nitro, El Toro and I didn't even want to go more than twice because I felt so sick.

^ For me, I stop drinking coffee several days before I ride coasters. The caffeine dehydrates me badly making my stomach act up on most rides. Also plenty of sleep.

Posted

I also was there Thursday and was not able to marathon the rides like I usually do. I was actually blacking out on the first hills of el Toro and on the tophat of king da ka. Hopefully it was just because it was so cold out.

I've yet to encounter someone that is a fan of Green Lantern. Hopefully the park realizes their terrible mistake and puts GL on the chopping block. Or puts Bizarro on the chopping block and makes GL floorless. Wishful thinking either way...

Present!

Same here! Some people just can't face their fear.

^ I've both faced and stoop up to my fear, and all I got for my courage was terrible leg pain and my head boxed around on the restraints. Oh well, different strokes for different folks.

It's not my favorite coaster, nor is it my least favorite... But for a roller coaster, it is thrilling and has some nice forces... That being said, it is definitly not a marathoning coaster, but it serves it's purpose...making the skyline look cool and adding to the collection!

^^ The ride that stood there before Lantern, IMO, both made the skyline look cooler, and was a better part of the collection. But I agree, mostly. I have had rides on it where I thought "Hey this isn't so bad!" and I've ridden it and thought "I hate this piece of crap!". It isn't my least favourite at GAdv, either. I give that title to S:UF.

I don't know if it's gotten bad... I never have been to KK (going for the first time this summer #9days90coasters) but I think it's just lack luster... You can't believe that a bunch of coaster enthusiasts who got Kingda Ka, and El Toro n a row are going to be happy about getting an old stand up as their next addition... But I'm always happy to say we have one of the best line ups in the world, and look forward to seeing the next addition (which will also revitalize the west side of the park!

Here's another! I try to ride whenever I visit, as long as the line is manageable. One of my favorite parts of any ride in the park is the diving curve into the second corkscrew on GL.

There's no rational argument for why Green Lantern was not a good replacement for GASM.

While I have not been to SFKK, I don't think that Green Lantern is a bad coaster, its way better than its sister Mantis (when it was Mantis not when its Rougarou) and i consider it the best stand up I have ridden (others being Mantis, Le Cobra, and Shockwave). That being said its lack luster compared to Nitro, El Toro, Batman the Ride, Kingda Ka, and Bizarro.
