Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread

p. 777: Winterfest starts on November 29!

Recommended Posts

A vertical cable lift for a long train has already been done.

Deja Vu, anyone?

Deja Vu releases the train off the lift vertical though. It would be a different experience rather than pulling a 9-10 car train up and over. Unless the crown of the vertical lift was pretty spaced out.

The top pic shows what I would assume to be the bottom of the lift. It appears to be bent a roughly a 45 degree angle. it contains what one would assume to be a section to hook a ladder/staircase to. The middle pic shows what I presume to be the top of the lift, also containing those same ladder/staircase thingys. I highly doubt that would be associated with a vertical lift. The bottom pic which shows Farenheit's lift, that as stated earlier contains the spiral staircase to the inside. I just don't see this being a vertical lift.

Adjust your glasses mate.

You have to remember what is suggested is, A Giga Coaster with a vertical lift and not a beyond vertical drop coaster. So any "Fahrenheit doesn't have this" arguments are invalid, because this is a completely different coaster type, it even has different track ffs.

First we had people coming up with reasons why this was going to be a launch coaster even though it didn't look like it. Now we have people coming up with reasons why it could have a vertical lift... What random inane debate are we going to have next???

Ok stop now.

Quoted as a gentle reminder.

No more gravy-vodka-BBQ sauce (or any other kind of substance) splashdown jokes! This joke has been beaten, shot, poisoned, throttled, garotted, kicked, and stabbed to death earlier in this thread. Let's not tie its moldering corpse to the bumper of a car and drag it around again.

True True. I just felt like giving it cancer.

Thank God for you Chuck. All it takes is one of those over-played comments and the rest of the kids come out of the woods to ruin a thread.

^A wise attitude, as excess speculation can cause the human brain to implode, which could open a vortex leading to back to the day that all these feverish speculations began. The resulting time loop would keep taking us back to the beginning, meaning that the ride will never be built and the speculations will go on forever.

Or I could be totally wrong.

I tried to enlarge one of the photos from the Eiffel Tower.

Thanks for that, looks more like about 60° then 90° to me

I agree, possibly even less than 60. Definitely not vertical, as the teaser video has now confirmed.
