chad5871
More double spined track arrived today. Pictures are at KDFansite in the gallery (link). It's strange how every track piece that has arrive so far is straight - I don't think we've seen a single curved piece of track yet. Especially considering the curvy orientation of the footers poured so far, it seems odd. Of course I'm sure there is MUCH more track on the way, it just seems strange for them to deliver all of the straight pieces first.
Thom25
At least half of the pieces on-site are curved as seen on that link. Look at pic 167 and both the foreground track piece and multiple pieces on the left are all slightly curved. Due to the speed of this ride, curves will be mulitple pieces. chad5871
That's true - I guess I didn't look closely enough. The curve of these pieces delivered so far is very very slight.
Thom25
No worries. YUP - slight curves means HIGH speed - psyched !
ethans_dad06
Also you have to remember that these track sections are being shipped in containers, and those containers can't fit a track with an extreme curve in it I would imagine.
chad5871
^True indeed. I'm guessing track pieces with more extreme curves would have to be shipped on flatbed trucks, much like the lift hill pieces were.

GriffonFan09
Doesn't anyone wonder WHAT the layout is gonna be?! I'm really anxious trying to figure out if the drop and the rest will end up looking like Millennium Force at Cedar Point, but given the little area they have cleared I wonder how big this ride is gonna be. Given the fact that it looks and most likely will be a Giga ( ) I just wanna know what it's gonna look like. Any idea why it's got the same color scheme as Diamondback's lift too? It's somewhat identical but why would you make it look the same as another ride? That's really odd.... Can't wait for the release of the details. No one knows when that'll be though
atem122
With all that extra bracing on the track, this ride will probably need about 2 supports to hold it up
vacoaster
2 words .... Vertical Lift ... still a possibility in my mind

It's somewhat identical but why would you make it look the same as another ride? That's really odd.... Because 99% of visitors don't care about/will not notice the color scheme of a coaster in Ohio compared to this.
Ccron10
That looks like it's going to be one steep lift hill. I am kind of hesintent to say vertical lift hill, but that base piece does seem a tad close to it. The way the track looks, the curves will be big, but I don't see any curves except for the pre station and transfer track pieces.
eddie200330
Picture # 16 of 20 on the link above shows what looks like the apex of the lift. If it were to be vertical, wouldn't the ladder supports down the side be angled a lot less to make that accessible for inspections and evacs?? I sure as hell wouldn't want to climb straight up a ladder that was 300+ feet off the ground.
Mochtroid
I'm still going for the non-vertical lift, but that cable starter is very steep. Next time someone goes and snaps pictures, they really need to bring a protractor to measure the angles and something to zoom in on the labels, as evidenced in picture 17 day 45. I think they'll just say the same as the washers with a track number.
QueerRudie
From the looks of this thing, the lift is going to be -very- steep to begin with, but vertical, notsomuch. Simply put, it doesn't match what the HersheyPark Fahrenheit lift looks like- close, but no cigar on that one. Considering the size of the ground that they're working with (so far, based upon the 'plot' that's been dug up) it makes me think that what we're working with is something akin to a 'cross-breed' from Expediton Ge-Force and Millenium Force. (Hmmm... perhaps a 'working name' would be 'Expedition Millenium Force) The lift structures are fascinating, however, and look like the 'minimalist' structure style that's becoming vogue as of late. Think of the lift structure of Alpengeist, for example- very few 'columns' per se, but with a great design along the way. Mind you, Geist Almighty isn't nearly as 'tall' as this thing is projected to be (For those of you keeping a 'betting pool' I'm guessing that 405 isn't entirely out of the question with that steep a lift) but the idea sounds about the same to me. I'm also beginning to wonder when we'll begin to see 'curve' track for all those great straight but bent for drops/hills elements- as from what I've seen, they've not appeared as such yet. From the looks of the 'hole' I'm guessing there will be quite a few out there- which, for those of us who like PozG rides, will be a -real- treat. Oh well, we wait. And wait. And WAIT. (Here's hoping that they have a high-capacity system in mind for this thing- No three hour plus waits!)

Solid Gold
Both sides of the Up/Down will need to be near vertical for this ride to fit in the space it has available, if the lift runs parallel to Anaconda. From Station to bottom of drop Google Earth says Millennium Force takes up .12 miles of straight line distance. This ride will have about exactly that much to do a lift, drop, and turn towards and behind Rebel Yell(no room for a big hill after the first drop), whereas Millie only does a lift and drop (both pretty steep). In every facet, the area this ride has to work with based on the construction site is smaller than Millennium Force. Should be interesting to see how this works, since it's likely to be taller and faster, and Especially if it's longer. C'mon August 20th, this is pathetic. Satchboogie3
Very messed up, indeed. It looks like one track piece is fusing into another. Is that part of the cable housing under that track?
Mochtroid
^Yes, the housing is under the track. That would make it so, I think, that piece in question is for the first or second piece going down. Oh, and another point: When the coaster is up, and if there are no otsrs, I, for one, will not care about the lift angle. Edited to get out redundancies.
