phazan
So the cigar thread made me think to make this. Is anyone here really into coffee? I love coffee. I used to think it was all the same, till I started trying different kinds.. I think Sumatra is probably my favorite so far. What about you guys? Note- No ultra super-carmel-chocolate-vanilla 'n cream-machioto-whatever talk in here...Those drinks are more sugar than coffee! ;D
ginzo
I love coffee, but I do not drink it on a daily basis because it gives me the jitters. The best coffee I've had was in Rome at a cafe called Sant Eustachio. Utterly perfect cappuccino. Stateside, my favorite coffeehouse is Intelligentsia in Chicago. KPWoCkAxX
I'm not really into coffee... If I have some it has to be pretty weak with alot of sugar. It's just far too bitter for me. That's why I prefer a good ol' cup of tea. I love the smell of coffee though. Especially in the morning. As cliche as that may sound I do.
odene497
I love coffee. I greatly prefer iced over hot, and a little chocolate in there is nice. I love coffee Nips candies. Or any other coffee flavored thing. The best coffee I've had is some of the stuff we bought from a little family plantation in Kona, Hawai'i. jjune4991
I enjoy coffee. The best coffee I've had was Costa Rican coffee. It was ah-mazing, to say the least!
Nrthwnd
Shamed to admit it, but after years of avoiding Starbucks and drinking coffee anywhere but there.... I actually like and buy their instant coffee VIA! Get the 3-pack every week or so and that does me fine, along with my usual day's fillup of tea, heh heh. And omg I am starting to enjoy the dark roast version of VIA, too! I always thought it was fine and easy on my system with the medium roast. Times and tastes change, hmm? Even within yourself, lol. PKI Jizzman
I like some every now and then. I had some good Starbucks over the holidays, but me and my room mate make some coffee from Fresh Market every now and then. I can find some good stuff there from time to time. Moose
I am addicted to coffee. Coming from Rhode Island it's really not that much of a surprise: our state drink is Coffee Milk, and our arena is the Dunkin Donuts Center.
cobra_roll06
You can add me to list of coffee lovers/addicts. There's a great little cafe on my campus that sells a large cup of amazingly strong coffee for £1. I only discovered this place a few months ago and I think I have been every day ever since! testtrack321
I love coffee AND tea! My roomie has a Keurig machine, so I have a lot of Donut People Coffee. Mmmmm, infact I'm having a cup right now!
SharkTums
I don't like and have never liked any kind of coffee or coffee flavored drinks. No clue why, maybe just cause I'm picky and don't like much!
KevinM
If I started talking about how into coffee I am, I would go over the word limit. Instead, I'm just going to post a picture. It's nowhere near the best cappuccino you'll ever see, but... it's mine.
no_brain_er
I haven't actually tried straight-up coffee, but I'm about to be a college student, so I might as well try it. Can anyone suggest a good brand for a coffee newbie?
phazan
I haven't actually tried straight-up coffee, but I'm about to be a college student, so I might as well try it. Can anyone suggest a good brand for a coffee newbie? You might not like it at first. I started drinking coffee with sugar or ice cream or something when I was like 13. Then over the years it became a habit and I added less sugar to it, now I can't stand sugar. Idk if you drink beer or not, but if you like the taste of beer, you might like coffee a lot. thrillgeek
I like mochas and frappuccinos. Regular black coffee is pretty nasty to me. Oh and I like Starbucks but I think it's way overrated.
krazekiddd
I love coffee!! Seriously, if I don't have a cup, I feel miserable for the morning. I'm assuming that means I'm addicted. Oddly, I haven't coffee in two days. Yeah, I think that's my limit! Favorite coffee at the moment is Dunkin Donuts!

Of course I don't drink beer! As of right now, the taste is fine when it's hidden amongst fancy add-ins and toppings. The white chocolate mochas from Starbucks is godly. I'm just trying to ween myself off of the frilly semi-coffee and get to the good stuff. Actually, I might try what you did and drink it with cream and sugar, and just see what happens from there. holidayworld08
Occasionally I will drink mild brewed coffee but what I love is the Double Chocolate Chip Frappuccino!
mightypotato
As a Canadian, I am legally obligated to be addicted to Tim Hortons' double-double (2 cream, 2 sugar). I quite enjoy coffee, but rarely spring for the more upscale "gourmet" coffees available at a Starbucks or Second Cup. Usually, I just end up drinking the relatively gross coffee that is provided for free at work.
Kennyweird
I occasionally drink coffee. Not on a regular basis, though.
DenDen
I LOVE COFFEE! Coffee, espresso, caps, lattes, and machiottos. I'm VERY curious about "Blue Mountain Coffee" that a co-worker told me about last week. Told me it was awesomely good, but also awesomely expensive @ about $40 a pound! Anyone here ever drink it?
KevinM
^I peruse coffee forums and the like quite a bit, and I've never seen this "Blue Mountain" coffee referenced. That's not to say it's necessarily bad, but usually a coffee worthy of that kind of price tag makes a name for itself. The current most expensive coffee is of the Gesha varietal from Hacienda La Esmeralda in Panama. Certain lots of this Gesha have sold for over $100/pound unroasted! The bulk of it is sold at around $30/pound unroasted, but that is still incredibly high! Many roasters were asking for $100+ /pound for it roasted. I have never tried it, but I'm sure its... good. Worth the price, I doubt it. Instead of chasing some magical coffee at a ridiculous price, I work on getting the most out of "lesser" coffees. A great coffee, even $100/pound coffee means nothing if it's not fresh. A good grinder is imperative. Also one must mind the freshness of the roast. I've just begun to do my own roasting, and it's fantastic. Believe it or not, I do it in a popcorn popper, as shown in this coffeegeek article. Anyway, I'm dragging up a two-month dormant thread here but I could talk day and night about coffee. Here's another photo of my work: The most beautiful cappuccino I've ever poured. Not the best tasting though.
