mcjaco
For future reference, NEVER trade a HopDevil for ANYTHING, not even sexual favors from Heidi Klum (well, ok, that may be the one exception)! I've learned my lesson. Although this is the gentleman that introduced me to Fat Tire so, I thought I owed him one. One Hop Devil left, which I'm saving for tonight after my softball game. Then it's Expedition Beer Run this weekend.
DerekRx
Tonight its time to enjoy a really good beer. It may not be the right time for this, but I can't wait to drink it, so here goes! Really great stuff, nice alcohol finish Stone's Arrogant Bastard Ale
Rugged One
Dude, it's always the right time to have an Arrogant Bastard! Just think, only another month or so. Tonight, my cleaning out of the beer fridge continues, as I tried some new stuff courtesty of Adam. Next was the Abita Turbodog. This was just an OK brown ale. Very watery for a dark beer. I hadn't had this one since I was in New Orleans a couple of years ago. First up the Heavyweight Sticken Jab Alt Beer. Interesting take on the style. Very earthy taste to it from the hops. Very strong malt finish. I'm going to miss Heavyweight.
mcjaco
Woo hoo, we won our final softball game tonight. With that I celebrated with my last Hop Devil! Mmmmm.
DerekRx
So I'm sitting here in Philly, waiting for my plane to take me to Orlando, only to discover its 3 hours delayed thanks to people not being able to figure out there are storms EVERY day in Florida between 2 and 5pm. So what else do I do but drink! Oh, I think you know! Hmmmm, which one will I get?? Yup, Independence Brew Pub So where do I go!?
CoasterFanatic
Just cleaning off the phone to get some of my beers of the week. Friday. Mom is town and it is time to try a couple more of Memphish's brews. First up was the New Belgium Abbey Ale Why do I feel like the last kid on the block to get the hot new toy. Oh well. Stay tuned for my other Vertical Photo TR on 12.12.12 Kicking it in the house last night with some Vertical 06.06.06 The Jon ... The Bon ... The Jovi Welcome to Peanut Heaven! Here I am in the "500 Club" drinking some sort of crappy swill. Nickelback hits the stage, but most are still drinking in the lot. Wow. The Kicker dude is pretty popular. Sunday, we headed to the Stadium for The Jon, The Bon, and The Jovi. Tailgating require a fine piece of swill like this Miller Lite. The next night is was time to grab one of MCJACO's faves. PhishyBrewer
I'm drinking hot tea right now. But this isn't just any tea... it's tea picked by monkeys. I'm not making this shit up.
CoasterFanatic
Catrina and I decided this morning that we would head to Geauga for the Starlight admission. Well, since we were in the neighborhood ... you gotta eat ... right? Welcome the Great Lakes Brewing Co. Grabbed a Braut and some Pierogies. BTW, people ... this is what pierogies look like. Yuck. Water. Won't be needed that just yet. Stopped into the Restaraunt (across the street) and grabbed a sampler. Unfortunately, Holy Moses wasn't available. How? Don't they make the stuff right across the street! We all know what the real deal though. A small sample of some of Great Lake's fine labels. mcjaco
^ Cool! When we were out there last month I was given a choice, Great Lakes or Geauga Lake. I choose ten credits. Next time, I guess!

Coaster Palooza
That Steelers' celebration looked great! I wish I could have seen that. Roethlisberger is also throwing the ball in camp already. I can't believe he is coming along so fast. I'm looking forward to being at Heinz field in 3 weeks! Just to make sure we stay on the topic! I know it isn't in my hand, but I was drinking a Sam Adams Summer Ale.
DerekRx
Some goodness from the weekend. I left off stuck at the airport on Friday, enjoying a HopDevil while I waited for my flight. The flight was delayed 3 hours, so I got to try another bar! Hooray! OK, if you have Blue Moon I guess I'll go with that D'oh! Out of that too! (same thing with Sam Adams Summer Ale) Ok, we'll go with Anchor Steam! But sadly they were out Including HopDevil, woohoo! See?! Jet Rock, located in pretty much every terminal in Philly, but this one had a lot of taps!
DerekRx
Sunday found me at WallyWorld, err SeaWorld, which of course has free beer, so I drank it. Not too bad! Best beer I ever had from Hawaii Back at the Polynesian Resort, I kicked back a Kona Fire Rock Pale Ale with lunch Not sure why they call it World Lager. Maybe its been on a trip around the world, but if it was supposed to be a gift to the world for peace or something, no wonder there's war! Shortly thereafter, the Anheuser World Lager Not bad for AB. Still kinda watery but it was drinkable, and free! First up, the Beach Bum Blonde Shortly after it opened, I was there
Rugged One
Well being the last day of the month and technically the last day I could do it, I decided to have a Christmas in July theme for the beer drinking tonight. I of course had to finish up with some Troegs Mad Elf. Mmmm, cherries. First up, a vintage bottle of Bethlehem Brew Works Rudolph's Reserve courtesty of Tom. DerekRx
Tonights brews, to celebrate summer or just because I like to drink (I don't need a reason!): Still satisfying Next, the old 'Head It should stay limited, not very wheaty, more watery Started out with the Saranac Hefeweizen, a limited edition
Canadmos
I went camping last week and enjoyed a few different brews. I took these pictures before my camera had a shitfit and decided to implode on itself. Not pictured was some Fat Tire, Skinny Dip and Moose Drewl. My front row seat This is the best picture I could get, but I'm currently enjoying some Thunderhead that I finally found at an awesome liquor store in Denver. oh and I've been meaning to ask for a while, but whats up with thesecondset? PhishyBrewer
oh and I've been meaning to ask for a while, but whats up with thesecondset? It's still alive, just not kicking very much. Mike(memphish) has been busy with his summer job, and with me I've been busy just trying to get the house is order. Take today for instance; After I check my e-mail I'm off to trim more of the trees in the back yard and other yard work. And I just got off of work at 7am. I also need to paint outside before the rains come in October. I'm ripping out my deck and replacing it with paver stones. That's just this week. http://www.brainville.org
BeemerBoy
Last beer? Hmm, no pics, but I'm sure it was something the experts would laugh at though. But hey, it was in celebration of soldiers returning home....what was I gonna do, tell them the beer sucked? Anyway, not much of a big beer drinker anymore. I lead a simpler life now....the partying days of south florida are behind me now, but I still know how to enjoy some fine brews when I'm out somewhere with friends. I've got a question for the experts (should I use that term loosely?). Back when I was more interested in the micros, etc., Anchor Steam lead the way for me, but a close second (although not exaclty a micro, I guess), was Cerveza Imperial from Costa Rica. I discovered it while honeymooning there, and occasionally found it in places when I got back home. How does it rate with you guys? Just curious. FlyerACE1
Been some time since I posted here so here's a brief update so everyone knows I'm still alive. Check it out... I liked this one, even though the unfiltered stuff freaked me out a bit. Brought this one outside (before the heat wave). Check out all the unfiltered indian pale aley goodness! Kick ass! FlyerACE1
I'll give you the most recent update. Had this one back on Saturday. A very poor excuse for a Heath face. I absolutely LOVED this brew! Great Pale Ale bitterness early and as the brew warmed, a very prominent rye taste. Excellent! I really enjoy this style. Yet another beer courtesy of Heath, the Terrapin Rye Pale Ale.
