alpengeist04 Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 Thanks for the link. Wow, that Immelmann looks huge.
TexTitan01 Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Dear lord this thing is HUGE! That Immelmann looks like its going to be insane! I wonder how long itll take for them to complete the track. I hadnt heard much since the top-off, but it's good to know they're still working on it. Thanks for the link!
NitroRider Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 That loop is MASSIVE! but doesn't really compare to the lift hill. I seriously can't wait for this anymore.
fergusonat Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 Griffon should definitely be an amazing installation at BGE next year! That Immelman looks beautiful. BGEscape will be attending the next hardhat tour this month sometime, so we'll definitely have some nice pictures of what they have up so far!
matteocrepaldi Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 Nice link. That thing is HUGE! I wish it was a little bit closer to where I live. Can't wait to see more construction updates like that one!
thomas2 Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 Whoah it's huge I never expected it to be that big. It looks fantastic. Too bad it isn't installed in Europe though...
dr.gumbo Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 ^^Funny that cause when I first saw the thread here I saw the words Dive machine and europe and my first thought was yay another Dive machine but I then read the rest and well... Stupid Busch Gardens Europe BTW it looks awfully simular to sheikra at the moment exept being slightly simular
Alexander Nagel Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 Man look how close the Immelman is to the Cable Cars! Gonna make for some awesome photos, maybe even better than Great Bear and there Skyride.
pkdcoaster Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 I rode by on the train the other day 1-4-06 (sorry forgot my camera) and it just dominates BGE skyline now. It just dwarfs Alpengeist from my angle, It is very impressive looking. The Immelman was complete but still no work on the 1st drop. I will try to remember my camera next time JEFF
apolloman Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 New photos were updated today. I am pissing my pants http://www.buschgardensnews.com/061211_Griffon_Construction_Web/default.html
Satoshi Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 1st drop's really gonna make me want to scream out loud and i felt it was like i'm gonna get kicked my heart. looks like it's bit taller than Sheikra because of uneven land like Holiday World.
mister myagi Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 I really gonna enjoy this ride on my next coaster trip. Looks great!!!
fergusonat Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 Yes, a member on the BGEscape forums that has consistently been getting us small photo updates reported yesterday that the drop is indeed complete. He's proven to be a reliable source in the past, so I have no doubt his report is true this time too! We'll be attending the hardhat tour which will likely be schedule sometime in the next few weeks, so you all can expect an extensive update from that event!
kissorkill2night Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 anyone know of a possible opening day for griffon?
cfc Posted January 14, 2007 Author Posted January 14, 2007 ^The last I heard was Memorial Day--back when the Daily Press started their Griffon update site.
crazyrider06 Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 Griffon is going to be opening up late spring. the construction for it is coming along quite well. if you are looking for new updated pictures buschgardens has posted new ones up on their site.
kissorkill2night Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 ^The last I heard was Memorial Day--back when the Daily Press started their Griffon update site....any day BUT memorial day PLEASE..its already going to be packed enough when it does open but adding on all the holiday tourist=NO GOOOOOD
fergusonat Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 Meh, at the rate they're going, this ride will be done before Memorial Day weekend. If the weather holds up (today it was close to 80 degrees!) then I'd say we're looking at a late April opening
NitroRider Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 Well if it opens on memorial day, I won't be there. I still get to ride at somepoint probably.
kissorkill2night Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 i'll probably make the trip down if i'm driving by opening day, I'll probably get the fun pass thing (its basicly a season pass for VA residents where you pay once and you can go like all summer or somthing) like i did last year
jimths08 Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 www.coastercravers.com/buschgardenseuro ... enter.html Aerial photos of Griffon. Photo credits go to speed4us at TN.
fergusonat Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 A hardhat tour is confirmed for late next week, you all can expect a thorough photo update from BGEscape. Stay tuned, we have some pretty amazing stuff up our sleeves for the next few months...
alpengeist04 Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 Thanks fergusonat, I'll keep an eye out for the update.
