gisco
I liked the movies but I didn't care for his books so much. At times the books read like a technical manual.
bert425
well, poo on a stick Marcial Wallace has passed. http://www.imdb.com/news/ni56352740/ makes, me so, so sad, as I remember watching her on "the Bob Newhart Show" and finding her to be the best part. of course, you young-uns know her as the voice of Mrs. Krabappel on the Simpsons (wonder if that's the character they were teasing killing off this season?. . they certainly knew her Cancer had aggressively returned). cal1br3tto
Yeah, sad news about Lou Reed. The Velvet Underground is one of my favorite bands, and I'm gradually getting into his solo work as well. To the curious, I'd recommend a greatest hits album first, such as "The Very Best of the Velvet Underground." That one had to grow on me, but now I think it's chock-full of amazing tunes. Their studio albums make it even more clear to me why this can be a difficult band to get into; it can take some time, but it's worth it!
Philrad71
^I agree...VU is definitely not a band for everyone, but they certainly kicked down some musical barriers during their hey-day despite not being popular on the billboards or on radio. beatle11
Really a shame about that one. He was on his way to a charity event and he wasn't even driving. One can hope he died on impact and not in the resulting fire. How ironic is it that he died in a car crash of all things.
_IntaMAN_
Yeah pretty sad, he was a pretty good actor and the Fast and Furious franchise is one of my favorites. R.I.P.

How ironic is it that he died in a car crash of all things. more ironic that no one believed it at first, as Walker was the subject of a "death" hoax earlier this week, and his publicist had just on Friday evening issued the statement that it wasn't true and he was alive and well. and then 8 hours later. . . . creepy. . . One can hope he died on impact and not in the resulting fire. How ironic is it that he died in a car crash of all things. It was actually after the event. One of my friends actually posted a picture she got with him from the event on her facebook just hours before the crash! He owned a car tuning shop in Santa Clarita. gisco
I'm pretty sure he died on impact. The pictures of the car show it pretty much wrapped around the tree hitting on the passenger side. So sad but why in the heck were they driving so fast?
FeelTheFORCE
^ Apparently they lost power steering, as the skid marks were perfectly straight (no ability to swerve), and there was evidence of fluid on the ground before the site, along with evidence of the fire starting in the front of a rear-engine car. You don't need to be going that fast in a car made almost entirely of carbon fiber to get those results. Any impact will likely cause the car to immediately crumple. jray21
Reports are out saying he survived initially, but died due to trauma and thermal injuries. It may mean that he had smoke in his lungs (that's usually the easiest way to know), so he could have been breathing. However, he could easily have been knocked unconscious or had some dying gasps. "Fast & Furious" star Paul Walker initially survived a horrific car crash but died moments later due to a combination of injuries from the impact and the resulting fire, according to a coroner's report. The one-page preliminary report released by the Los Angeles County coroner's office Wednesday listed the cause of the actor's death as the "combined effects of traumatic and thermal injuries." http://www.cnn.com/2013/12/04/showbiz/paul-walker-autopsy/index.html?hpt=hp_t1 Edited December 4, 2013 by jray21

Hoppy
I finally got around to watching Fast and Furious 6. They won't be the same without him. Well, good news is a good portion (if not all) of production with him in F&F 7 is done. Not sure how much they needed a double for... just like The Dark Knight. He was in a spot just like Heath ledger getting more publicity for good quality stuff recently and his life was taken many years ahead of time. From what I read they were only half way through production and were just on Thanksgiving break of filming. This is what James Wan was summoned quickly to Universal corporate office to discuss how to recover save the movie. At first I didn't care much about his death but the more I learn about Paul the more I realize he wasn't like other celebs. He was a very giving guy and thought of others a lot. I guess he was in the Philippines not too long ago volunteering to help with recovery efforts.
