Roachman Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 I have to ride it! Wow! When the park was looking for a ride it probably went something like this: Park: We'd like a Vekoma Boomerang but it's just too expensive. Random Coaster Contractor: We can bring it in under budget if we eliminate the loop and the boomerang.... Park: Done!!! Random Coaster Contractor: What if we eliminate any failsafes and get the ride to last longer... up to 14 minutes even... ? Park: Even Better!!!! I loved the break when we see KidTums having an awesome time on the train then it goes back to Elissa suffering for the credit. Elissa, which is worse the Spinning Mouse or the Spanish Death Shuttle? BINGO! -Brad
OldJJman Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Puke, S#it, Die. Puke, S#it, Die. Puke, S#it, Die! Awesome!!
Mr. Volcano Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 This is probably one of the weirder coasters I have seen! IAAPA had something a lot less short, high, and crazy one time. I can't remember the maker, but you sat back to back and it was floorless, and it went back and forth for awhile; only they had breaks on it, which stopped the random "back and forthness" which might be slightly disorienting, shew! -Justin
Moose Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Like everyone else, when I first saw this, it immedeately reminded me of Ramses. I feel for Elissa riding this, because I too got VERY ill from little old Ramses. I am glad you both made it out alright.
TheRapidsNerd Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 This was a neat shuttle coaster to see, and reminded me of a Fireball in a few ways. The commentary was a hoot! Truly one of the funniest things I've seen in some time. And 14 minutes for a ride cycle? Wow! Good stuff and enjoyed it!
ChrisZer0 Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Wow Rob, let the language fly man... Ya gotta love the europeans, they dont believe in things like "personal injury". Too bad this country is too damn litgious when it comes to running a coaster in a light mist...
sfmmrules! Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 That doesn't look scary to me. I'd go on it. No coaster scares me!
AllenA07 Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Was that thing really 13 minutes long? I think I would last a few minutes on that before sharing my lunch with those around me.
Six Flags Enthuseast Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 I have to ride it! Wow! When the park was looking for a ride it probably went something like this: Park: We'd like a Vekoma Boomerang but it's just too expensive. Random Coaster Contractor: We can bring it in under budget if we eliminate the loop and the boomerang.... Park: Done!!! More like Schwarzkoph Shuttle, to me.
coasterdude5 Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 I gotta say, Spanish death shuttle ride looks pretty intense. They need to bring one of those over here. SFA needs a new coaster anyway.
Ewan Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Loks like a freaky ride but hey us guys in Europe are known for them. If anyone fancies having one of them check this out. http://www.usedrides.com/viewpicture.asp?expire=90&type=1&owner=0&search=1&off=0&page=3&ref=20760&sessionint=True
Wild 1 Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 ^ Are those buses that are on the thing?! "A very beautiful and a unique ride" Just look at the picture. Unique yes, Beautiful, no.
grinch1313 Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Wow! That shuttle coaster looks insane. Great video! I love the cutaway to KT enjoying her ride, while Elissa definitely is not enjoying hers.
SharkTums Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 KT really had a great few days in Spain. There were all sorts of rides that she was now old and tall enough to ride 'herself', and that I felt comfortable LETTING her ride herself. As for that horrible death shuttle, I still feel sick.
larrygator Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 That is not a credit! Elissa wasted her time but at least she amused us.
cfc Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Freestyle Music Park needs one of these bad boys! Just name it "Rock 'n' Roll" and put a giant guitar at either end.
robbalvey Posted May 13, 2009 Author Posted May 13, 2009 OK everyone, I have posted the update for the insane Spanish fair where the Death Shuttle comes from. Be prepared for some pretty crazy stuff: http://www.themeparkreview.com/parks/photo.php?pageid=487&linkid=5998 Post comments! --Robb
YoshiFan Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 I don't know what is crazier the standing Falling Star or Pirate Ship. It's also amazing the type of rides you see at parks/fairs out of the US.
traincrossin Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 HOLY S***! I really don't know what else to say besides this is the best most awesome but messed up looking fair ever! By the way, the standing falling star is called La Carcel which means The Jail in english. That would explain those cameras on the ride (or would it?) Glad none of you died on the spanish shuttle death coaster!
netdvn Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Spanish Death Shuttle doesn't look that deadly. Rules-less Stand up falling star looks fun. Stand-up swinging ship looks fun too. That fair could use some German flat rides... Then it would be the bestest fair ever!!!
Meteornotes Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 That was amazing. I want to ride a stand up Falling Star now. dt
cfc Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Spanish Death Shuttle doesn't look that deadly. Hmm--you might want to try riding it, then getting back to us on that. I'm sort of intrigued by the stand-up Falling Star and pirate ship, too.
