atem122 Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 Let me state that if there already is a thread like this, I'm sorry for wasting your time. This thread is about reporting funny things that you've seen in either a queue for a ride, in the scenery, or on the ride that most people don't notice. If I'm not clear enough let me just start it off: In the line for Space Mountain at DLR, in the safety video, right after the man says "this ride contains many fast turns, sudden drops, and stops" the man in the back row hit's his head on the seat in front of him really hard. Once again if there is a thread like this (I'm not really sure) just close this and send me the link. -thanks, Atem122 MOD EDIT: I changed your sub-heading to make it more descriptive and differentiate from "Stupid Things said by the GP"
Thelegendarymatthew Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 Kind of simmilar to the "funny coaster" reactions thread. I'm positive a Staff member will merge the threads, and change the title of that topic. For something funny, hmm. At Kings Dominion last year, someone just started beat boxing while I we were going up Anacondas lift, and at the top he said. "Man, we in for it now" I LMAO'd -Matthew K.
linearinduction Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 I thought an Unlocked Gate to Main Power Disconnects for an entire Ride Area at Wild Waves in 2003 was pretty funny. - Sid
Electerik Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 Okay. How about this? How many T's does the word "platter" have in it?
Team Thriller Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 I don't know if it's still there, but in line for Indiana Jones at Disneyland, if you shake this rope that goes into a hole in the ground, you will hear someone yell, "STOP IT!". Then if you do it again, you hear him screaming while falling. I found it pretty funny. --James
bhslhs Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 At silverwood there are many funny signs. One for example is on an old little fence and it says please respect this little fence so that we wont have to put up a bigger one. Another is in the Tremors que line where they're saying not to stand up and its a painting of a guy who's holding his de-capitated head.
larrygator Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 Sea Odessey at Port Aventura has the great safety video that is much better than the actual simulator.
televisedconfession Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 In line for Shrek 3-D at Universal Studios Florida, there is a gramatical error one of the signs. Note below: They're vs. Their
Teacups Make Me Sick Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 I always thought it was strange that Medusa at Great Adventure had nothing to do with greek mythology...but the mining aspect of it did fit in with frontier-land'esque theme.
Crazy_Behemoth_Lady_Jess Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 I always thought it was strange that Medusa at Great Adventure had nothing to do with greek mythology...but the mining aspect of it did fit in with frontier-land'esque theme. Same that Behemoth and Titan had not much reference to mythology either. Except the on ride photo this year for Titan, it SORTA had alittle bit of a mythology theme to it. Behemoth had like no themeing at all really. And by the way, are safety videos even used for coasters anymore? I have never seen any. Is there any of them on Youtube or anything because I can't seem to find any. ~ Jess "Un-themed" Chan
ebl Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 "They're vs. Their" A lot of people I know can't even tell the difference between those two---even around here... I think it's funny when a park has references to past attractions long after they're gone (or should I have said "their" gone? ). Eric
mike541x Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 I remember a few years ago, there were a pair of headphones hanging from a tree next to the queue of Mind Eraser at SFA for a long time.
MrX8991 Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 One of my favorites from a while ago from a safety sign for Space Mountain in WDW that said Space Mountain is "out of this would!"
Erik Johnson Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 They have since changed it, but that was a warning sign in the Mummy queue at Universal Florida. I wonder how many people actually do throw up because of fog effects.
Crazy_Behemoth_Lady_Jess Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 I don't think it's throwing up from the fog effects. I think it's more to do with asthma and the chemicals in the fog. I know because I have asthma and sometimes special effect fog makes it hard to breathe.
Crazy4Coasters! Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 I think he was just referring to the picture depicting someone puking on the sign. But thanks for the bit of information because my girlfriend has asthma so it's just something to keep in mind now.
ghost007jas Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 ^^ In response to your post on the other page, I know that Xcelerator, Silver Bullet and Ghostrider all do. As well as Space Mountain. But it is true that this isn't really a "common" occurrence.
dandaman Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Robb pointed this out at Behemoth Bash if I recall correctly, in line for SkyRider. EPIC line jump!
Angry_Gumball Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 I posted this before in another thread...but found this a bit appropriate for a Vekoma ride... It really was meant to say something else but the word after "Ear" (Ring perhaps?) wore off or got peeled off. "Please Remove Ear..." You'll be in pain if you don't!
Crazy_Behemoth_Lady_Jess Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 I posted this before in another thread...but found this a bit appropriate for a Vekoma ride... It really was meant to say something else but the word after "Ear" (Ring perhaps?) wore off or got peeled off. Yeah I noticed it reading a trip review. Very appropriate for Vekoma rides indeed. I have an upper ear piercing myself and i have to be very careful when it comes to those rides. As for that line jumping sign, me and my cousins had a good laugh when we went to Canada's Wonderland. My uncle was pointing out "how could anyone climb over six people anyways? Unless they're like 10 feet tall" Or something along the lines of that.
AviatorCoaster Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 ^^^Haha! The caption is perfect. I hope to see that one someday.
atem122 Posted April 2, 2009 Author Posted April 2, 2009 I forgot to say one that I found, at sfmm, if you look at the back of Taz's head in this fountain near bugs bunny world, it looks like a penis I filmed it in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ww5JNguyGog&feature=channel_page Skip to 3:27
chemical_echo Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Found this one at LaRonde back in 2006. I like to think that an employee was getting mad at guests, and the stupid questions they tend to ask, and took it upon himself to add to the sign in front of his ride. No Idiots
pianojohn Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 When Sheikra first opened, the sign makers had a hard time spelling the word "tiered" as in "tiered seating." See? That's better! Whoops!
Bolliger&Mabillard Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 I find it funny how all of the ride gates at SFMM now say "DANGER-HIGH VOLTAGE", no matter what the gate fences off.
