Photo TR: Disney's Typhoon Lagoon
ghost007jas replied to BeemerBoy's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Phenomenal trip report, I found the entire thing very educational. Previously, neither of these water parks would have even been on my radar while planning a trip to WDW; but, after seeing this... I have to say that it would definitely be a must-do. I don't generally like water parks, but this could be the exception to the rule. Thanks again for a great report and some really wonderful pictures. -
Knott's Haunt - 2010 Enthusiast Event!

As if the previous option wasn't a deal... This is frickin phenomenal. I wasn't even planning on attending Haunt this year; but I don't think I can lay off on this one! Jake "Tickets will be bought within the next week" Sundstrom -
I was able to interview Jeff Hensley this evening, and I just put the post up now with the audio file attached. You can click here to go to the site, and check out some of the highlights below. I will say that I'm pretty confident in his ability to get this project off the ground, he has a lot of good ideas and a lot of business savvy to go with it. Some main points:

House of 1000 Corpses is a better film than either of his Halloween remakes, but in all honesty, the movie lends itself so well to this sort of event that it doesn't matter that the movie is terribly campy and poorly acted. Visually, House of 1000 Corpses will be fantastic, and for Halloween Horror Nights... that's really all that matters. Just look at the SAW maze; half of those movies are garbage, but the maze was one of the best they've done thus far!

Exactly! The Freddy and Jason characters are extremely popular at Halloween Horror Nights, partially because you can't see them anywhere else. If you have access to properties that draw guests in the way that Friday the 13th, Nightmare On Elm Street, and SAW do... why wouldn't you use them? And if they're building new mazes each year, all the better!

That's just the way pre-shows work, guys. Yeah, it's too bad a five minute video breaks up your power riding, but the rides aren't (and shouldn't be) disposable, ride 'em as many times as you can, experiences. Honestly, I definitely prefer Terminator's pre-show to the hours of metal bars that you have to deal with on X2.

Not to be a spammer, but I was able to ask Brian Houser (the guy who was interviewed in the Six Flags Blog a few pages back) some questions about The Texas Giant rehabilitation. I can tell you now that there will be catwalks all around the ride, just like there are now, and they will still walk the ride every morning. You can read the rest of the questions here. It's a quick read, and the catwalk question is the one most pertinent to this thread, since it was something debated a couple of weeks ago .

Ferrari World Discussion Thread

At first, I wasn't sure if this park would actually become a reality; I must say that it's nice to be proven wrong! The video was done well, and those cars are absolutely beautiful. Intamin did a fantastic job - I look forward to seeing more pictures, videos, etc.
