  1. Thanks! I forgot to grab any maps, so I'll do my best to get some on Termination Day.
  2. Woops! I meant to say the 25th, not the 28th. My bad! As far as Tatsu goes, I can honestly say the ride has never made me ill. I generally don't get motion sickness of any kind, so that's not particularly shocking.
  3. Since 4D is just a title and marketing ploy - not 'scientifically accurate' you could call it a 7D coaster and be just fine. This concept is really neat, I like it!
  4. The restraint loosened up durin the ride, which was more uncomfortable than frightening. And the audio was not workig quite right, the fire was off, and I got beat up and banged around worse than I ever had on X.
  5. I generally love X2, which is what made this last rode so shocking!
  6. Disney won't be able to stop them, but I don't think Six Flags (Magic Mountain at least) needs that kind of comparison. "Disneyland's Snow White is better!" "Mom, why does Magic Mountain's Alice look different than Disneyland's?"
  7. I know that Magic Mountain PTRs are about a dime a dozen these days, but I felt it necessary to share with everyone what a fantastic day I had at the park. I honestly can not say I have had a better experience at any amusement park (With the exception of say, Disneyland) in my life - which shocked the crap out of me. Anyway, I'll tell my story through the pictures, because I don't like reading these introductory paragraphs anymore than you do. In fact, probably less than you do. Thanks for reading! I'll be back on Termination Day . That, in addition to lightning fast Terminator crews (They are awarded my tip of the hat) friendly employees and a clean park made for a fantastic day at the park. So in conclusion, the flashpass assisted us in skipping hours and hours of lines (more or less) and really made for an enjoyable visit. After several attempts to get a shot of this sign, this was the best I could get. We only waited about forty minutes this time, and had a spectacular ride - the fog adds a whole new dimension to the ride. So while we waited for Terminator, we started to "queue" for Deja Vu. After our ride on Terminator, and a quick stop in the Terminator gift shop (I got a sweet T-Shirt) we snagged another ride on Deja. We only waited an hour for Terminator, which in my opinion is totally worth it. I can't think of anything clever to say. "I'm Back" keeps running through my mind though. But first, Luke (My brother) needs a cape. No, The Riddler did not wear a cape to my knowledge, but I already have the Batman cape - so there. Only six bucks, which in my opinion makes this a great souvenir for a little kid! Or an immature teenager. Another go on Batman: The Ride before we get back in line for Terminator? Yeah, that sounds good! Superman is a fun ride if you just let go and let it do it's thing. I think the same could be said for most rides - especially Terminator. The Atom Smasher. Now THAT'S a hard core ride name. And this ride earns it. Except it should be named the "Little brother squasher". Sorry, mom. Hey Thomas Town, you had lots of kids playing inside you. But I felt it would be too creepy to take a picture of that. A fun ride, but they could really use a row sorter. The station is a total mess. Next up, The Riddler's Revenge. And yes, it is THE Riddler's Revenge. His name is The Riddler. Yeah, I did argue with my friend about this for fifteen minutes. We decided we had not had enough of Tatsu, so we Flashed it again (heh heh) and got another great ride in the back. This ride on X2 was like finding out that your highschool sweetheart was sleeping with your best friend. Alright, not really. It was more like falling off a horse onto gravel. There we go. Hello X2. Yes, I am ready to wait two and a half hours in order to hate the ride that you give me. By now, it was lunch time. We decided to get some food before venturing towards X2, which we knew would be crowded and not flashpass friendly. The food was good, although the employees were very, very slow. Unfortunately, my wag of the finger goes to the Tatsu crew for excessive laziness and slow dispatch times. We Flashpassed Tatsu and skipped a good forty minute wait. I also discovered I love Tatsu in the back row, the intensity is umatched on any B&M I have been on. We found this while we were walking up the Flashpass stairs - pretty cool! We found out that Christian Bale is unrelated to this Batman: The Ride - so we're good to ride. We wanted to get in and out of here as quickly as possible before Christian Bale found us.. we barely escaped his wrath over at Terminator. After we ran back to the front of the park to get our flashpass (Yeah, yeah, that's one big reason our day kicked so much butt) and then reserved Goliath, which only had a ten minute wait as it was. The back seat on this ride is much better than the front, in my opinion. But this is not a Terminator report, so we booked it over to Deja Vu next which we got on with no wait. I love this ride. A lot. Really. Terminator was a lot of fun. Some great airtime moments with plenty of intensity and fantastic pacing all wrapped together with a fun theme makes this one a winner! What do you mean you saw that last shot already? You guys are too tough to please. I could keep showing you Terminator pictures that you have already seen, but instead, here is some track without a train. The entrance to the pre-shows. When it gets hot, these buildings will be a Godsend. Some more queue theming, it was nice to have something to look at while waiting. Even the tvs which were littered with advertisements were good for starting conversation. The end of the world is sponsored by Jeep! I knew it... Feast your eyes on.. THE END OF THE WORLD. Hello my love. Is that weird to say? Probably. I don't care. I was excited. At ten thirty am the gates swung open, and we scanned our print at home play passes and booked it to Terminator. Thanks to the Revolution shortcut we were able to get about third in line for Terminator - score! We were able to get to about third in line outside the gate, good thing we got here early! I'd like to note that the pre-show outside is just so sad. The actors try SO hard, but the material is just SO campy! We joked about what a "Six Flags Day" was exactly - boy were we about to find out what the upside of that scale was! Hello Magic Mountain, it's nine thirty - which means we get to wait an hour to get inside you. Yep. First picture and there's already a sex joke.
  8. ^ That didn't seem all that harsh to me. I think most families already know that Disneyland is a better location than Six Flags Magic Mountain. Magic Mountain's biggest competition (as far as I'm concerned) is Knott's, and they weren't mentioned within that entire article.
  9. But Silver Bullet isn't themed to Batman... So it isn't really the same.
  10. You're looking at one employee per bank of lockers making eight dollars an hour. Depending on the ride at which that person is stationed, I can almost guarantee that they're pulling in more than that with locker fees an hour. Even if their goal is just to improve load times, I find it hard to believe that they're making NO profit.
  11. ^ Same for me... I don't know my history all that well.
  12. I feel like I'm hopping on a bandwagon, but Terminator Salvation: The Ride on Memorial Day. A solid eight or nine out of ten if you include the pre-shows, awesome stuff.
  13. I think it was Mr. Six, taking out the competition. Because Cedar Point and... Six Flags Great America are.. big competitors.. yeah.
  14. They had a 4D theater at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom the last time I was there (I'm not sure if it's still there?) and that was well themed and a big crowd pleaser! I would love to see Magic Mountain get something like that.
  15. ^ Well now you're looking at how you feel about that decision morally, since there are not any rules in place for lines that are not for some sort of attraction. So I agree with Robb in that it is a gray area, and you just have to do what you think is right. Personally, I wouldn't have a problem with that, but I'm also the kind of person that doesn't mind a seven year old coming back in line after going to the bathroom.
  16. ^ Yeah, it's nice when it's about eighty degrees out and there's a good breeze going. But when it gets over a hundred all you want to do is be inside some sort of air conditioned enclosure. And a transport ride would give the park that!
  17. ^ It was a tone of curiosity, I've only seen it done to an Xcelerator train before, so I was not sure what it meant. Thank you for explaining!
  18. When I went to the park on Monday one of that Tatsu trains had been totally stripped of all padding, seats, etc. Could we see a pretty, newly refurbed train on Tatsu soon?
  19. Wouldn't somebody like a ride operator notice if a train went out with a good speaker and came back with a busted one? And if they were to catch someone vandalizing the theming, etc. would they be able to fine them for it? Jake "It would be great to know that they can squeeze some money if they catch these vandals" Sundstrom
  20. I think anyone who says that operations have not generally improved at Six Flags parks (Tatsu is still icky) hasn't been to a Six Flags park in a while! The Goliath crew at Magic Mountain is fantastic, as well as the Terminator crew and Batman: The Ride. .....lockers
  21. I used the device on Memorial Day and it was all different kinds of fantastic. We rode everything we wanted to - including Tatsu multiple times in the back row, and it really ensured a positive experience at the park. We didn't encounter any hostility from other guests because the Flash Pass line does not parallel the regular queue like at Disneyland. If anything, we got more "That looks cool! How much is it?" and other statements of curiosity as opposed to anger. And the staff members doing the instructional video and distributing the pass were really friendly and helpful, so all in all.. It was money well spent.
  22. ^ He's just saying that the lockers aren't the only solution to this problem. I would have liked to see them take the same approach that Universal does, but I understand that for the coin operated lockers that isn't possible. Jake "Packs Light" Sundstrom
  23. Well then you would need two people. And that just sounds like a hassle.
