I love the choice of House of 1000 Corpses; anyone who has seen the movie knows that it lends itself wonderfully to this format. They also announced a scare zone themed to the Mexican legend La Llorona - here's the press release. I had not heard of this legend before I got the press release, but it sounds like it'll work well as a scare zone and terror tram area. I'm waiting for some concept art before I get excited about this, but I'm sure it'll be up to the quality we've seen from Horror Nights in the past. Also, I was able to interview John Murdy (creative director of the event) on Friday, and you can read that interview here. Really looking forward to HHN 2010!

I'd rather not wait around every time one team doesn't like a call, and take my lumps. Because more often then not, one call does not make or break a game. It feels like it sometimes, and I understand that, but it is simply not the case. And I'm loving my Giants playing 4-0 right now!

Would you apply to this college or send your kids here??

This can't be real. It just can't. There is... I mean... I am completely taken aback by this. Gross. That's all I have to say about this list. -
Hey guys, I'm putting together a Yahoo fantasy baseball league, and as it stands now I have five players. Ideally, of course, I would have the maximum twelve. However, I would be perfectly pleased with bringing this to an even number of players so I can draft and start next week. So if you are interested, please post below and I will send you an email to the address listed on your profile (Or just PM me with your email address). Thanks so much! And mods, I don't think this is breaking any forum rules, but if it is, feel free to move or remove as needed. Thanks!

Great event, big thanks to Robb and Magic Mountain for putting it together. They really should race Colossus consistently, its a great experience and makes the ride much more than just "an option". The Q&A was... enlightening. Some things made me scratch my head (the "train guests to leave things at home" argument seemed faulty, as the you-know-whats also detract from people buying those thirteen dollar refillable cups) but it really seems like these guys want what is best for the park, so I respect their intentions if nothing else. The paint jobs are important, and I am glad that they realize that. So while they side stepped some questions, it was nice to see the head honchos more or less "unplugged".

^ It's a lot cheaper than a psychiatrist! Paying a guy twenty bucks an hour to keep office morale high? Worth it. -
top 10 coasters poll
ghost007jas replied to Brandon4579's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've only been on Tatsu and Millennium Force, and had to go with Tatsu. I do really enjoy Millennium Force, but Tatsu really is a superior ride. The intensity is absolutely fantastic, and the sensation of speed is nearly as good as Millennium Force's. The only thing that Millennium Force REALLY has over Tatsu is airtime. And even then, the Corkscrew and Zero G roll on Tatsu are rather wonderful. I was, however, pretty happy to see Bizarro taking the lead early on, and I am a tad disappointed that Millennium Force has taken such a substantial lead. But hey, that's business! -
I think that EBL has a good point. I know that after being hammered down so many times for suggesting a thrill ride be built at Magic Mountain (and I don't mean TPR in particular, this was pretty common at other forums), people are wary to do so now. However, Six Flags will most likely continue to add great thrill rides, just not as often. A new ride in the style of Riddler's Revenge or Scream would be a great idea because it really does appeal to more than just 16-25 year old males. Now I don't think this is the most pressing issue for the mountain, I think a drop tower and some really nice flat rides (Let's get some S&S in there!) would do wonders. But I do think that they can not afford to let every single one of their coasters to become Stagnant. They have to beat Knott's on two levels, family rides (where Knott's has the edge) and roller coasters (where Magic Mountain has the edge). Just my two cents. What do you guys think? Edit: Really cool that the forums tell you when someone has posted while you are typing up your post. I love it!

On the one hand, I think it is awful that something like this would happen at Disneyland. On the other hand, the fact that it did happen at Disneyland makes this guy SO much easier to catch. If he had just gone for it on a sidewalk, there would be no picture, and no evidence except for a drawing. So, there's the bright side, albeit a dim one. As far as taking this to the media, do I have a problem with it? Not really, that's to be expected. Besides the fact that I don't believe she got on the phone and called up ABC, it's America in the 21st century where thankfully sexual assault is considered an awful thing - so it's going to make headline news. All that being said, I hope they find this guy, throw him on all the sexual offenders lists and makes his life a living hell. The end!

Good call by "DenDen" on the Governor throwing money towards road improvements. Granted he did not give any specifics, but I think it will address at least some of the problems you guys fear exist due to poor road conditions. Really exciting news for Florida! However, I hope this doesn't turn the California LegoLand into the ugly stepchild... -

I really enjoyed Angry_Gumball's card. It is both theme park related (Which would, of course, make sense) and very sleek and professional. He really did a nice job! -

Wow, that is a beast of a roller coaster! The speed that the train will be taking around the first curve is sure to be impressive, and the airtime on that first hill should be a lot of fun!
