  1. Same here. I've loved that character since I was a kid. Jake "How about a Riddler retheme...?" Sundstrom
  2. Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, and Galapagos Turtles? I think yes. Turtles are freaking awesome.
  3. Phenomenal trip report, I found the entire thing very educational. Previously, neither of these water parks would have even been on my radar while planning a trip to WDW; but, after seeing this... I have to say that it would definitely be a must-do. I don't generally like water parks, but this could be the exception to the rule. Thanks again for a great report and some really wonderful pictures.
  4. As if the previous option wasn't a deal... This is frickin phenomenal. I wasn't even planning on attending Haunt this year; but I don't think I can lay off on this one! Jake "Tickets will be bought within the next week" Sundstrom
  5. I was able to interview Jeff Hensley this evening, and I just put the post up now with the audio file attached. You can click here to go to the site, and check out some of the highlights below. I will say that I'm pretty confident in his ability to get this project off the ground, he has a lot of good ideas and a lot of business savvy to go with it. Some main points:
  6. They could put TOGO Stand-Up trains on that ride, take the audio away, and I'd be one happy camper.
  7. ^ Definitely agree with you there. Even if you're not crazy about the first film, I'd definitely check out The Devil's Rejects. Only two weeks until opening night, will anyone else be there?
  8. I wasn't aware that there was a cohesive theme at the boardwalk... Isn't part of the charm the fact that everything is just kind of inexplicably there? Like a melting pot of awesome?
  9. House of 1000 Corpses is a better film than either of his Halloween remakes, but in all honesty, the movie lends itself so well to this sort of event that it doesn't matter that the movie is terribly campy and poorly acted. Visually, House of 1000 Corpses will be fantastic, and for Halloween Horror Nights... that's really all that matters. Just look at the SAW maze; half of those movies are garbage, but the maze was one of the best they've done thus far!
  10. I've only ever gone on opening night, and I've had a great time every year. If there's a substantial price difference, I'd say that's all the more reason to go early! Especially since the crowds are generally lighter the earlier you go.
  11. Exactly! The Freddy and Jason characters are extremely popular at Halloween Horror Nights, partially because you can't see them anywhere else. If you have access to properties that draw guests in the way that Friday the 13th, Nightmare On Elm Street, and SAW do... why wouldn't you use them? And if they're building new mazes each year, all the better!
  12. It's about time that they made a 'real' website for this event. It's still nothing compared to Florida's, but I'm not expecting miracles.
  13. The only problem with this is that you can pay thirty dollars to ride it at Knott's, and you have the pleasure of paying over a hundred dollars to do it at California Adventure. The real problem with the Maliboomer is that it doesn't reach the high level of quality that Disney is known for.
  14. Nah, the new CEO is going to change the cars to look like old Siemens' cell phones.
  15. Their new CEO (Jim-Reid Anderson) has appointed a new CFO and General Counsel. Press release: Sounds like he wanted guys he had already worked with in his company. Nothing really shocking here, but I thought it was worth posting.
  16. To be honest, this park could stand to benefit quite a bit from a Pony Express clone. Anything to bring some life to this park would do a lot of good.
  17. With two new mazes already, the return of Freddy is definitely not a problem with me. The past two Freddy mazes have been some of the scariest of the events (especially his Sophomore year), and I'm sure that tradition will continue with this year's edition.
  18. That's just the way pre-shows work, guys. Yeah, it's too bad a five minute video breaks up your power riding, but the rides aren't (and shouldn't be) disposable, ride 'em as many times as you can, experiences. Honestly, I definitely prefer Terminator's pre-show to the hours of metal bars that you have to deal with on X2.
  19. Not to be a spammer, but I was able to ask Brian Houser (the guy who was interviewed in the Six Flags Blog a few pages back) some questions about The Texas Giant rehabilitation. I can tell you now that there will be catwalks all around the ride, just like there are now, and they will still walk the ride every morning. You can read the rest of the questions here. It's a quick read, and the catwalk question is the one most pertinent to this thread, since it was something debated a couple of weeks ago .
  20. ^ That's what I got as well. Oh, and he said it would have the largest footprint of anything ever built at Busch Gardens, for whatever that is worth!
  21. At first, I wasn't sure if this park would actually become a reality; I must say that it's nice to be proven wrong! The video was done well, and those cars are absolutely beautiful. Intamin did a fantastic job - I look forward to seeing more pictures, videos, etc.
