  1. I love the Santa Cruz Boardwalk, and was always a fan of the Haunted Castle. I'm glad that they're moving on with an even better attraction, as the Haunted Castle was becoming a bit... old, one may say. I'll have to get out there this Summer after it opens! It really is a great park, a Hell of a lot better than the Santa Monica Ocean Pier!
  2. I have a quick question regarding food before I register. My girlfriend can't eat gluten, that is wheat (so, bread). Now I don't remember what kind of food was served at Termination Day, but would it be best for us to sign up for the dinner or to try and hunt down something she can eat at a food place in the park? Thanks!
  3. I live very close to the Ontario airport, and it only takes me an hour and fifteen minutes to get to Magic Mountain and under an hour to get to Knott's, so it is certainly feasible - especially if the price is right! My girlfriend and I look forward to checking out the event this year!
  4. This is really saddening. I have always wanted to ride this, and now knowing that I never will is very disappointing. I don't want another B&M Flyer, I want to ride a classic Arrow Suspended coaster... In this instance anyway.
  5. ^ I think one positive of having an event so large is that you would be able to allow more people to attend, whereas you had to cap the attendees for the Termination Day. But I agree, that something a bit more "beyond the norm" is a lot more interesting, for me anyway.
  6. ^ Sounds good to me... I was at the media event today and I just posted my review of the show: http://www.coasterdom.com/2009/06/30/the-creature-from-the-black-lagoon-a-raging-rocking-show-review/ It was weak, to say the least. Filled with jokes that just weren't funny, songs that were alright at best, and a story that has left me scratching my head. Jake "Let's make Bill and Ted permanent?" Sundstrom
  7. It depends on what kind of retail you're selling as well. I don't need anyone's input on buying a new, $20 LEGO set, but I might like some advice when I'm looking into purchasing a $2000 computer.
  8. I just got back from the event/seeing a movie and the morning ERT was fantastic! Even without being able to go to the night ERT, the morning ERT in combination with the lunch was totally worth it. Thanks for putting on a fantastic event guys! I got 12 rides on Terminator, freakin awesome :].
  9. A Saw maze sounds like a really fantastic idea, I can think of all kinds of sweet gags they could pull off. I can't believe it's almost here again!
  10. It's going to be an early morning, that's for sure. Despite that, I'm really looking forward to getting in a bajillion rides on Terminator - heck yes!
  11. It really varied from crew to crew. I noticed a big uptick in enthusiasm on Tony Hawk from say, Medusa. I just noticed a lot of standing around, walking to check restraints, etc. And Medusa west eats Scream for breakfast.
  12. I went to the park today for the first time since I have lived in Southern California (about five years) and I have to say that although the aesthetic changes are lovely, the attitudes of the majority of the employees are awful. Laziness, rudeness, and just a general lack of motivation sums up my experience with the employees - however the animal.. trainers? Were certainly an exception. Beyond that, I absolutely love the park. The rides are all a lot of fun, and I've always been a sucker for the animal exhibits. I enjoyed myself thoroughly, and am glad I went, despite my less than terrific experiences with the employees.
  13. ^ The queue theming for Goliath is really neat, as is the tunnel and station. But the land under the ride is just pavement, which could certainly be improved upon.
  14. No opening day is perfect, just look at Disneyland! It's great to hear that you were able to sell plenty of season passes, hopefully good word of mouth will bring people when the weather improves!
  15. The difference is, that people go to Six Flags parks, where-as no one buys GM's cars .
  16. I think there are a lot of neat things they could do with the queue, and even something as simple as a dance club atmosphere would fit in perfectly with the theme. This ride looks really neat, and while I can't say it will climb to the top of everyone's respective top tens, it is something different that will surely please those lucky enough to ride it. Jake "So where is USH's coaster?" Sundstrom
  17. I've been on three... Even if Superman was included my number would remain at three because it would bump Goliath off the list!
  18. It all looks absolutely fantastic! I love the color scheme of the buildings, it has a great feel to it. Good luck with the grand opening!
  19. Interesting trip report... Although your incorrect spelling of the Dark Knight makes me question your thoughts on the ride.
  20. Am I the only one that really hopes that at least one of these next two additions is a major NON-coaster ride? Honestly, I get tired of riding coasters all day, and a nice flat ride is desperately needed by the park.
  21. I love Kong.. Great trip report, it seems like not every park has been making an impressive turn around. (And this one is in Shapiro's backyard!)
  22. It's because he kept forgetting how mediocre they are! Jake "Go read Twilight or something" Sundstrom
