Intamin10 Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 These are some of the photos I took at Cedar Point with my new camera this season. That's one of the best parts of working there in the summer, on my days off I get to ride the rides and also get to take a bunch of photos. Maverick over the pond. Maverick going through the s-curve (formerly heartline roll) Maverick swooping over the pond again. Maverick diving over the pond. Maverick going up the first hill. Millennium Force coming out of the second tunnel. Millennium Force going up the first hill. Millennium Force's final turn into the brakes. Skyline of the park from the entrance. Mean Streak going around the turnaround. Maverick entering the tunnel. Magnum going down the first drop. MaxAir in full swing. Wicked Twister going up the back spike. Mantis flying by the station.

I could have sworn you were gonna say the best part of working the summer is having all the girls around you on the first picture... I thought this was the best part of your summer... LOL!
Electerik Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Those are great! Â I've never really been into the whole "close up of a train" type of photography. But then, I've never had that good of a camera.
supertrooper Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Wow, your camera sucks. The zoom and clarity is pathetic. You would have been better off using one of those disposable things from Walgreens.
The Disneylander Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 ^ Now that's not very nice! I thought they were very well done.
Jds03 Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Yeah, there were tons of great angles and the trains were all caught completely. I can never get the timing right to get a close-up moving train shot. Â Good job.
ebl Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 I have a feeling that supertrooper is being sarcastic about the pictures. As for me, I thought they were darned good---a lot better than I could take for sure. Â Eric
Speeddeamon128 Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Nice pics! I enjoyed the close up shots.
downunder Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 I love the varied looks on peoples faces when they are on coasters, the whole spectrum from extreme fear to orgasmic pleasure - you captured it well. Â I would have thought one of the great things about working at CP would have been having all those gorgeous eastern european girls as co-workers. Â I love Cedar Point, it is such a great place to stay, if I got married I'd want to have my honeymoon there but no girl I'd wind up marrying would ever consent to that, probably.
BuschSchoe Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Very nice photos, I love the one with TTD, Raptor, and Power Tower.
Cedar Point Princess Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Â I love Cedar Point, it is such a great place to stay, if I got married I'd want to have my honeymoon there but no girl I'd wind up marrying would ever consent to that, probably. Â I would have loved to have a honeymoon at Cedar Point! Heck, I wish I would have had my wedding at Cedar Point! I would have said " I Do" going down Millie's first hill! This summer a guy proposed to his girlfriend there. He had the caricature person draw him on one knee. That was cool.
supertrooper Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 I have a feeling that supertrooper is being sarcastic about the pictures. As for me, I thought they were darned good---a lot better than I could take for sure. Eric  Thank you for picking up on that. I thought it would have been obvious since the pictures are amazing. Oh well....some things just fly over people's heads...like ninja stars.
Pirouettes907 Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Those pictures are gorgeous. It's been ten years since I've been there and it's always fun to see pictures, especially ones like yours that you may not get to see a lot--there's something about train and track close-ups that's just really, really cool. Something about them just really brings out how immense and majestic some roller coasters are, whether through their physical appearance or through the appearance on the faces of some riders! Â Very nice job!
slither37 Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Great pictures. I can never time the photo right to get pictures such as these.
Philrad71 Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Great job! I also enjoy seeing the close-up photo's of people's expressions on the coasters. It certainly isn't easy to capture those trains as they are whizzing by!
HEADCHEEZ Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 Amazing Pictures! I wish I had a camera that good!
thrillgeek Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 These pics are fabulous! What camera do you have?
cycamps Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 Awesome pictures! I really like the angles/closeness (whatever you want to call it) of them.
itnotfair Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 Thanks for the pics! They made me all the more anxious to hit Ohio sometime in the near future. You must have a pretty quick shutter speed? Not that I know a thing about photography...
Woogle Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 These pictures are really great. Nice and close. What lens are you using for these? It must be a powerfull zoom lense I suppose. Well done!
Intamin10 Posted February 10, 2009 Author Posted February 10, 2009 Thanks for the comments, the camera is a Canon Powershot SX100 IS.
