jynx242 Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Looks great but cold! I was, however, hoping for a wee-tiny 90 degree turn though . David
jedimaster1227 Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 The Gravity Group has posted a set of photos updating us on the latest progress with the construction of the Wooden Warrior! The outbound run of the coaster (left) has a fun burst of airtime before diving into a tunneled banked turn. You shoot out of the tunnel (right) into another fun airtime hill. (photo courtesy of Mountain) This photo looks back on an airtime hill from the outbound run (right) and a stretch of bunny hops (left) that are on the return run. (photo courtesy of Mountain) "We stitched a couple photos from the tunneled turnaround together to give you an idea of the fun level of banking that will be happening in this soon-to-be dark tunnel. (photo courtesy of Mountain)" The sign is up on the Wooden Warrior's structure. Are you ready to ride? (photo courtesy of Eric Anderson / Quassy Amusement Park)
Moose Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 According to the park's auction rules for the first riders, April 23rd! The 12 highest bidders will be declared the official FIRST RIDERS and the first to ride at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2011, at Quassy Amusement Park one hour prior to the park’s official opening for the season.
Skycoastin Steve Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Well lookie here, we have Timberliners at Quassy! Courtesy of their facebook.
Skycoastin Steve Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 ^I've reserved most comments on that issue because I'm not sure if it's a Holiday World problem, a GravityKraft/Timberliner problem, a Voyage compatibility problem, or a combination of all three. I just sit back and wait on that one. Hopefully they get favorable results from Wooden Warrior, Twister, and the High Five coaster this year.

SharkTums Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 It actually REALLY improves the look of the park! Kind of makes it look like the old school traditional park it should be!
cal1br3tto Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 I love the look of those hills! I agree that this gives off kind of a "classic" vibe. I'm trying not to make many assumptions about how this will ride, but it will at least be charming!
QueerRudie Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 OOOOHHH!!! If only I had a bigger backyard! It would be so sweet to have that as my toy!
Skycoastin Steve Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Definitely looking forward to giving this a few spins on the NE Trip.
samisthabomb Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 That looks awesome! Like Elissa said, a wooden coaster is just what Quassy needed to bring that "old school" feeling.
SuperShawn Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 This really is shaping up to be a fun little coaster! And I really can't wait to try those Timberliners out on the NE Trip as well!
eddie200330 Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Finally, a park that uses hills instead of twists and turns! I wish more of the wood getting built was just basic hill after hill instead of all the swooping and diving. Much better for riding.....
mightbeawannabe Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 This is looking sexy for a small coaster! It just has that 'look' to it. Not really twisty, but like some people said, it looks like a classic ride.
imawesome1124 Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 I agree with people saying that it has a classic look to it. I have never been to Quassy but I can tell that this will give it the old school feeling, like people have said.
Skycoastin Steve Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 And the Timberliner is on the track! Courtesy of TGG's facebook
KDcoasterMAN Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 I literally just drooled.... just a little. Those look marvelous!
jynx242 Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 This looks like the perfect sized family coaster for Quassy, and I do have to say that the Timberliners look sexy! To give it the Ultimate in classic woodie feeling, I'd love to see it painted white with chaser lights along the course. All though the Mad Mouse it is replacing was CRAZY...this looks like a better fit for the park. David
Gerstlauer1 Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Sexy bitch! Sorry, i have not folowed this thread that much, - how many trains are they running at a time? To give it the Ultimate in classic woodie feeling, I'd love to see it painted white with chaser lights along the course. I can agree with the lights, but white ? no way this pure wooden colour is more than hot! IMO

larrygator Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 I love chaser lights, but I'm sure the townfolk of Middlebury would have objected. It took a lot work from the park to convince the locals to gain approval on the new coaster.
Skycoastin Steve Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 ^Also another good point. I hate when the smart folk of TPR make excellent opposing points. It's so much easier when one smart person makes a good point against a much less intelligent person.
