will tpr members be doing a campout for terminater on media day? like what was done for tatsu on media day?

This question has been answered a few times already, but just in case anyone missed it: There will be no media day/opening day event for Terminator.

Seems awfully sweet but kinda brief, unless there are some edits to the video I didn't notice - what, around 45 seconds from the first drop to the brake run? Anyway, certainly nowhere near rcdb's 3-minute estimate.

3 minutes sounds about right, because I'm pretty sure rcdb counts the entire ride. That includes the pre-lift, lift, actual ride, brake run, and waiting on the brake run.

Funny about the "looking short" thing - the video actually seems to portray a slightly longer ride time than I originally thought.

Looks like it's gonna be intense, and with all the tunnels and...holes that that the trains go through, it seems this will be more about the "experience" than just a kick-ass coaster.

But it DOES look kick-ass.

And if at any point in the ride, Christian Bale's voice comes through the audio system screaming a vulgarity, I will declare it to be the best ride ever.

Oh yeah...

Prowler is better!!!11!!!1!!!one!

Not that I have been on either. I do all my criticisms from a computer screen.

The ride looks good, but like already said, brief. It seems that the majority of the ride duration is spent on the lift hill and brake run.

Pretty much the majority of all ride times is on the lift hill unless it's a long layout or fast lift hill etc

^and I agree with you, it seems longer and faster than I expected, me likey

Edit: Before anyone else: "it seems longer and faster than I expected" that's what she said

There was an edit in the video. You have to remember though that ride time is station to station. So you have to factor in the lift hill, stopping on the brake run, and pulling into the station makes up that 3 minute time.

Does GCI also test with different wheels like Intamin?

Remember in the Discovery Channel special of building Tatsu, the train was making the circuit to fast, so they had to put a higher-friction wheel on until it made it back to the station at the right time. This could be happening with Terminator too, that could be why it is appearing to fly through. Im sure it will still be a very fast paced ride though =]

Another worry is the hours of testing before the ride can open. Going off of the two documentaries I've seen (on Kingda Ka and Tatsu) along with some park employees who do winter season testing - a ride has to have so many hours consecutively without problem before a ride can open. That's also after the state inspection and Im sure some other fun law type deals.

Not saying it isn't possible, but I could see it cutting very close. Hopefully will make it out first week of June.

Thanks Robb for that video. I actually downloaded the file, it took awhile, but was able to watch it, and it looks like alot of fun. I can't wait to ride this thing like so many others. It is sure fast after that first drop, and flys through the course faster than expected, and that's good.

That box on the back, it does look weird to have, but must be something to do with the audio system if there is on-board audio, but you said Robb, that Tim Burkhart couldn't deny or confirm an audio system, or maybe he was keeping it a secret from the public. I am sure Media Day will reveal many things about this ride, I can't wait.

That was funny that the coaster got jammed up on the lift hill, and all of the orange hardhat terminator workers started rushing out of the station, a couple terminators must of taken over and scared them out.

I am not sure when I will be able to visit Six Flags, but I do appreciate all the pictures and videos posted here. I was thinking of getting my season pass this week, and visiting to check it out, and possibly take pictures. I can't wait for Media Day. I am sure local news will be down there, so wouldn't this be on the news that day, such as CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX?

And the movie looks awesome, it's going to be a very crazy weekend surrounding this new coaster, and movie. Exciting!

When I time my own rides on a coaster, I time them from station to station. In my experience, most coasters with a single lift hill and no mid-course brake run about 45 seconds to a minute from the top to the final brake. Terminator should be no different.

What happens during that 45-60 seconds is what counts.

The video looked great!

I finally saw the ride in person yesterday, May 16, and it's a really great looking ride in person. Kind of suprised that there looks to be quite a bit of station work left to be done in such a short amount of time. After that heat yesterday, I hope they are able to get line misters up and running in time for the next heat wave.

Imo, I think this pretty much is the perfect style of coaster that SFMM needed. Not a kiddie ride by no means, not a terror ride like X2. And it looks to be a fairly high capacity ride, which is really needed.

^Well, most GCIs have 2 12-car trains, but Terminator only has 11-cars per train since the rear part of the train holds the box with the audio system.

I bet it won't eat more than 1,000 pph, which is average for a park like SFMM...

And I agree that the ride duration (3 minutes) is station-to-station. Maybe this includes loading/unloading as well...that if they don't stack trains

I'm just excited because besides the 1 minute of ride time (it looks like the helix furthest from Deja Vu was left out in the video) there will be a much longer "experience time" than, say, Scream. Here you'll walk past scenery and through preshows before even seeing the station. To me that makes it much more valuable than just the minute it's moving...though that minute is still my favorite part.

I'm not crazy about the first drop, it's not a looker, but this genre of ride is to be compact and fun like Boardwalk Bullet. This is a very interesting package for possible future Six Flags use. The tunnels/quasi tunnels look cool with the fan turns.

I wouldn't compare it to Prowler either. I would be bored I with that I bet if it didn't involve deep woods. It's a whole different style. I'm not siding that one is better than the other.

Those strips of wood across the turns, not fully enclosing, gaps between pieces.

Oh! Those tunnels aren't done yet. I was told they were waiting until testing to fully enclose them and it should be done in the next day or two.
