P. 835: The Beast re-tracking effort announced!

So in both of these instances there technically is a MCBR however it just happens to be at the end of the ride. Only difference being that Tatsu only has 4 blocks (Station, Lift, MCBR (Block Brake), and Transfer aka Station approach) where as Leviathan has 5.

 

Does Tatsu's dual-load station count for a 5th block? Always wondered about that...

This is Cedar Fair, there has got to be a mid-course brake in there somewhere to run 3 trains.

 

Kinda screwed up my post there... that's what I get for posting at 6:33am...

 

It seems as though "most" of the Cedar Fair B&M's at the 2 Million+ Guest parks have gotten rides with 3 trains. And since this likely won't move as fast as say, Leviathan, I'm pretty sure there will be a mid-course in there someplace.

 

Was that better?

Based on the blueprints, I think the "mid course" brakes will actually come at the end of the ride, similar to how it is on Tatsu.

 

I feel bad for KI...they obviously tried so hard to keep this a secret, down to track not being out in the open at CSF-and then the blueprints were leaked. I hope in the future we don't see perimeter fences and armed guards around CSF!

 

One thing I do find interesting: the way certain parts of the blueprints were covered (perhaps to conceal the manufacturer name or the coaster name/logo) and the fact that the video has not been taken down and the park has not commented make me wonder if this might have been a "sanctioned leak"...in any case, I am anxious to see the full reveal next week. I think a weekend trip to KI might become part of my travel plans for 2014...

In some cases plans become accessible to the public after being submitted to planning boards/local governments. They can be viewed by residents/general public if you know what you're looking for. Not saying that's the case here but it might explain why the video hasn't been taken down and the media can discuss those submitted plans without any action but silence from KI....just throwing in my .02

I don't buy into the fake layout. It would take a good amount of effort to create those blueprints. Plus, a decent amount of footers on the blueprint have already been poured/preparing to be poured.

 

Though, I do know there is a good chance that the blueprints are fake.

I know this is reaching, but for speculation/discussion sake, the blueprint we are seeing could have been one of a few options for the addition and is not the actual addition they chose?! Lol I'm having way too much fun with this, I know!

That's what I'm leaning toward. Even if it is an invert it may be a different layout as I'm sure when a park asks for a ride they present multiple different designs.

I Know this is probably from a page or two back, by now. But Someone said that the Millennium Force, Didn't Have a Mid-Section Break run, If we go by the possibility of the MSBR being at the end, Millennium Force (as I see it) Has a MSBR right before the Safety breaks:

Im pretty sure this is right, but I could be wrong... Just trying to resolve the "No MSBR on Millennium" thing!

Tallest invert:220-250ft

Longest invert:5,000-6,000ft

Fastest invert:75 mph

Most inversions on invert:9

Longest drop on invert:250 ft

Steepest drop on invert 80 degrees

Most expensive invert:30 mil

 

Since the project is starting pretty early, this is going to be pretty big, I assume. I wouldn't at all be surprised In fact, if most of these come out to be true. In fact, I would say that

King's Island went "All IN" with this one.

Just looking at some of those statistics (which are fake at this point), I really don't know what to say other than that

This looks incredible

I would really be sad if

the record they are breaking for this ride is "World's Newest Inverted Coaster"
, considering how much marketing and PR stuff goes around these days.

If that's the case, the name would be a no-brainer: 'Seventh Son of a Seventh Son of Beast' as a prop to Iron Maiden, although I would probably still campaign for 'Laser Snake Horse on Fire'.

-Height record for inverted coaster (over 200 feet tall); can't tell yet.

 

There might be others, but that's just what I think from the information known at this point.
