AllenA07
What is the best thing to do to keep yourself from feeling sick? Be sure to take breaks between rides, don't overwhlem yourself. Also make sure that you're drinking enough, dehydration can get you feeling sick pretty quickly. Generally now I don't find myself in a situation where it's a problem, but when I used to go for media days where I knew I'd be getting in a lot of rides with few breaks I'd use Transderm Scop patches. You put one on behind your ear and you're good for the rest of the day, those things really seemed to help. If you're in a pinch I've also found that antiacids (Rolaids or Tums) can help make you feel better. Sometimes I even find that stopping and eating something will make me feel better. Just some ideas that you can try if you've got a problem with motion sickness.
cfc
There are two types of rides that I avoid--spinning teacups and round-ups. I'm not crazy about Top Spins, either. I rarely have nausea issues with coasters (although Dragon's Fury at Chessington was pushing it for me, and my digestive system wasn't too crazy about Tatsu). Manny In England
^ Depends on how generous the Top Spin operators are. They could be insanely nauseating or not very nauseating at all. But then again most are more fun to watch than to ride.
JJboy100
like lots of people i dont get sick on rollercoasters but if i over do it on the spinny rides at the carnival i usually throw up One time i went on a couple of spinny rides at a carnival and my friend asked me to go on the zipper and of course me being stupid as usually i went on and 25 minutes later puked infront of everyone on the train home. good memories
ETapley0687
Yea, every now and then I'll get a little dizzy but not to the point of vomiting. Throught the rides I'm fine but afterward it will hit me as I'm exiting lol. Titan (SFOT) - My head was spinning sooo much. That was the last ride of the day and it had me quiet the whole way back to the hotel lol. Next summer I went again and rode it without any problems. Tennessee Tornado (Dollywood) - My first trip there I rode this first. The back was fine but the front had a lot of force! lol I heard all about it before I rode it but I didn't think it would be so powerful in the front lol. After I got off I was pretty dizzy but I tried to walk around the park like it wasn't bothering me..... Haven't rode the front of TT since then lol. Dueling Dragons: Ice (IOA) - When I rode it for the first time my head got banged up in the cobra roll and afterward I was dizzy but I was ok by the time I was in waiting in line for Fire lol. AllenA07
^I actually had a very hard time after my first ride on Titan. Not sure why considering that I've easily taken several hundred of rides on Goliath over the years, and never had a problem whatsoever. So I guess that extra helix does me in. Swimace
A ride has never made me feel sick, I've just never had any form of motion sickness. Drop towers make me nervous, but that's about it for me. I once rode Dueling Dragons eight times in a row without having to go back through the line and I felt fine the entire time, I think I finally got bored and went to find another ride. swampfox
I used to get sick after going on rotors. Especially the old Time Shaft at Kings Dominion, because I liked looking around instead of looking forward back then. They don't bother me now, but there are few left now anyways. Other than that, only Wipeouts sometimes. Never had a coaster make me feel sick.
sfmmrules!
Is there any medication I can take to prevent me from getting sick?
Force 310
(Not in response to the above post-- not sure about that one...) No, and I never have. I don't know why, but I get nauseated more easily in, say, the back seat of a car. Coasters and other rides don't affect me at all in that area. AllenA07
^^ You can try Dramamine or Transderm. Transderm is by prescription only so you'd need to go to your doctor.
ebl
I have yet to get sick on any ride, but I do avoid high-G force flat rides. They don't call 'em "spin-and-barf" rides for nothing... Eric
sfotkid
^ Those I won't go on... I probably would get sick on those, and they don't thrill me!
nay
I've never gotten sick from a ride. I'll occasionally get a headache or feel slightly dizzy but that's all.
TheRapidsNerd
Anything with a drop (most of any given park) makes me want to shout at my shoes, even Pirates of the Carribbean. Yes, that's laughably sad. No worries, I shop, schlep bags, take pictures, and still have a great day out. The head scratcher is, rapids rides, water slides, and some simulators don't bother me. Still and all, I love coasters and parks. Always will.
krouvi
Although I like this ride Brerakdance makes me sick and made me very sick once. ASnother horrible ride is that "take off" (over the top) spin ride. I was so sick that I cried after riding it. It felt really just horrible and the ride op kept it spinning to all possible combination. I was sure I would faint .
canadianfreak
The only time I truly felt sick riding a ride was when I was 9 years old. I was at the local fair and they had the giant spinny berry ride. Before I rode, I chugged down a "Pepsi Blue". My friends wanted to spin as fast as we could. After riding I saw the blue mixed in with a few other colours in the trash can.
FeelTheFORCE
I just can't ride things that spin a lot, everything else is fine. I have never gotten sick after a ride on a roller coaster.
Mechanic
Myself, my oldest son, and my daughter have never had an issue with any ride. My wife and youngest son are a different story though. My wife can't tolerate any ride that spins, while the youngest son sometime gets nauseas on coasters.

saxman47
The only ride that ever made me feel queasy is Tomahawk at SFNE (A huss frisbee). That thing spins FAST!
steel
There is one ride that never fails to make me both queasy and unhappy, and that is Cyclone Sam's Cloud Poofer 3000 at Worlds of Fun.
HerBlackWings
I can, and will ride anything. Multiple times. (Pffft on ElToroExtreme). Just not a huge fan of Rotors or Gravitrons.
RIP Psyclone
I would say in my case the only way rides make me sick is if I am not feeling well, for any reason.
TexTitan01
If roller coasters make you sick, you dont belong on this site! joke> I dont necesarily get sick on rides, but on the pull-out of most B:TR clones, I will white out and remain white'd out until the break between inversion sets. I've never actually completely black/white'd out, but for a moment or so I'll just be extremely disoriented. My friends who have seen me white out say I look like I'm on a mean acid trip!
