IggyACE Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 I don't know how anyone missed the announcement in their blog.... http://www.worldsoffun.com/public/news/blog/index.cfm?entry=c4324187-ba35-4557-9e54-935bdd9440cf There you go all questions answered! Craig
Jive Posted May 16, 2008 Author Posted May 16, 2008 Worlds of Fun's PR fella has been updating the blog with dirt movement. They seem to be concentrating on the area under Boomerang. http://www.worldsoffun.com/public/news/blog/index.cfm?entry=994d6d5e-ccce-40b8-aa07-7167a03417a6 http://www.worldsoffun.com/public/news/blog/index.cfm?entry=519f881b-24ee-4a87-95f1-a6f30479426d
bigstevet07 Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Its Cedar Fair: The Experience, a 450 foot tall inverted dive machine with trash can themed cars and the track themed to concrete. The brake run will feature water jets that automatically shut down the ride once the first drop hits the track or cars.
Footballteen58 Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 YOUR ALL WRONG! its a new scrambler......... Football *copies people too much* teen58
christianscoasters Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 I'm going to WOF on the fourth I'll be sure to take pictures!!! Could this be the rumored GCI?!?! Either way, it's something big, and I can't wait to find out what it is! EDIT: Isn't Maverick in somewhat of an L-shape? That last turnaround makes it "L-ish". And isn't this dirt work in an L-shape Maybe!
fallen xxi Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 My guess is a Haunt Maze....but hey if you wanna fit a GCI or something in that space, good luck...Does WOF already have a 'Club Blood'? Could be something like that.
Sticky Nicky Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 ^They have a Club Blood already. One thing was confimered though, this new attraction will be shorter than Boomerang, which is 125'. I place my bet on a GCI.
Hobbesx2 Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 ^It's actually 115', I think. The prototype in Mexico was 125' though. However, I may be wrong. Also, that land clearing is not the only area for construction, I think. The flags are everywhere!
Vffreak07 Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 Um wrong. They don't have a club blood. They have Blood Shed, Carn Evil, Asylum Island, Dominion of Doom, Fright Zone, Lair of the Vampire, and Camp Gonnagitchya. I'm not spot on with all those names, but I'm positive they don't have a club blood.
Sticky Nicky Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 ^So the name is a little off but WoF already has a freestanding building for a haunt they added last year and this area of land is pretty big. I don't think it is for a haunt.
Paul Arthur Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 I work for a haunt industry company that has tried to sell WOF on the concept of a train haunt for several years now. I wouldn't put it past them to put the money into another Halloween attraction, as the haunt director for WOF is very high up in the CF Halloween chain. I will be there for a Halloween site meeting later this summer. Maybe I'll be able to find something out then.
steel Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 WoF is getting a new Haunt building, that's confirmed. http://kivaweb.kcmo.org/kivanet/2/permit/summary/index.cfm?pid=1314873&jur=KCMO
Hobbesx2 Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 There is no location given, and I don't remember if it was here or at Thrill Network, someone said they have seen the patent properly and it is not in Africa. Plus didn't someone earlier in the year have a thread about 2009, where whoever made it said Worlds of Fun slipped that they will be building their next biggest thing this year (more expensive, rather). Correct me if I'm wrong, but that doesn't mean no rollercoaster.
MisterP Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 I heard they were bringing Zambezi Zinger back. (And I sincerely wish I wasn't kidding...)
steel Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 The mystery isn't solved at all. The haunt building is going in the Orient. http://kivaweb.kcmo.org/kivanet/2/permit/address/index.cfm?fa=3&pin=87969&ain=946207&pid=1314873&jur=KCMO Either way, there was never any way one building could have covered up all those flags.
bigjohnson51 Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 ^They have a Club Blood already. One thing was confimered though, this new attraction will be shorter than Boomerang, which is 125'. I place my bet on a GCI. Where did you hear that from?

DBru Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 Robb, I am going to be TOTALLY upset now if this isn't a Hannah Montana themed ride!
MattyD Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 Bench The Ride? ^I'm also going to be upset now if this isn't a Hannah Montana themed ride, not that it really affects me over here in England... but it could pave the way for some Hannah Montana Rides all over the world!!! On a more serious note, I still think Robb raised a fair point that we could be getting excited over nothing, it could still turn out to be a new water main or something! Matt

bigstevet07 Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 ^ Below 125 feet could be anything though. It could be a new building. I hope it is a coaster though. As big as the footprint is, they could probably throw a couple of flats down too. They can use some of those too.
Hobbesx2 Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 Went there today (sorry no pics, dad got camera), looked exactly like it did in the wof blog. Except, where I believe the old Zambezi Zinger station was, which last year was just a big concrete slad next to the train tracks, is recently fenced off with some new paint and a lot of flags on it, as well as an arch structure made of pipes. Wonder if this could be the station or something.
astroworldfan1 Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 My hopes and dreams will be crushed if it isn't a Hannah Montanna ride. I've been praying. One can only imagine. -Tatum "Still has hope. I'll never stop believing"
Hobbesx2 Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 In the latest blog entry, Brandon said that one of the guesses in the previous entry ("many updates") was correct. I'm sorry to say nobody guessed a hannah montana ride. The guesses were: family ride/rollercoaster (similair to knotts) GCI woodie new haunt zambezi zinger 2 new section 1000 foot coaster (just a joke) skyhawk like flat ride maverick like intamin inverted impulse coaster rides from Geauga mine train water ride so we've narrowed it down to those 12, I guess...
