STR8FXXXINEDGE Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Big Mike, that was the best TR EVER! I'm super jealous that you guys got to ride. It looks like you guys had a blast! It's so awesome that you guys were able to ride and meet John, and have it all documented while doing so. This has been one of, if not my favorite installments of TBMRS! Thanks again Big Mike!
atem122 Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 That's an amazing experience you had there, I remember seeing that on Ripley's a long time ago and always being fascinated by it. John seems like a really nice and classy person too.
Mechanic Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Awesome update Big Mike! Backyard coasters have always interested me. Also, congratulations on getting your very own link on TPR.
philthephorce Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Wow! Congratulations, again, and thanks for the unique and awesome TR.
jray21 Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Wow, that was a great report! That is truly a unique and special place. Thanks for sharing it with us!
the ghost Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 That was awesome Big Mike, John Ivers is a rock star in the coaster building/riding world. He is kind of a legend, and I want a portable coaster with an inversion.
Chrissie Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Great TR Big Mike. What an awesome experience! I can't believe it has a loop, I really did not think it would work.
dino Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Great update Big Mike! I especially liked the coverage of Ivers "other" attractions .
dr.gumbo Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Very good trip report. Blue Flash looks awesome, and its far more interesting than most of these Vekoma/B&M clones.
cfc Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 I imagine that not only Mr. Ivers's coasters but also his slide, swing set, and propane tank are better than Son of Beast. Thanks for the report, Mike--and thank you to Mr. Ivers.
Mochtroid Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 So amazing. These are probably some rare credits too. This is one of your best TRs ever. If you make a top ten BMRS TR guide this would near the top.
Der Der Dongt Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Usually I just read along in the Big Mike Road show but I just have to agree here with everyone else! This is one of your best reviews ever!
Calicoasters Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Awesome TR Big Mike! I remember seeing the Blue Flash on TV last year, What an awesome coaster. I thinks it's the only inverting coaster I weigh too much to ride. I think the weight cut off is 200 pounds right? Glad to see the Blue Too is up and running, but I'm not glad you think it's better than Son Of Beast. I'm about to find out why next week!
dhh Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Awesome TR. I did not kow he had built a second coaster. They both look incredibly fun, but... ...that "swinging bench ride thing" makes me more than slightly nervous.
Meteornotes Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 I imagine that not only Mr. Ivers's coasters but also his slide, swing set, and propane tank are better than Son of Beast. Post Of The Day. dt
BeemerBoy Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 I imagine that not only Mr. Ivers's coasters but also his slide, swing set, and propane tank are better than Son of Beast. Not to mention, the car ride out to Mr. Ivers's house. AWESOME job, Big Mike!! That's one pretty elusive credit for sure. And also, huge thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Ivers as well!
froggypheebs Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 That was an awesome trip report! Probably one of the best I've ever read. Thanks for the exclusive coverage.
derwood Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Big Mike What a great addition to the BMRS! Thanks for the exclusive Indiana report. daron
BudtheWeiser Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Just a fantastic tr Big Mike My son has now demanded I build him his own backyard coaster lol
printersdevil78 Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Not to be a downer or anything, but I see no flags at Mr. Ivers' residence. Does no flags equal no fun? Yeah, it's been said before: This TR was amazing!
Kennyweird Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Very interesting. Blue Flash is definitely the most extreme homemade coaster in the country.
