Gosh, is there anything PAX don't make? Their shuttle loop coasters look INSANE - would love to give one a go.

I agree, they do look pretty crazy. I can't say that I've ever heard of the PAX Company before. Their rides look interesting to say the least...

Posted

I think that PAX did a very good job with their flyers. Much better job than some other companies did. PAX seems to make some very unique, medium-sized designs. I can see one of their coasters coming to a smaller US park like Beech Bend or a beach park.

Posted

Same here, I have never heard of PAX before. But some of their rides look absolutely insane, especially those serpent shuttles. Any parks with a PAX coaster in the US? Or are all their rides overseas?

EDIT: I just did an RCDB search, and it seems that all their listed coasters are overseas...

Interesting, no wonder Premier only has a new coaster every blue moon, they push maintenance services more than their rides.

maintenance/parts=constant flow of revenue between coaster projects.

IAAPA Re-Cap: Great Coasters International

Have you had enough steel the last couple of days? Well this morning I have got WOOD (get it...morning wood...lol) Take a look at this product portfolio, a close second to the Intamin Catalog. There are some beautiful shots of each gem of a coaster GCI has created. Can you really go wrong with GCI?

One of the best written sales brochures (from any industry) I have ever seen.

Shane - Are the aerial shots postcards individual postacrds from GCI

Posted

Those aerials are great... GCI has an awesome brochure! (Almost comparable to Intamin's...)

If only there was more about Rumbler...

Posted

I am looking forward to terminator even more now after realizing that all of GCI's top casters (with the exception of troy and thunderhead) are shorter than terminatr. Ozcat, Rumbler, Kinevil, they are all supposed to be gci's best coasters.

Posted

That is absolutely orgasmic. Those aerials are second to none. Utterly amazing.

And did anyone else notice that SFA's Roar is the only GCI that I see with an entirely level parabolic airtime hill?

IAAPA Re-Cap: Gerstlauer Amusement Rides GmbH

Well todays update is coming a little later than usual, things have been crazy at work and I finally have a second to post this info from Gerstlauer. I am hoping to get this IAAPA update over soon (there are a couple more from Mack and B&M) then I can get back to some good old stuff. Enjoy the high-tech wood and spinnies from Gerstlauer.

Wow, their wooden coaster information is completely in engrish. Very tough to read.

I love their bobsleds and spinners.

I'm really looking forward to the Mack stuff!

Here is a late night post for all your lift hill nerds out there. Don't have much to say about this, just thought it was something cool I saw at the show so thought I would share it here.

I am going to finish up this IAAPA re-cap by Saturday or Sunday. We have B&M tomorrow, Mack on Saturday and maybe some bonus pictures on Sunday. So those of you that are longing for the original format of Shane's Amusment Attic, fear not, we will be getting back to the good old stuff soon!

Chains...

Did anyone else find it ironic that the lift hill company used Hulk as their background silhouette coaster?

Anyway, interesting update. While I'm really looking forward to B&M and Mack, this was still a neat segment. I never pay attention to the chains...I guess they're a bit more involved than I imagined.

IAAPA Re-Cap: Bolliger & Mabillard

Well we are winding this IAAPA series up and what better way than with this great looking catalog from B&M. Would you expect anything less from this company?

On a side note, I must say Behemoth was the sleeper hit for me this season. I didn't expect too much from this B&M hyper but boy was I thrilled when I took my first ride (outside back seat). I am really looking forward to Diamondback!

IAAPA Re Cap: Mack

Well it has been a little difficult trying to gete the last installment of the IAAPA re cap posted with all this maintenance going on. Hopefully I will get through this post before it goes down on me again...(hey that sounds kind of dirty)

This post of the Mack catalog finishes up the re-cap of the IAAPA convention of 2008. Hope you have enjoyed it.

Thanks for posting all of those, I really enjoyed them.

I loved how simple B&M's catalog was, and I had no idea that Mack has been around for 225 years!
