Movies, Movies, Movies.....

^Oh my god, I used to love that movie. I remember when it was first on TV there were more commercials than movie and it took an entire week to get through it.

The storyline is interesting, but the movie falls into a lot of the same problems that made-for-TV movies have.

Watchmen...

I have to say I quite liked it.

Im not one for graphic novels, but when the first images came out from the movie, I had to pick up the book and read it.

And so going in I knew a little about what was going to happen.

And after many legal battles and the worst studio out there now nearly stopping the release, it finally came to my theater.

While it was a little long, it was still quite enjoyable.

Action was good (though a little to much was added), good acting, and most importantly in my mind, it was shot really amazingly.

Zach Snyder is a great director, and its hard to believe he has only directed 3 movies.

Better than the Dark Knight in my opinion.

9/10

PS- I had a revelation while at the movies last night.

It is something I thought I would never say, but I am.

I am done going to the theater to see movies.

....Gasp....

I'm just tired of hearing the whole audience talk to each other, while shoulder to shoulder, and the movie breaking down TWICE!!! during two very important scenes.

I have a much better theater in my living room, which never breaks, in the privacy of my home, and also plays PS3 games.

Call me back theater when you fix these things...

Watchmen 9.5/10

Pretty faithful to the book but not 100%. The new ending (SPOILER) made more sense in terms of Jon leaving Earth. Rorschach was awesome but I think he showed a little too much emotion, as I was expecting just cold, emotionless, flat deliveries of lines in the ink blot scene.

Also, no squid.

I saw Watchmen last night and I must say I was a little disappointed. The story was decent, but the movie really lacked in making me feel attached to any of the characters. And the finale seemed so distant and unemotional that I didn't really care what was going to happen. And I honestly don't understand the need for the constant nudity of Dr. Manhattan. It really detracted from the movie as did the several softcore porn scenes. I just think they failed at connecting the audience to the characters and ended up being a bunch of decent action scenes strung together without a real direction. Overall, I'd give it a 7/10. It was one of the better of the superhero movies, but could have been a lot better.

Stop Loss 7/10

I am not a big fan of anti-war movies or anything really preachy but overall the film is not bad and done in a matter where only the idea of a "Stop-Loss" is a bad idea. It is still not preachy and the mental problems after war are only briefly touched upon.

I am not sure I recommend it but it is not a bad movie by any means.

Next Up: Machinist, Seeker

I just saw Miss March last night and it was terrible in the best way possible. The film itself has been done a million times, and it is really just a bunch of "toilet humor" and a lot of the originality of the WKYK is not there. If you are actually watching this film and are watching it for content, you will be disappointed. If you are watching for something fun and un memorable, you will have a good time.

The Last House On The Left (2009)- Rating: 9/10

Extremely good movie and since it just debuted in theaters, I'm not going to spoil it for anybody. So all I'm going to say that It was 100% better than I originally though it was going be (I've never seen the original version). Thought it was going to be somewhere along the lines of "When A Stranger Calls" in that the trailer looked promising but the movie sucked. Intense from beginning to end and at various parts hard to look at. Must see movie!

Friday The 13th (2009)- Rating: 9/10

Extremely good! I was thoroughly impressed...I'm glad that they didn't butcher it. I can't really call it a remake because this version takes things that happened in the first three Jason films. I think this was a bit better than the "Halloween" remake...very intense, it had my attention all the way through. I like the fact that they had Jason running/moving faster in this (as we all know he can usually been seen doing his patented "menacing slow/disappear/then reappear" walk).

Patiently waiting for the Nightmare on Elm St. remake...in which was said it will happen.
