sfmmrules!
For those of you who got a flyer from Great America in the mail today know that there is going to be a new thrill ride for next year. It looks like yet another flat ride. Great America NEEDS coasters desperately! I won't be going back until they put in another coaster or 2 to make up for Stealth & Greased Lightnin. What are your opinions?
coaster05
They could turn your park into the finest water park in the area.
Sunfire
Can you say Screamin' Swing? That's what I'm guessing they're going to put. But they really should put a COASTER. They desperately need a new one. Either way, I'll be glad to see a new ride for 2008.
KGA29
Give us something! Anything! A screamin swing would probably be fine, as long as they don't remove anything to put it in. I'm trying to think of a good location, but the only place I could see them putting it in is behind Xtreme Skyflyer which is a better location for a coaster. We'll just have to wait and see. Loco
My bet is on a Screamin' Swing. After survivor, I am not looking for another thrill ride.
AT0527
I will not be visiting until they get a new coaster. A DECENT coaster that ISNT a clone.
sfmmrules!
I hate to say it looks like it will be a clone of Voodoo (at SFDK) based on the picture. I hate those kind of rides.
Tmcdllr
Well I am happy its a new ride instead of something for the stupid water park. But sad it is not a coaster. Come on cedar fair, this park really needs a couple of coasters.
cwsr
I would bet on it being the Texas Twister from the defunct Geauga Lake.
coastrfreak2000
It looks like a Mondial Splash Over, which is basically another version of the Huss Top Spin except with more comfortable seats and restraints. But I doubt it's going to be like the picture...it's probably Texas Twister.
Sunfire
Well, it's better than nothing. I just hope they don't remove any rides for it.
KGA29
I can't wait. A couple years ago, GA was going to get a Tomb Raider: Firefall type ride but plans fell through.
coasterguy618
Yes, it will probably be something from Geuaga Lake.
LcHg5265
Could it possibly be Tomb Raider from Kings Island?!
asimowalk
It's a picture of Cliffhanger at Wonderland (Mondial Splashover). They used the same thing for KDs TRFF ads so it could be any top spin really... but I think the top spin is definitely confirmed.
Sunfire
It does sound fun. I've only been on one Top Spin, at SFDK. But that was a while ago. I don't remember what they feel like.
sfmmrules!
Could they be tricking us meaning it could turn out to be a coaster like Italian Stunt Job or Hypersonic or does thrill ride mean its really a flat?
TheRapidsNerd
If you go by RCT3 lingo, thrill rides are a separate class from coasters, hence a topspin/splashover/sniglet would be a thrill ride. Ditto on what others have said about Texas Twister from GL. I'd say it was something else that starts with an A, but I'd be shot over that old joke. Sunfire
I'd say it was something else that starts with an A, but I'd be shot over that old joke. *shoots TheRapidsNerd*. That would be awesome if we could get a coaster from Intamin.
man
cant be the one from GL the lap bar part is missing. IMO the rows look way to long for a normal topspin.
carolinacaniac
^That may not mean anything though, since it is just a sort of concept art for and advirtisement. If the picture of an ad was to show exactly what the ride was going to be like, then there would be an El Toro clone at Cypress Gardens. I am getting on the Texas Tornado from Geauga Lake bandwangon. Sunfire
Well, in that case, it may be a Screamin' Swing after all. But I'm pretty positive it's not going to be an A... (don't even need to say the whole word).
coasterbilly
Screamin Swing or Top Spin, it's not that hard to figure out, the ad doesn't mean it's the actual ride itself, just an idea of what it will look like. Either way, I've been on many Screamin Swings, and different sizes from Dorney's small one to Cedar Point and Lake Compounce's big ones and they are lots of fun. Top Spins are also fantastic because the program it runs vary sometimes, and they are freakin fun!
Angry_Gumball
Screamin' Swings don't use shoulder restraints, do they? I know this is ultra fantasizing, but when I first saw the picture, my first thought was "Hmm...Dive Machine?" Looking at the picture, I did happen to see 10 across, and the restraints did look very B&M-ish to me at first. Upon closer looking, the picture has to be a Mondial Splashover due to the fact that the hand grips on the restraints are lower. (Yes, I scaled it down so it would be easier to see the whole thing.) Loco
^ I remember that picture clearly. It was when Paramount was doing those park surveys a few years ago for TRFF. IMO a top spin would be cool, but...they always get toned down after like the first season. So im not sure what to think of a Top Spin
