kraxleRIDAH
The new thrillride going into Great America next season IS going to be the Texas Twister HUSS Top Spin relocated from Geauga Lake. It's not an S&S Screaming Swing or a new roller coaster.

raptor6
If I was a betting man, I would put my money on the Huss Top Spin, Texas Twister, from Geauga Lake, just like many people above me have posted. However, if Great America does receive a Screaming Swing, would the smaller up-charge 8 seat version like the one at Dorney Park or would it be a larger 32 or 40 seat model such as the one at Cedar Point? sfmmrules!
I don't care GA is getting a new ride. I didn't go at all this year & I'm not going back until they add 2 big coasters to make up for Stealth & Greased Lightnin. Come on Cedar Fair give us COASTERS! GA doesn't need anymore flat rides!!! Loco
^ So true. They have been so into their BB the past few years. I hate to say this but hopefully after the recent death at BB their jets cooled off about adding new stuff to the waterpark for a long while and decide add a coaster soon (like next year please!) chmilo24
I really want it to be a Screamin Swing but I know its a Top Spin. *sigh* But what happened to the coasters? You spoil Cedar Point with them but neglect Great America. Just take out Grizzly and put in GravityGroup super coaster!!!
SpartanTS
For those of you who got a flyer from Great America in the mail today... Well, us Carowindians got a flyer in the mail in 2004. We'd like to let you know that you can have it back. We'll mail it back to you the same way you sent it to us. We'll happily take Dominator and put it in its place. Sincerely, Carowinds- Home of the used vekoma flyer.

KGA29
^ I would gladly take Stealth back over Boomerang Bay anyday! I'm not sure I would, but I would still like Stealth back. Maybe if BB had been built somewhere else (though I don't know where). Anyone got any ideas for a name? I don't think Texas Twister would fit (although it was in Ohio) and I don't think Tomb Raider is possible. Will they go with Thunderhawk like WoF? Or Riptide like the floorless top spins at VF and KBF? A new name and logo?

With all the rides on the way out of Geauga Lake, Great America is not going to get a brand new Top Spin like the $3-million-a-piece Floorless ones at Knott's and Valleyfair! What WILL happen is Texas Twister will be relocated there, be repainted, renamed and then reintroduced as if it were a brand new ride.

I have no doubt that the actual ride will be Texas Twister from GL.
kraxleRIDAH
Oh okay. I misinterpreted your typing. If anything it'll be some generic name. $20 it will be called Thunderhawk.

Alpenguy
Having spent far too many summer days at PGA growing up, and as a former Top Gun operator, I have but one thing to say: Weak. Aside from Psycho Mouse, that'll make it an even 10 years since PGA got a real coaster that's still there. 10 years. 2009 better be time to match the new addition in Canada I say. speedracer
On the plus side, good to finally get a new mechanical ride in the park. A solid addition that, unlike the years of meager, operationally cost-saving additions to BB, isn't seasonal and can actually be enjoyed every operating hour of every operating day. And as others have said, without the loss of an exisiting ride, sure got tired of Paramount consistantly ripping out 1 or 2 rides every year they owned the park. Still no incentive for me to visit next season (don't like Top Spins), but I'll cut CF some slack for now. Being that this is the first year they've had the decision of what to add to GA, this is fine for a start. If CF has any mercy on us they'll burn the embarrasingly craptacular Grizzly to the ground next year and replace it with some wood that's actually rideable for 2009/10. Axman
I've been to PGA sooooooooo many times between 1999-2003. I had such a hard time seeing Stealth go. It was the worst decision in Paramount history. they gave up the title of "WORLD"S FIRST FLYING COASTER" for a mediocre waterpark. Even though I live in TN, I'm still praying for GA. They need to buldoze Grizzly and build a Initman woodie like Balder. I'd f***ing die for a Balder clone. It's my most saught after coaster. chmilo24
The name of the ride depends on where it is going in the park. Besides, they will have to get a new coaster soon, if SFDK is getting a Tony Hawks Big Spin, they probably will get Steel Venom from Geauga Lake. Angry_Gumball
Not to mention, it would be kinda pointless as again, there would be a slight clone up the road a bit...plus, where would they put that long of a coaster at in there? My hopes would be to either completely retrack grizzly (and give it more airtime instead of long drawn out hills) or scrap it and put in a new woodie in the future. chmilo24
^ ^^ What I meant is that they will probably get some clone. What they should do is take out Grizzly and put in either a half-pipe coaster or LIM/LSM coaster to go along with the Xtreme thing they have at that side of the park. Loco
^ I say take out Grizzly and add something like Maverick in that spot. Now that will make my life complete.
Sunfire
Okay, now I'm pissed. SFDK gets a new coaster for next season. When the hell is GA going to get one? Is Cedar Fair just going to let this park go to waste? I really hope they have something good planned for the future (can you say Intamin?). kraxleRIDAH
^ Discovery Kingdom may be a getting a small spinning coaster next year, but it doesn't have a relatively good free-with-admission water park like Great America's Boomerang Bay. I'd say it's about even.
Sunfire
^Good point. The water park is a relief on hot days. But I really think they should have kept Stealth. And Tidal Wave (Greezed Lightnin'). And Triple Play. Seriously, why did they even take out Triple Play?
