I predict the Colts D is going to chew up the Seahawks on Sunday. And Manning will have a money day. Seattle is playing without the starting QB on Sunday.

The Seahawks coaching staff is planning to play this week without quarterback Matt Hasselbeck and left tackle Walter Jones.

Jones hasn't played in a game yet this season, and was a game-time decision for last week's loss against the Bears. He's still experiencing pain in his oft-repaired left knee.

Hasselbeck, meanwhile, still can't run and is struggling to take a deep breath because of his broken rib. (Running and breathing: often integral to football.) Having Hasselbeck play on turf against the Colts without Jones by his side (Or Jones' backup Sean Locklear, also out) sounds like a recipe for disaster anyhow.

Seattle will have to pull off a major upset with Seneca Wallace leading the way to avoid a 1-3 start, but it did get some positive injury news Wednesday.

Linebacker Lofa Tatupu is expected to return to the lineup and Ken Lucas, tackle Brandon Frye, guard Rob Sims and free safety Jordan Babineaux should all play.

The Seahawks had to activate two offensive lineman Wednesday off their practice squad "just to make sure we could practice" according to Mora. Linebacker William Thomas and wide receiver Logan Payne were cut to make room.

Of course, stranger things have happened. Come on Manning, I need to put the hurt down on BM in FF.

I think Rivers is next on my cut list in fantasy football.....need to pick up a defense for my bye week.

EDIT: Tom Brady is a freaking pansy. He was legally touched (hit) and complained until he got a flag thrown for him. As Someone on NBC's broadcast team said, take off the skirt Brady.

Yeah, don't let your Colts fanboyism skew your perceptions.

Actually, that was more in a moment post. I now say the official was wrong. Not Brady. Brady is just doing what every other QB would do and act to get a flag called. It wasn't until Brady started to jump around the official threw the flag that wasn't needed.

Officiating has been atrocious this year.

Any worse than year's past?

So far, yes. There have been many screw-ups and blown calls thus far:

Putting aside the calls already discussed,

-Stefan Logan's fumble - his forward momentum was CLEARLY stopped. The Chargers were holding him up and just took the ball from him.

-Jerome Harrison's fumble - same thing, his momentum was stopped, but they gave Cincinnati a TD.

-Mohamed Massaquoi's big play to the 1 yardline - That looked like a TD to me.

-Graham's FG - I still think it was no good.

And these calls are just from this past week alone, and are simply off the top of my head! Pathetic!

You didn't realize that the "guy" in the NBC booth that made that comment was Rodney Harrison? The comment was a joke, as he said after the game. Anyways, when it comes to the physical nature of the game, Rodney is a bit of a hypocrite. He does think the rules for QBs aren't physical enough, yet he fails to realize that they are just the equivalent of the same rules defensive players have. Of course, the one time he flipped out was when a player dove illegally at HIS knees that put him on the sidelines for the season. Can't have it both ways.

A couple of things to clear up, first, it was an illegal hit. To begin with, it was a late hit. The ball has in the air for a good 2-3 seconds before Suggs hit him, so there is automatically a flag. Second, he dove for the knees. There is another flag. As for the "Oh, he barely touched him", well, that is only because Brady manged to move out of the way. Had Brady stood his ground, we might be looking at another serious injury. As Pereira explained, the point of the "roughing the passer" rules is to PREVENT players for hitting high/low. He wants them to air on the side of caution so that the players don't think they can dive for knees so long as they don't cause an injury.

Finally, the idea of a "Brady" rule is a bit ridiculous. The 2nd "roughing the passer" penalty that was called against Suggs was for diving low at his knees. That has been in the rule books for a LONG time. The "new" rule, that was instituted after Pollard injured Brady is that once a player is already down on the ground, they can't go after the QBs feet/legs. Completely different rule. Also, I think it would be more fitting to bill it the "Pollard" rule since it is HIS fault, not Brady.

Love how you didn't read my comment later on down the way. I posted that in a moment of being mad. First mad at Brady, then realized that any QB will do that. Did it hurt Brady, no. The flag was thrown after Brady started hoping up and down and pointing at the offending player. HAd he not done this, a flag possibly would not have been thrown. LEt the refs do their job, I think the official wasn't going to throw a flag because the player did not intend to hit Brady. He fell, it was in Brady's general direction. He touched Brady. So what, it is football. It is a contact sport. If they are going throw a flag for inadvertantly touching a QB, just throw a red jersey on every QB and put flags on him so that when the flags are thrown, he is sacked without being hardly touched.

I was told I was a Colts homer, I am, but this was not me being a Colts homer as much as taking the contact out of Football. How about trying not to be a Patriots homer.

BTW, watch the play.

Snuggs tripped. HE fell towards Brady becasue that was the way he was moving.

Rodney might be joking, but Dungy told it how it was, it was a bad call.

Hey, I wasn't "correcting" you or anything, I just wanted to put my opinion out there and clear up some confusion.

However, I do think that it was likely intentional. Matt Light barely touched him (on the shoulder), if he just "tripped", than why did he flat out DIVE straight at Brady, lower his head, and stick out his arm right at Brady's knee? I'm not buying it.

As for being a "Homer", this has nothing to do with Brady. It's about the rules. I don't understand how people are complaining that QBs don't get hit now. They still take BRUTAL hits. There is no other player who is as vulnerable nor takes as many blind-sided hits as a QB. As I said earlier, the rules are very similar as they are on the other side of the ball. There are TONS of illegal hits/blocks on the offensive, defensive, and ST side of the ball (like the crackback block). The League just realizes that it might be good to keep players on the field. It does the league no good (nor the game) to lose QBs to serious injuries.

Don't take it lightly, either. Diving at the knees, picking up and pile driving a QB, and hitting a QB in the head all lead to serious injuries. The game is still very physical and violent, but you shouldn't sacrifice all safety.

Unfortunately, when there's nothing but Patriots bashing coming from someone, your comment is not going to carry a lot of weight, like in the case. I get your position, but we've been hearing you gripe about the Pats for years now.

First, its Suggs. And yes, he was already falling. My only defense for Brady is, that he's already lost one season do to a knee injury, I'd be a little skittish too.

Rodney might be joking, but Dungy told it how it was, it was a bad call.

Again, major knee injury, I'd be skittish. Rodaney Harrison is a dolt anyway, as is most of the NBC crew. Hi we're SportsCenter circa 1994!

I can deal with the hit on the knee being a roughing the passer penaly, even though he was already falling down and wasn't trying to.

But the other roughing penalty when the hand just barely touched the helmet, not causing anything. Now that was stupid and never should have been called.

It is penalties and calls like this that make me continually spew the phrase

"Football is so much less manly then Hockey," so much in my life.

"Oh no I was touched, he touched me, penalty penalty!!"

I understand roughing the passer but unless he gets HIT and I don't mean bumped or touched I mean HIT like a man, no flag.

I think it was just the fact that Tom Brady looked down, expected the call, then had a huge fist pump when the call was made, like he was expecting the call to be made.

It is a fine line with these types of calls. Quarterbacks are the stars and the league wants to protect its starts.

When are they gonna start protecting running backs? I'd say the average lifespan of a great NFL back is about 5 seasons. And what about linemen? Or wideouts who specialize in slant routs over the middle? And how about kickers? I mean, there's a lot of mental anguish suffered if someone misses a crucial kick. Just look at Ray Finkle.

Mr. Goodell, it's time to make this a flag football league, pronto. Who's with me?

Vanderjagt came to mind when you said that. I believe that, to this very day, he is still the most accurate kicker in NFL history, yet that missed FG against the Steelers in the playoffs in 2005 pretty much ended and ruined his career.
