Homeboy23
Holmes dropped too many balls. He did drop a few but a lot of the passes weren't thrown good either. You could tell the difference in D without Polamalu.

Guest
Not only did Philly lose they got spanked. Drew Brees looks like superman out there. If he keeps playing like he has the first two weeks that will be a fun division race to watch.

mcjaco
Interesting, as to the heated discussion last week. Peter King's top twelve QB's of all time: 1. Otto Graham. Easy. Ten seasons, seven championships, seven passing titles. 2. Sammy Baugh. Had the best season of any player ever in 1943. Led the NFL in passing, punting and, as one of the best safeties in football, in interceptions. 3. Joe Montana. Made everyone copy Walsh's high-tech offense, and won four titles in a decade. 4. Johnny Unitas. First great modern quarterback, and great in the clutch. He'd be higher if he won more than one title in his last 14 seasons. 5. Brett Favre. Most durable, most productive quarterback of all time. Marred by only one title. 6. Peyton Manning. Could break every record if Favre ever retires. Needs another championship or two to climb the list. 7. John Elway. Two titles, though they came late, capped the career of a Unitas-type with legs. 8. Dan Marino. Prototype dropback quarterback who, arguably, was the model for the pocket quarterback of the last 40 years. 9. Roger Staubach. Might be the best player/athlete/leader of a quarterback ever, and he edges Steve Young in my book with a second title and three more title-game appearances. 10. Tom Brady. Three Super Bowl wins by age 27, and a fourth appearance at 30. 11. Bart Starr. All he did was win -- five NFL titles, including the first two Super Bowl titles, both ending with him being MVP. 12. Terry Bradshaw. Rebounded from a horrible start to his career to lead the Steelers to four Super Bowls in six years.

mcjaco
^ I laughed when I saw 12 QB's. That's usually the sign of a guy that can't decide on who to cut off for a list of 10.
bigstevet07
I'm actually surprised he has Brady that low. King is a noted Patriot homer. It definitely has to do with the era you grow up in I guess. I would have never ranked Graham and Baugh that high, even though I do know that they were the best at the position for their era. Orton 2-0 no TO's... Cutler 1-1 5 TO's, I'm sure that won't last much longer, weeks 4-11 are going to be really tough for Denver.

holyblakbelt
Did anyone see the amazing pass by Favre to win the Vikings game? That was crazy! Also, has anyone heard about a defensive Delay of Game? Me neither.
spaceace12
The only game I watched today was the Colts game. Talk about a blow out. Was scary for the first few possessions by each team. The Colts just blew open the doors and Peyton did almost 600 yards of offense.

Also, has anyone heard about a defensive Delay of Game? Me neither. Favre's throw was great, but I think Greg Lewis is not getting enough credit for the catch. If he didn't have great awareness to drag that foot, the Niners win. Defensive delay of game is normally when the NT or one of the DT swats the ball before the Cente can snap it. Did anyone see the Seahawks green jerseys yesterday? They were god awful. On a final note, somewhere Ryan Leaf is smiling. Not because of the oxycotin he's taking, but because Jamarcus Russel is proving to be worse than Leaf ever was.

Also, has anyone heard about a defensive Delay of Game? Me neither. Is it me, or does it look like the receivers foot was on the end line when he came down? The officiating in the Bears/Sehawks game was bruttal. For both sides.
bigstevet07
^^ Good point Scott, I didn't think about Leaf's off the field stuff. But as a QB, Jamarcus is just horrible. I still don't know why they cut Garcia before the season started. ^At first I thought the receiver's foot might have been on the white too. But that angle from the back of the end zone shows a little green in between, although not very much.
BeemerBoy
Just a quick programming note. The high school Game of the Year is this Friday, October 2nd, at 8:00pm on ESPNU. It's only the fourth time a national No. 1 and No. 2 have played each other in the regular season. I so wish I could've made it back home for this one. Info. Go Raiders! holyblakbelt
^^ I agree with you. At first I thought he caught it out of bounds, but when I saw it both of his feet were barely in the endzone. I can't wait for the border battle on Monday Night Football. It will be a barnburner for sure.
BeemerBoy
My football weekend sucked a big one, but watching Tebow get jacked up sure was pleasant.
Hercules
I'm not entirely sure how much worse my football weekend could have gone. First Penn State, then the Redskins.
ParkTrips
Forget BCS games, could Boise State end up playing for the national title? Ranked #5 in both the AP and USA Today polls, three of the teams ahead of them are SEC teams so only one of them could possibly run the table between regular season matchups and the championship game. Question is whether or not they would move up enough to have the polls high enough to trump a weak SOS Scott, look at it this way: Miami got their three tough ACC games out of the way. Its very possible for them to go 7-1 in conference. You just gotta hope VT drops 2, which I think is much more likely than Miami losing another one
bigstevet07
^I wish Boise St could crash the BCS title game, but Texas will make the title game if they run the table as well. Even if Boise crushes teams like they have been, it won't be enough to offset the strength of schedule Texas will have from the Big 12. That hit on Tebow was crazy. At first i thought for sure he dipped his helmet, but it looks more and more like he got shoulder pads instead. That was the first time I've ever said "he may be dead," after seeing hit. It was just creepy seeing him lie there motionless and his teammates around him were completely shocked.
Homeboy23
I highly doubt Boise State will be in the title game. The way the BCS is they would have to hope for a few teams to have 2 losses. It is sad but that is the way it is.
BeemerBoy
That hit on Tebow was crazy. That was the first time I've ever said "he may be dead," after seeing hit. I had this exact thought once. We were in the corner of that end zone in the middle of the FSU section (right where I wanna be for smack talk ), when this happened.... I looked at my friend and said that exact thing, "he may be dead." The Noles fan next to me said, "They might both be dead." In fact, if memory serves me correctly, they both ended up in the hospital. And while we're on the topic of big hits, I feel I need to even the U-FSU score..... (Explicit Lyrics) Man, I miss Sean Taylor. I'm sure Jay does too.
