I'm not being confrontational. I'm just saying, there is no need to agrue with people like this. If you make a point, do something about it. Don't argue a point on here.

Most people seem to only remember the Dog Fighting, most people outside of Atlanta don't remember the Ron Mexico nonsense and getting grilled by cops in MIA about hidden compartments in water bottles, flipping off the hometown fans because he stinked up the field. On top of all that he isn't a good Quarterback.

Most corporations don't hire convicted felons, i don't get why most people think him getting back into the NFL is his birth right or something. His and his criminal brother deserve nothing more than flipping burgers at McDonalds.

I do have to say THANK YOU to the Eagles though, now when they talk about him hopefully the Falcons won't be mentioned and they will have some new footage to show. Good Riddance at last.

^^Working in HR, you should also know that there is always loopholes. I still believe that if someone is talented enough, a company will find a way to sneak them in.

But aside from that, Michael Vick isn't applying to work at McDonalds. He meets the NFL screening guidelines, so it's kind of a weak argument to say if you or I were convicted dogfighters we couldn't find a job. Because the reality is that if you or I were as athletic as Michael Vick, we would have gotten the same second chance he's getting.

Again, I don't agree that he is being given a second chance...but I also don't think anyone is doing anything wrong by offering him that chance.

The law says nothing about him going back to work. He just finished his time...you shouldn't accept this either, most companies (like the ones us average folk accept as work) conduct background checks, especially for large, global, or national companies. If any of us had this sorted background, we certainly wouldn't be hired...so why should this guy?

Half of Washington D.C. is corrupt, yet it doesn't stop Americans from voting them into office though. And sadly enough, him playing football again for a paycheck is really no different from any other scumbag ex-felon. Take a look at your state's sex offender data base, for instance. Might surprise you to see who's living down the street, or even next door. Amazingly, many of them have found new jobs too.

Also, the way I see it, there's a bigger travesty out there anyway.

What Michael Vick did was illegal. He was busted by the federal government. Seriously, it doesn't get any higher than that. Regardless of whether one agrees or disagrees with his sentence, the fact remains that the man served his time, was made an example of, and was docked a LARGE sum of money in the process. He will also remain on a very short leash (I couldn't avoid that term, lol) by both the NFL, his own team, and law enforcement for a long time. BUT, he will still make what is to you and me, some serious cash.

Here's the travesty part. Pete Rose did NOTHING remotely close to what Vick did. The man made a huge mistake by gambling on the game of baseball, and continues to suffer financially because of it. Not because Johnny Law has hurt him (although he did serve a short stint for tax evasion following his ban from baseball), but mostly because of sanctions from a private entity who has held a grudge. Now you tell me, who's more screwed over, and what's really worse....Michael Vick never doing any time at all, or Pete Rose being blackballed for the rest of his life?

At least Vick was punished before being forgiven. Rose is still waiting for that forgiveness, which is essentially the ability to get back into baseball and make a better living.

^If the NFL was as strict as baseball when it comes to law breakers, there would be a lot of QB's, and Kickers around, probably some O-Linemen too.

And before you start on an off-topic tangent, Steroids is not illegal as far as I know in actual law but correct me if I am wrong and then go back to football!

^ Possession of anabolic steroids, considered a controlled substance, could get you a year in jail. The selling of steroids could land you in jail for 5 years.

I was eating lunch today and it dawned on me - if Michael Vick can get back into the NFL, why can't Pete Rose be in the Hall of Fame?

Because the people who vote for the Hall of Fame have a "holier than thou" attitude and won't go for it, just like Vick could put up Manning/Brady numbers and never even come close to the Hall. Was Rose ever convicted of intentionally blowing games ie cheating? Cause at least Vick never cheated and tarnished the results of a game that we know of

but I'm also glad that he's drawing attention to just how horrible dogfighting is. Even if it is all fake, it's still going to have a positive impact.

and isn't that what one of the big animal rights activists said about it too?

I've been a lifelong Philadelphia EAGLES fan and I'm sure not running away from everything I put into this team now. I believe Michael Vick served his PUNISHMENT in jail for 1 and a half years. I believe in the judiciary branch of our country doing it's job. I'm fine with him signing, giving him a second chance and move into the future. I want him to turn a page as much as I want to in my personal life.

^I agree somewhat. I love the Eagles and I believe that people should get a second chance but, I am also a dog lover and I am finding it hard to forgive him. Everytime I see him I see the dogs that were affected by him and It's really hard for me to forget that. As for Vick playing I just want to know what they are going to do with McNabb and Vick. Should be intresting.

Forget him succeeding in life and getting a second chance, as a Falcons fan and nothing more i so want to see him fail miserably ON THE FIELD. I have never wished any opposing player to get hurt but i would love to see John Abraham put some hurt on him in week 13.

The Falcons ownership and fans put so much into him and he lied to each and every one, including the guy writing him checks for $130 million. You can believe somebody who lied once or twice, this guy is a habitual liar and cheat. A leopard will never change his spots.

Well a couple things so far into the season are a bit eye popping.

Washington Haynesworths and the Redskins- What happened to $100 million?

Oakland- Was this a fluke or just Dallas being Dallas?

Indy- Lost to the Favre-less vikes?

Detroit- A win! yay! A win!

Should be an interesting season. After seeing simms play in place of orton, I feel a little bit better.

It is going to be a very long year for bronco fans...

I really hope so. (in the voice of Eric Cartman):

I really hate those guys.

My take on the Michael Vick thing. I think it is sad that Donte Stallworth will miss LESS playing time for killing a human than Vick did for the dog fighting. Not condoning what Vick did, was horrible, but does it really make sense?

Also, this sort of thing is not only the sports world. A certain senator drove off a bridge and killed someone and got a wrist slap.

^ That is completely what I was saying about Vick.

Anyway, my team (Panthers) start there pre season tomorrow. Hopefully Peppers won't be too mad with the franchise tag and play like he can all season.

I think we all have to look at the bigger picture with the Vick thing in terms of what he did. He killed many dogs in a brutal fashion, and also ran an illegal operation for a long period of time. Just to note.

Anyway, I'm a little scared of what the Redskins are doing already. I know it is preseason and all, but come on. I don't see an offense at all.

Dear Brett FAvre,

You should have retired while on top with the Packers. You are a great player, but great players needed to quit while they are ahead. Thank you.

Brett Favre, who three weeks ago had told coach Brad Childress that he would remain retired, signed a deal Tuesday with the Minnesota Vikings.

The deal is worth between $10 million to $12 million, according to ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen.

The Vikings made it official with a news release early Tuesday afternoon. A news conference to introduce Favre is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET.

The first inkling that something was afoot came early Tuesday, when two television stations in Hattiesburg, Miss., and Minneapolis reported that the Vikings had sent a private plane to Hattiesburg to pick up Favre.

Coach Brad Childress, who greeted the Favres at the airport, had confirmed the planned meeting in an e-mail to The Associated Press. Asked if the plan was to sign Favre, Childress replied: "In a perfect world."

Favre, 39, and his wife, Deanna, arrived in Minnesota in the early afternoon, getting off a team plane at a small St. Paul airport and getting into an SUV after shaking hands with the ground crew.

Trent Dilfer reacts to Brett Favre's return to the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings. Dilfer says it's worked out well for Favre, but he's not sure it will work out well for the Vikings.

Childress' wish for a perfect world came true shortly afterward, when the Vikings announced the signing. The deal had been pending a physical. By 2 p.m. ET, he was observed at Vikings practice in Eden Prairie, Minn., wearing a No. 4 jersey and a helmet, while stretching and warming up.

You are right, I said it in my head that the need needed to be past tense, but didn't post it that way. As for the name, I just typed it as I said it. I corrected it.
