Airtime&Gravity
Finally SFGAM opened, and the park was dead even though there was a dance festival going on. The longest wait was only 15minutes for my final ride on Viper! I had a great time, and this should be a great year for the park. The ride ops were great, Wiggles World was crowded, the food was horribly overpriced, and the rides ran great. Viper and Bull ran great, and Giant Drop still reminds me that it can still scare me. So, if you were one of those who read these things, here are the photos. If you just go to the photos, a curse will be placed on your soul. Who takes a limo to an amusement park? LOL These are LIM's, they make a train go really fast really quickly. Up, up, and away zoom...zoom...zoom I wonder if this has ever been closed by the health department... At least it didn't pull a Togo, but it sure felt like one. Revy was actually open! GAM got the worst IMO GP quote of the day, "Owwww" but slowed down in the day Blue was fast in the morning... Viper is still the park's best ride. The trims weren't on hard Raging Bull was awesome Elissa, "Awwww" They look too happy to be on Demon. being closed Deja vu doing what it does best... Deja vu through the trees Not an Elissa friendly ride ACE friendly sign Extreme close up Five people on the ride, operations at the park kicked @$$ I love this photo Hey Derek This is what we in the coaster geekdom call a lift hill B:TR continues to be a great ride. Wonder World...Wonder World...oh, wait

pvcoasterguy
^ I doubt that it matters. Â Anyway, nice TR! I love the fact that Raging Bull was running three trains, even though it was dead! Â The park looks very nice, and this is sure to be a very promising season, especially from an operations standpoint. They're always good at Great America, but they appear to be getting better each year.
RRollergod
How has the employees acting there? Are they as bad as if they were from SFMM? Â Also, do I see missing wheel covers on B:TR?
TexTitan01
I noticed that too, was it just one train that was missing them? or one side of one train?
Airtime&Gravity
You know, I didn't notice that until now. I think just the one train is missing them, and if you look closely, you can tell only one side is missing them.(look at car exiting zero-g roll)
ginzo
I need to get back to SFGAm. I'm still missing more than half of the credits there. If only it was that dead when I went.
CoasterNut17
^^ You can see those covers in the station when you are on the block brakes. They've been off for a couple seasons now. I just took a trip there today, a PTR will come. GREAT pics! Bull's operations went pretty well today, but later when they switched ops, they had all three trains sitting on the brakes (for like 5 minutes)! SFGAm Shock Wave
Woah, why were there lap bars still up on American Eagle? I have never seen em up, they are always pushed down in empty seats...wierd  The rule on lapbars at Eagle and Viper is that if both seats in the row are empty, the lapbars don't need to be closed. coasterlover04
How has the employees acting there? Are they as bad as if they were from SFMM? Also, do I see missing wheel covers on B:TR?  The wheel covers are currently on one of the trains. The second train should have theirs on within a few weeks.  With the Eagle and Viper lap bars. If the row is empty, they can remain up. If one or two people are in the row, both must be pushed down.  Our employees are great. Lots of them are energetic and have a great time. Although, at times there are a few flaky ones, but those come with every job.

Airtime&Gravity
Well SFGAM has only been open a few weeks, and it is already pulling in huge crowds. Today there was about every imaginable youth group at the park.(band, sport, dance, choir, religious, etc.) The crowd control was poor, and the park seemed really short on staff. However, the staff that were there did a great job, and they were really working hard. I really think they were caught off guard with how big the crowds were. As for the crowds, along with every type of youth group, you had every type of personality there, and the majority was a gangster/ get out of my way type of behavior with the visitors who weren't in a youth group. There was also a lot of kids playing basketball games in the middle of the midway, and about every kid between 5 and 12 was wearing healies. I had fun, but it was just a real unpleasant trip. Sorry about some of the blurry photos, but I had to take them quickly before some kid walked in to it. Carousel Plaza just before closing time I love Whizzer's station Aquatrax! Whizzer through the trees Viper was running great today Signature shot #2 Hey Derek Southwest Territory looks great in the evening The mission looks great in the evening Airtime 202 feet in the air Signature shot, RollermanDan would be proud Hey Jahan Giant paper weight photo #2 Giant paper weight photo #1 Johnny Rockets will replace Wascals I'm an angry eagle thing, they tore down my awesome entrance, gimmie some candy SFGAM got a Wii area too, and I found that out today Wow, revy hasn't broken down yet Wow, they are serious about line jumpers Worst station ever PAIN! One of my favorite places to eat at SFGAM One of my favorite elements to photograph Yukon Territory reminds me a lot of SFSTL zero-g through the...oh, you know how it ends Batman...through the loop Hey Silver Bullet, this is a good drop Elissa "Awwww" Extreme close up Yankee Clipper through the trees Corkscrews are fun Hey Derek There are so many emotions being expressed in this photo Whizzer is still a favorite of mine
Guest
I thought the park was staffed well: SUF, Ragin Cajun, BTR, V2, Raging Bull were all using boarding passes. Â I'm excieted, every ride in the park has been open except DejaVu and Sky Trek Tower which should be open for next weekend, so once that happens every single ride in the park will be open, including all kiddies, flats, waters, and both Eagles with 2 trains each side (which obviosley has been that way all year). DarkMeasures
And I remember the park seeming to be pretty crappy in maintenance back in 2003.

I actually got to go today, and we could have met since I was basically a single rider. Oh well...I pretty much agree with everything you said in there, except I didnt have time for Batman, V2 or Wolf. More reason for me to go back though
