SheiKra first floorless train unveiling.

Recommended Posts

Members of the American Coaster Enthusiasts were invited out to Busch Gardens Tampa to particapte in the annual High School Journalism Day. A day in which local high school students are invited to the park to experience being a part of the working media. Part of the days activities is to unveil a new train setup on one of the parks main attractions SheiKra. The park has decided to upgrade this roller coaster with floorless versions of its trains. The ride will be switched over to foorless in the coming months but this is the first of the five to be switched. We enjoyed about an hour of Exclusive Ride Time on SheiKra and then we were invited along with the media for the trains official unveiling. Lots of photos and many gave interviews as this was one of the reasons the park asked enthusiasts to join in the days activities. Always great to get ride time on SheiKra and even better to be at a Media Event with the official unveiling. Below are lots of closeups of the new floorless SheiKra train and and photos of the announcement.

I love how if you're sitting in the middle two rows, it's really not "floorless".

Of course, as with the old trains, your feet dont touch the floor, so it really doesn't matter either way.

p.s. Thanks for the update Johnny! You know we love them! I think it's cool that the park was holding this day for HS students. Very nice.

Im going to miss the old trains. I liked SheiKra just the way it is. But this will only make the wow factor even higher. Its going to be a little bit different ride experience sitting on the outside seat. Oh well, hopefully its a good change.

The car looked pretty cool up close and it was pretty cool to be able to get a real up close look at the train. I love the mechanical side of roller coasters, you know the nuts and bolts how it all works.

How long do you think they'll keep the train there, I going to BGT May 12th and I wouldn't mind getting a couple of pictures of this. Looking at the train close up at the park is like looking at a new car in the mall to me, which is pretty special.

I think it will be there tell they close the ride end of May, there is a big counter next to the new train showing how many more days left tell it reopens.. It will be behind a metal fence but it should be there.

These new trains really have kind of a "Montu look" to them. With this change even more people are going to want to ride the front row.Busch Gardens should make a change to the station and separate the front row from the other two. Many times there's like 3 people in the back lane and 2 in the middle since the line just bunches up with people waiting for the front so people who want to ride in the back can't get through!!

Yay they look great!!! Im pretty sure its the same old trains with some modifications to them though, but thats not really a bad thing I guess. Only reason Im saying that is because that platform covers up the brake thingy that usualy is hidden below the floored platform. But hey, whatever, I dont care!

Really? You must be short. I can touch the floor in all rows. I can even put my feet over the guard rail at the drop.

Yeah, let me say the first time I rode Shiekra I seriously thought I was going to die.

And now, we can relive that experience....just without a floor. If you haven't ridden it, when you're on the end seats on the front row it's like you're hanging there anyway, without a floor, it'll be a total hang feeling, as there's no bar in front of you now.

I can't effing wait
