It's impressive how much you seem to be trying to compensate for something. Flyers beat the Pens last game, Pens beat the Flyers this game. I frankly don't see what's so hilarious about it that you can't even seem to mention the team without informing everybody that they make you "LOL!"

What's "hilarious" is that the Penguins have completely dominated the Flyers over the past 4 years.

2006/07 - Penguins go 8-0 against the Flyers during the season.

2007/08 - Penguins win their playoff series in 5 games, winning the final game 6-0.

2008/09 - Penguins win yet another playoff series against the Flyers, with Philadelphia blowing a 3 goal lead in game 6 to end the series. Shhhhhh!

2009/10 - Penguins go 5-1 against the Flyers during the season.

And winning 5-1 the other night only adds to that.

I guess I can see how it would be weird to a Pittsburgh fan that Philly fans cheer for their team even when they aren't winning. But years from now when the Pens suck and the Pirates are winning World Series we'll see what everybody's favorite teams are.

I beg to differ. Philly has some of the biggest fair-weather fans I have ever seen. All a team has to do is get up by 2 or 3 goals and you can hear a pin drop in the Wells Fargo Center. Essentially the crowd has given up on their team. The Penguins (and mostly any other team, for that matter) could be down by 4 goals and the crowd would still be in it, trying to rally their team. But then again, I guess Philly fans don't really know how to rally their team, because the only chant they seem to know is "Crosby sucks," which has never worked.

And I don't know how long you expect that to be, "years from now," but as long as Crosby, Staal, Fleury, and Malkin are on the team, they will not "suck." It will probably be a good 10-15 years before the Penguins have to rebuild their core again.

You would never see that at a Caps or Penguins game, those fans are in it till the end. Caps fans and Penguins fans are probably the most loyal to their teams.

While I'm talking about the Caps I want to talk about the game last night. Started out absolutely suck-o-licious. First period shots were 20-4 Thrashers or something like that. Then Semin scores at the start of the second, then the Thrashers get ahead by a goal. In the 3rd, Semin gets a 2 goals of two GREAT passes from Perrault for the hat trick, but the Thrashers tie it to send it to overtime. Then Flash gets the rebound off of Fehr's shot to win!

Also, I used to like Dustin Byfuglien. But after that dirty hit on Neuvirth last night, SCREW HIM!

Don't say that to a Leafs fan. As much I hate the Leafs, their fans are the most loyal of any NHL team.

The Leafs can be mathematically out for the season yet their fans will still believe that they can win the cup.

I guess you didn't follow hockey when the Penguins almost had to move to a different city because they had no fans? Or when Capitals average attendance was significantly lower than league average for years before Ovechkin? Hell, even 3 years ago, they were the bottom 3 in the NHL in average attendance! Thats loyalty alright.

I'll vouch for that! They still come to Buffalo Sabres games in droves..even if the Leafs aren't playing the Sabres. As long as there is hockey and there are cheap seats available, they'll be there!

Maybe that is why we sell out so many Sabres home games?

Leafs games are always sold out, at ridiculous ticket prices, even when they were 15th in the east and have missed the playoffs 5 straight years.

I always wondered if it was going to be a mistake to relocate teams from the north (Winnipeg, Quebec City, Hartford, Minnesota) to the southern states. When Buffalo played the Thrashers in Atlanta last week, I believe that there was an estimated 9,000 fans in attendance...and a lot of them were Sabres fans.

While a few southern teams seem to be doing okay, teams like Atlanta, Florida, Tampa, Phoenix, Carolina, etc...seem to struggle to sell out games even if they are making a Cup run. Their biggest draws are fans from the north that have relocated for better weather and jobs and are looking to see their team win!

You can probably thank all the season ticket holders for that. Leafs tickets are hard to come by for the average fan. And even if you can get them they tend to be too expensive. I've turned down plenty of tickets from work simply because I don't feel like paying $70 a ticket for nose bleeds.

It's no surprise then that we flock to Buffalo, and other nearby cities.

I can also imagine another team in the GTA within the next ten years, if not sooner.

I don't know. There's going to be alot of resistance to that. GTA would be the best location for a team, but I'd imagine some other cities might be more attractive to the league that wouldn't involve as much of a fight. Toronto and Buffalo just aren't going to let a new team walk into their territory.

I'm 16 and I've been a Pens fan for most of my life. My dad owned season tickets, I would go no matter how bad they were, because I just loved the atmosphere of hockey and those teams had some of my favorite players: Johan Hedberg, Rico Fata, and Milan Kraft. It also helped that I was younger and really didn't care if they won or lost.

Speaking of Pens, yesterdays game was just flat out embarrassing. Go up 3-1 only to lose 5-3. And Fleury/PP, PATHETIC!!

I think the Pens should seriously start looking at trading Fleury for a backup to Johnson and a true winger for Crosby/Malkin.

No way this team will go deep or even make the playoffs with Fleury playing like he currently is.

go sharks beating devils. (though brodeur is my favorite goalie).

It's so wierd about Brodeur, last year he was one of the best goalies in the league, now he is just average. He let in five goals in ten shots against us and got pulled, and he only has two wins this season. As much as I hate to say it, I think it's time for the legend to hang up his skates.
