Carnage
Damn! I thought Balder got the number one spot over The Voyage. Robb, you tricked me with that pic of Balder on the homepage next to the link to Mitch's poll results. Hey, it's TPR's #1 regardless of what any poll says! --Robb I'm curious how everyone voted who were on the UK trip between Balder and Voyage. (or anyone who's ridden both for that matter). I picked Voyage. But that's just because I rank speed, laterals, and a decent ass whooping over airtime.
BarryH
I haven't ridden Voyage yet, but I sitll like the Ozark Wildcat over Balder. I guess I like the out of controlness and the three bunny hops in a row in the Ozark Wildcat. But Psyclone ranked above Grizzly? WTF?
robbalvey
^ Yeah, we really misjudged what people's opinions of Balder would be. Oh, well....live and learn. --Robb "Although oddly enough the top vote for where to go for an add-on is still Liseberg." Alvey
Carnage
^ I still loved Balder and Liseberg. It's just to me personally it lacked something to make the top of my list. It had tonnes of airtime, but really not much else. But I would still gladly return and ride it over and over and over again.
larrygator
I had Voyage at 4, Balder at 5 and El Toro at 6 on my ballot

larrygator
Coney Island Cyclone Phoenix Avalanche and Megaphobia didn't even make my Top
Carnage
Yeah, Megaphobia wasn't very high on my list either. It was running too sluggish when I rode it. I wish I had gotten a ride in later after it had warmed up though.
robbalvey
For me, Megafobia hasn't performed like it did when it opened since my visit in 1999. Not a bad woodie, but for me it's just outside the list of the really great rides, and not quite on the list of the mediocre rides. Not sure if the ride has suffered the same things as some of the other CCI's woodies (although it certainly wasn't rough) or if there has just been so many better rides built since then. In 1996 it was truly amazing, but that was also before coaster like Tonnerre De Zeus, Ghostrider (when it was good), Colossos, Balder, Tremors, etc, etc, etc..... Heck, even the Vekoma woodies - Loup Garou, Robin Hood, and Thunder Coaster I'd rank way above Megafobia now! --Robb
kraxleRIDAH
CRAP no California coasters Though I was certain GhostRider was not going to place very high this year due to its horrible performance this year due to lack of rehab and just overall general poor aging, I'm a bit surprised it didn't even crack the top 25. Evidently there's been a lot of good new wood coastin' amok to edge it off the list. To think GhostRider used to place in the ranks of the top 10 for a few consecutive years and now it's unable to hold a spot within the top 25! thomas2
Weerwolf/Loup Garou is on place 31 And Coaster Express is way down at the bottom
weeow
I'm pretty happy that Rampege is #14 on the list. That's pretty good I guess. I knew The Voyage was going to be number 1 though.
ginzo
I can see why some people would put Voyage as #1. I had some amazing rides on it, but also some bad rides on it. I went to HW three times this year, and I believe that Voyage had a bit of downtime on each trip. Though I'm sure El Toro was down a lot more in its inaugural year with the stories of "never open before noon". HW has created an awesome, but high maintenance ride. If they can keep up with it, they'll have a top 10 coaster for many years to come.
Scaparri
I picked Voyage. But that's just because I rank speed, laterals, and a decent a$$ whooping over airtime. Damn, combine this quote with the #1 ranking and now is the time that I really kick myself for not getting down there this year. Being a college student sucks sometimes! Well, it sucks a lot of the time. I'll get there next year though. I'd kind of like to see Mitch take on a best parks poll.
alpengeist04
^I second the best parks poll. It would be interesting to see who would come out on top, Disney, Universal, or the Cedar Point fanboys. ...as for the poll, no big surprises. Who didn't see The Voyage being #1. I guess the only mild surprise was Boulder Dash at #5. I had it #10 on my list and I've only been on about half of the top 25 coasters, maybe with the re-tracking it will be better the next time around. ...and YAY for Intamin. rollermonkey
I think the 7 woodies I've ridden in the top 25 were in the same order on my ballot. I can't wait for next season, as I'll be getting on quite a few of the ones I haven't been on yet. But really, who didn't think that Voyage would be #1? dr.gumbo
Hmm, its weird that ASKA's so high even if its a great ride as nobodys ever was at the park (from what it seemed on TPRs visit) and the parks closed now It must then be better than great then, it must be amazing EDIT: And how come Diana beach hurricane was 26th :
BeemerBoy
EDIT: And how come Diana beach hurricane was 26th : That was my only real "surprise." Oh well. It's still my favorite woodie, and the best wood in the poll that matters most to me: mine.
RCoasterny
Phoenix #4!?!?!?!?!?!?!? What is wrong with people? "It ain't that good!" Dennis "needs to shut up while he's ahead!" That's what I was thinking too! Phoenix being better than her brother, Twister! I thought Twister had a better edge over the Phoenix last summer! Sad to say, the Phoenix is not what it used to be in the 1990's. It has lost it's luster, and the slam dunk on the 2nd to last hop into the brake run is gone. I've been riding the Phoenix every summer for the past 20 years and I have noticed the Phoenix becoming mellow in the past 4 years.

Electerik
But really, who didn't think that Voyage would be #1? Um...Robb? I continue to be surprised by GCI's performance in Mitch's poll. I mean, I enjoy their rides, but they just don't have the strong forces of some of the better CCI/GG and Intamin woodies. My only guess is that the (perceived) consistent speed of the CGI's is wowing others slightly more than it is I.

SharkTums
^^Actually Robb and I knew it would be #1! Any idiot could figure that out from all of the posts, midseason poll, and then our addon trip! Just because it's #1, doesn't mean we have to agree with it! BTW, Robb, Joey, and I all ranked Dania Beach Hurricane pretty high up, hopefully as more people get to ride it they'll see how awesome it is!
