Not For Sale Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZL5jOGUN_Ms It's more of a dark ride with some turns. Still, I'd go like every day. Edit: Changed description, got thrown off by video title
coasterman7 Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 That's awesome! It beats having to walk around with an annoying shopping cart.
Reon Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 This may be one of the human race's greatest inventions
SharkTums Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 That is way awesome! But didn't the clip say this place was in China, not Japan?
Airtime&Gravity Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Yep, but I wouldn't count it as a credit though. It was cool, but I would call it more of a transportation ride than a credit.
waterviper Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 That is way awesome! But didn't the clip say this place was in China, not Japan? Indeed I was just about to post this! Ya dude the info is all wrong. It's China not Japan! I really dont think this will be at all efficient. The way the stores are now is perfect. No need to change it. but never the less still a cool idea.
DallasAlvey Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Well I hope that ends up in America. Then I would go to the grocery store all the time. And I would go to the store everyday because that would be the only ride nearby.
Top Thrill Dragster Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 I wonder if you have to pay to ride.
jamesdillaman Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 We have a place called Jungle Jim's. The guy has a bunch of eccentric things, like a full size boat, an elvis-singing gorilla, and a huge fountain outside with lifelike animals. He purchased the Kings Island monorail that used to go through the animal park. The monorail station was where the action zone grill is now. I've heard from my dad (who does financing for him) that he's been trying to get it up and running. That's the closest thing i can think of to what this is. -James "Will have to get a photo TR from Jungle Jim's for all of you" Dillaman
BeemerBoy Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Doesn't this belong in America? As if people weren't lazy enough already.
VegasCoaster Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Did I hear correctly that the store is 5 stories tall? How small of a footprint is this store on to need 5 stories. I know space is a premium there more than anywhere else but I still can't imagine needing 5 floors of food. Not to mention how hard it would be to get carts around in that so this coaster thing makes a lot of sense.

socalMAN123 Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 COOLEST...SUPERMARKET...EVER!!! Seriously, we should have this here in America, with all of our fat and lazy population we could use this. ---Brent
DallasAlvey Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 ^ Well why not it's on a track. Just kidding it's not a coaster maybe a dark ride that's not in the dark.
Adriel Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 That supermarket is located in a place called Shenyang (or Shanghai) sorry I don't knwo the right spelling. Anyway, it will be wonderful if Singapore does get one too.
BarryH Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 We need to visit this store on TPR's Japan trip!
COASTER FREAK 11 Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 That is the coolest thing I have seen all day!
SharkTums Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 ^^Try actually paying attention to the clip and the thread...it's not in Japan.
CreativeForce Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 So Elissa, when you guys finally get around to doing a TPR trip to CHINA, will this be on the itinerary? Food and a coaster? At the same time? YOu know Robb is going to be all over this. Okay, I'm not far behind either.
SharkTums Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 LOL, it will depend where it is! Right now the China trip is shaping up to NOT include the Shanghai area since they don't really have very many, or a good quality of coasters. If it's in the Beijing area or whatever the province that Hong Kong is in, then we'll hit it up for sure!
Primogen18 Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 I saw this on ripleys, I think it would be cool! just have to know what youre getting before going, but re-rides wouldnt be so bad, those fast turns look fun lol. -Allan "867-5309" Bray
Zen Coaster Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Well I will be doing China in general so if no one else makes it there with me, I will brave the Supermarket Coaster of Death alone, by jove! The photo TR must be made!
VegasCoaster Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 I don't know, this might count as a coaster if rides like Fire in the Hole at Silver Dollar City count. While it does seem to be powered for most of the time, on the turns it definately doesn't have any power source from the look of the video so it is gravity powered there.
