P. 2037: Siren’s Curse tilt coaster announced for 2025!

Recommended Posts

Oh, after spouting off about GateKeeper Plinko a few times I was curious how many we had stock-piled - 18!

My kids - my son especially is waiting for that horribly busy day and he can't wait to bust these out and just walk on all the big ones! Also have some trips planned with friends / family later this summer and we are going to treat them to some of our passes...

So, I'll say it again - if you can't do Fast Lane Plus - throw $20 at GateKeeper Plinko!!!

(Oh and last year at the end of the night, they moved the plinko board to the main midway - and to entice people to play they added a 4 pack of line skippies!!! So far this has not happened this year - and the workers aren't aware of them doing this again )

If i remember correctly, we had 26 of those last year. My kids were too small to ride the big 4, so my wife and i had a great time using them on a Halloweekend kid free Saturday! The kids played the game, and won 6 4-packs and 2 single line skippies. This year they get to reap the benefits with us!

That's awesome! A couple questions- how do you win th 4-pack vs. the single line skippies? Also, for Tony's tweet up Twitter thing, I assume this is something you can do only when you're at the park and you must check Twitter at the right time to get there first and win the prize, is that correct? If I get enought of these skippies during starlight the day before I plan on getting Fast Lane, I may go without FL or get regular FL. Does that sound like a good plan?

I haven't seen the 4 pack offered this year.

With the tweetups, you have to be in the park to win. He usually has at least 6-8 winners, sometimes more. I have won something every day (3) we have visited so far. Day one, My wife and i won coins, next time i won a line skippie, on coastermania i won a voucher for fast lane plus!

He will tweet a location to find him at, don't run because he won't give you anything! I walked all the way from GateKeeper pulling a wagon, to Super Himalaya and took the 2nd to last line skippie. I was shocked i made it.

Sounds great! So, I guess that means you just have to check twitter at the right time, or does he generally tweet earlier in the day to have the chance to use the prizes? Also, if I were to win a Fast Lane Plus (which would be awesome), could I use it the next day?

Thanks

Was doing some casual browsing around Youtube and discovered this video. I only wish that I could ride this version of Dragster (minus the more frequent breakdowns). It wasn't till 2005 till I got to ride it. Anyways, this thing was flying over the crest even during media day!

This video also makes me yearn for a Dragster repaint...

Wish the trains still had the engines and tires on the back

The airtime going over the top must've been awesome in the early years

^Probably because they find it unnecessary to make it go that fast, as long as it makes it. I guess most people won't notice and certainly they won't stop riding it because of that, so.... I obviously wouldn't like parks to think this way but I guess they generally do.

lol, look closer at that video. They didn't slow the ride down, it just ran with one less car on media day because it kept rolling back with the heavier 5 car train it was designed for since it's an unreliable piece of crap. Because of that it flew over the top.

It's slower in more recent videos because of the added weight, but if the ride ran those 12 seat trains from media day the line would be horrendous. Since they removed the tires and added the "extra" car (that the ride was always supposed to have) they increased the capacity of each train from 12 to 18.

Weight, weather, wind, train modifications, lubrication frequency, fat riders, skinny riders, and you name it will have a significant effect on how "fast" any coaster will run. Going off a few videos from random points in time doesn't tell you the full story. Each day a coaster is going to run slightly different based on a whole bunch of variables at work.

Odd -- I was browsing that exact same video today as well . ..... would have been very cool to ride over the top at that speed. Over, even better, Xcelerator at the testing speeds show in that video above -- WOW.
