coasterlover420 Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 But you'll notice that the one behind it is tilted into the hill coming up, so I tink it's just side support. (first reaction to the picture: YES!!!!!!!)

(first reaction to the picture: YES!!!!!!!) oh yeah i see what you mean.. oh well theres going to be some track there to say the least this thing is going to be looooooooooooong
jamesdillaman Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 It definitely will be long, long like this thread... -James Dillaman
TexTitan01 Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Is anyone else thinking this may be just a downscaled EGF or Goliath? I dunno, just had a brainwave I guess...Intamins known for making Airtime machines, and maybe this ride is another reason they hold that title.
coasterlover420 Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 I think it's obvious that this ride is going to have a unique layout and lots of turns, so I doubt it.
BeemerBoy Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 I don't know how many of you have seen this, but I think it's safe to say the coaster won't be all turns: http://www.pointpixels.com/4images/details.php?image_id=7905 This is another thing that I have found fairly amazing. Why were some of you so concerned that there wouldn't be a hill? Tell me one traditional type of full circuit coaster that didn't have a hill of some kind? Although early on I was thinking and hoping for a wingwalker, I'm still banking on an Aquatrax that's boosted several times along it's course. Scott "or maybe a booster bike type of thing with horses instead of crotch rockets " B.
CP_RULES Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Tell me one traditional type of full circuit coaster that didn't have a hill of some kind? Would High Roller fit your discription?
coasterdude5 Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 I've heard a racing theory tossed around a bit here and at other forums. Could that be the reason for starting so early? That might have already been determined but I just recently got hooked on this thread.
coasterlover420 Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Maybe they're fitting the worlds longest roller coaster in that tiny spot.
haux Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 It's got the same color scheme as Top Thrill Dragster, so what if it's an extension of Dragster? They'll modify the drop on TTD so it turns toward this ride. Eh, I'm just making stuff up. But seriously, who makes a new ride with the same freaking color combo as a ride already in the park?
BeemerBoy Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Tell me one traditional type of full circuit coaster that didn't have a hill of some kind? Would High Roller fit your discription? Well, stretching a little on that one, but in the name of fairness, I'll give you that.

That might have already been determined but I just recently got hooked on this thread. Anyone who lives off of Lake Erie will tell you the reason they're starting early is WINTER. Winter in Sandusky, as any local Cedar Point fanboy will tell you, can be brutal. There's no telling how much construction is left. They even have work to do after the track is all laid. There's LIM's as we've guessed, there's station, block sensor installation and testing, queue line building, the literally thousands of trashcans that need to be placed around this ride by Cedar Fair, not to mention water filtration systems and filling in lakes if there are any used in the attraction. -James Dillaman
coasterdude5 Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 ^Yeah, that makes alot of sense, thanks for clearing it up.
okinawaboy11 Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 Dude, this is Soooo confusing. This is going to be a VERY tightly twisted track. All those supports and all the track that has showed up is starting to look VERY twisted. Sweeeeeeet.
rollermonkey Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 I'm hoping for this: V-supports = dueling coaster I can hope, right?
ECZenith Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 Since there's still so many possibilities and so much track... Yes you can hope.
Wathell Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 has anybody seen a V shaped support before on another coaster?
ECZenith Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 A lot of high stress areas on Intamins have these, like SFNE's SRoS return camelbacks. They either have these or the zig-zagging columns. I'm sure there's many others that have these, they are fairly common. Nothing to be excited about I would say.
TheArchfiend Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 has anybody seen a V shaped support before on another coaster? I've seen the exact same "v" shaped supports on a coaster at Lotte World in South Korea before. Boy, I just can't remember what type of coaster that was. Hey, maybe its the same type of coaster there as it is here in Ohio! That would be neat-o!!
jamesdillaman Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 ^ What do you think it could be?? -James Dillaman
ECZenith Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 Doesn't Atlantis Adventure use a lift hill as well as a LIM run? If that drawing is anywhere near what this will be it seems right... The turns are very tight for a train with more than one car but like everything else said here, could of course be wrong. Definately is looking more and more like an aqua trax, I have to agree.
Ed Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 Alot of people close to Cedar Point are saying it isn't an Aqua Trax..
