Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

P. 2038: Top Thrill 2 reopens on May 3rd!

Recommended Posts

I'm a little skeptical that that is the final look of the entrance and keyholes... It has a very sleek modern feel, but still a bit bland.

The coaster looks great! Comparing it to Wicked Twister, it looks like it's right around 200 feet (if WT is 215ft). I'm looking forward to the full stat sheet.

I'd love to see this come out to be at 200 ft, ever since riding the magnum as a kid 200 has been kind of a magical number for coasters. Something about that height (and above) is wonderful.

It's about time that some park put a jojo roll after a mid-course brake.

I knew that I should've made my NoLimits coaster with a heartline roll after its midcourse public a couple of months ago...

I like this. I like this a lot.

Looks like a very complete layout! This is pretty much the best layout they could have put in given the land it's on (completely flat). It will liven up that section for sure, and also make lines for all the others shorter (hopefully).

This looks awesome. Replacing a unique bobsled with another unique coaster is perfect for that area of the park. Wing riders look tame enough to be family friendly. Love the interaction at the gate.

^I dunno--you had me until "reliable" and then my mind went to a kitchen appliance or Toyota. Takes the thrill and excitement right out of it

Not sure where you are seeing this jojo after the MCBR. Looks to me like it drops down into another inversion.

I'm just glad it's not ANOTHER Intamin. CP needed something more unique than a traditional sit-down.

I wish they would just completely do away with the parking lot behind the games buildings. New Midway approtunities, just saying

Ah, right. My mistake, it does actually just drop off.

It still looks like a fantastic ride though. The diving drop into the loop is certainly unique.

It's more than just parking as they have the Games and Merch Warehouses/Offices back there.

I'm not usually one to get extremely excited for a new ride, but I must say that this one sure looks to be one of the coolest additions to the park since Dragster came along. I was really excited to go to the park in 2011, and now it's back on my "must see list" for 2013. The new park entrance will surely be stunning, and I cannot wait to see this thing in action when it opens! GateKeeper made my day today!

By the way, if they're going for the tallest and fastest wing rider in the world, they're not going to include Intamin wing riders and Arrow/S&S 4D's are they? Because if they do, they have to top 80mph (Furius Baco) and 250ft (Eejanaika). I'm guessing they mean the tallest and fastest B&M wing rider in the world, though that still means they have to top Wild Eagle's 210ft.
