P. 2037: Siren’s Curse tilt coaster announced for 2025!

Recommended Posts

Was at the park today. As stated, nothing going on by mean Streak. Not surprisingly though. The trains are still in the storage area as well.

The park was shockingly dead. We aren't big haunt people but did Eden Musee and it was actually really good! Many scare actors.

The longest we waited was 15 minutes for Maverick. Everything else was about 5 minutes, including Valravn.

Can't wait for 2 more trips next weekend!

Are they going to relocate it to where Shoot the Rapids was? Hate me if yo want, but now CP needs a new true wooden coaster to smooth out their collection. A nice sized GCI like Renegade would fit into the park really well.

Genius!

I'll have to admit. I'm not sure what any of that means.

You get a new avatar or signature of my choosing if Nuevo-Mean Streak isn't announced as reopening in 2017. I'll even spot you the possibility of that happening through January of next year. Obviously if they announce that it will, you get the same opportunity with me.

Did I somehow imply that I knew the date of the announcement? Or the date of the new Frontier Town "maximus grandus" improvement(s)? I certainly don't remember doing either of those things. I just gave a rational reason as to why they wouldn't announce it in August, and why they wouldn't start work on the weekend.

Rationally, if you're looking to draw the press in for a major announcement to anchor your "new for 2017" campaign and season pass renewals, would you announce the slide tower that probably costs less than a million dollars and some landscaping changes, or the new giant roller coaster for your self described "Roller Coaster Capital of the World" that costs exponentially more than $1 million dollars?

Mini TR from 9/17-9/18

It drizzled pretty steadily for most of the afternoon-early evening on Sat, all the rides stayed open except for TTD and Windseeker. I was surprised Raptor was even running in drizzles, the last time I was at CP they kept closing it anytime there was a drop of rain. All the rides did close around 7pm when there was a torrential down pour for about 20 mins, everything quickly opened after it passed though, even TTD!!!

Valravn- Much better than I expected, thought it was much superior to Griffon. I actually 'felt' the first drop which was unexpected. Only gripe was the rattles in certain parts of the ride. I think this is just something with the newer B&Ms, noticed it on Fury, Banshee, and Gatekeeper.

MF-Same amazing ride, sat in the 2nd row for the first time and experienced AIRTIME. I used to roll my eyes when people would say MF had airtime, but now I've witnessed first hand. 45 min wait on Sat, 20 mins on Sunday.

Maverick-Awesome as I remembered it, 30-45 min wait both days, was a walk on at the end of Sunday night

TTD-Much more intense than I remembered, the launch punched me in the stomach much harder than before. Loved it, such an adrenaline rish. It was closed most of Saturday until about 7-8pm when the storm finally cleared. 30 min wait on Sat, 10 mins Sun.

Gatekeeper-I still love it, not in my top 5 at the park but its definitely fun especially in the first and last rows. Was 5-10 min wait the whole weekend.

Raptor-Same great ride, was a walk-on when I rode it Sun.

Magnum-Sat in a 'non wheel seat' and had a pretty decent ride on it. The ending of course is stellar as always.

Rougarou-I liked the pace of the ride, it really tears through all the elements. The headbanging was BAD though, worse than Mantis IMO. The restraints really kill the ride for me, and since I'm prone to migraines I will never ride again.

Also rode, Gemini, Blue Streak, and Sky Hawk.

All in all, had a fun 2 days at CP... I acually wasnt expecting to visit CP again so soon but my friend and I planned last minute. We picked a great time to go, the park wasnt busy and we even got a little taste of HalloWeekends. Didnt do any of the mazes or houses though.

Found this awesome picture that some of our crew and myself took together earlier in the season. Thought I would share it with you guys, and also give a shout out to the rest of Ride Operations at Cedar Point for doing a phenomenal job from open to close.

These people work hard to safely and efficiently give everyone an awesome time daily and nightly, and working here wouldn't be near as fun without being able to give the guests the best day ever.

This season was unforgettable and amazing and i can't wait for 2017!

You guys crushed it this year. Great job. I noticed that they ran 38 cabins on Saturday and was really impressed that they had the staff to do it this late in the season. Also I saw your crew shirts (the hoodies) and I'm incredibly jealous that I don't own one.

Thank you Bill!

We had a ton of fun, Working Skyride was an incredibly unique experience. It was quite the workout! Such a unique ride, my favorite thing about it was running into people that worked the ride years ago (Ran into a guy that worked it in 1971). Amazing to think about how many different generations of people have been on that platform in its 55 years to experience working that beautiful piece of engineering.

About the crew jackets, they are beautiful.. Can't wait to receive mine in the mail!

If you are going to announce the water park in a way to gain excitement for the water park, would you also announce a new rollercoaster that would potentially dwarf the attention of the other park addition? Would you want to announce the water park after the new ride? How would you do it?

Promise less, give more.

Yes, because the roller coaster is the larger capital expenditure. You promote the thing that costs significantly more money and will likely draw many more people. The intent is to drive season pass renewals. Breakers Express expansion will not do that.

Would you want to announce the water park after the new ride?

Of course. That's what you announce in the winter or early spring in this scenario. That's not happening.
