tarheel1231 Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 I really think this will be a flat of some sort. I can't imagine a dark ride being thrilling for teens. Unless it's more of a blood-and-gore type of ride. WMG is a family ride. Whatever it is, I'm very intrigued!
aCoasterStory Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 For what it's worth, it looked like Mantis's third train was disassembled/ in pieces underneath the transfer track.
Devins3 Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Does anyone know why CP isn't open next Friday? They were scheduled from 6-10 but now are closed due to private event. I was planning on going to CP Friday and Sunday and Kennywood Saturday. I looked last week and now they are not open.
VF15 Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 (edited) ^ I believe there is a private event. Don't know who is renting out though. Edited August 31, 2014 by VF15
JonnyRCT3 Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 For what it's worth, it looked like Mantis's third train was disassembled/ in pieces underneath the transfer track. That's always been there.

Private events this kind of the year aren't unheard of. REV3 Triathlon is Sunday, the 7th.
raptor6 Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 So are the rumors of the park having really small crowds the weekend (or this year's case, Sunday) after Labor Day true? I'm thinking about visiting on Sunday September 7th and I hope the stories are real!
Coasterguy21 Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 (edited) ^Generally. I haven't been to the park in September in a few years. Last year I was there on the last day of the operating season and the weather was horrible so the haunted houses had longer lines. The last time I was there on a Sunday in Mid-September, the longest wait I had was Top Thrill Dragster at 30 minutes. Mantis, Magnum & Raptor were walk-ons. Millennium was at 5 minutes. Hopefully it stays the same for you. FOR 2015 Announcement: Update on the announcement coming tomorrow. Will just be a press release, no streaming: (ANNOUNCEMENT STILL SET FOR TUESDAY. THIS WILL JUST BE AN UPDATE ON WHAT TO EXPECT ON TUESDAY) Edited August 31, 2014 by Coasterguy21
VF15 Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 ^ Wait a minute, did they move the announcement to tomorrow, or is it still on Tuesday?
Coasterguy21 Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 ^Still Tuesday. They're probably just going to give some last minute hints and an update on how the announcement is going to go down tomorrow.
Coasterguy21 Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 ^No, I do believe its NOT a typo. There will simply be an update tomorrow, whether it be more teasers or more information about how the announcement will go down. I think it was pretty straightforward... Announcement is Tuesday at Noon.
Diamondbacker27 Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Here's my prediction: 1) Maverick and Dragster get a repaint. 2) Mantis gets Floor-less trains. 3) New inverting Flat ride (Fabbri Cataclysm?) is placed near Mantis and that general area gets a refresh. Dragster was supposed to get a repaint last season. I'm not sure where it was, but someone asked him and he stated that was the plan. But, I guess they never went through with it.
MagnumFreak25 Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 I saw somewhere that they decided not to and spend it on something else but confirmed it would get repainted this year.
Devins3 Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 So are the rumors of the park having really small crowds the weekend (or this year's case, Sunday) after Labor Day true? I'm thinking about visiting on Sunday September 7th and I hope the stories are real! I went two years ago and everything was a walk on, the gate was open on MF and we could just reride. That's why I am going again this year on this weekend. Also helping things this year is it is opening day for NFL and the Cleveland browns are playing the Pittsburg steelers in Pittsburg , so that should help the crowds.
tarheel1231 Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 I think next year's addition will be floorless trains and a new color scheme for Mantis. I don't think the park will add a dark ride.
WallyWorldOrBust Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 But will they go so far as to rename Mantis, too? (King James?)
VF15 Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Hmm... maybe the word dark could hint at a dark ride, but on the other hand, I don't think that's what really appeals to teens here.
coasterchitchat Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 WMG style dark ride for sure. I have nothing against that system. I like it!
coasterlover420 Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Or they're putting Mantis indoors like it was supposed to be
Diamondbacker27 Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Here is another photo of the paint test on Mantis. I'm pretty sure these were taken from the train.
VF15 Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Haha, this picture that Tony Clark tweeted is great . If only it was true...
