garyman6
So, Garyman, when are you able to finally spill the beans on the exciting 2016 rumor that you've been sitting on? Yes, Is there a time frame you can tell us or at least hint about it? The suspense is killing me! A while back, garyman6 did hint at the secret a little bit: I remember one user was saying that he desperately wants VF's 2016 addition to be a roller coaster, and garyman6 said that the rumor he knows about should make him happy, so this leads me to believe that it is a coaster rumor, although I could be wrong. Let me check with my source! Until then..........

VF15
Went to Valleyfair today, just a few notes... -I noticed a few counstruction machines driving on the park's front road, so I'm guessing that demolition will probably begin next week after the waterpark closes. -The screeching noise I noticed on Renegade a few weeks ago is gone for the most part. There is a little bit of it just before it pulls into the brake run, but it sounds a lot better. -Excalibur was actually running decent today. I didn't walk off the ride with the headache I normally get. Despite that, I'm still hoping it gets removed in the next few years. -High Roller was also having a good day. Got airtime on the first drop and all of the hills . -The bumper cars and the train have closed for the year for Haunt preparations. Now that the daily operating season is almost over, the real fun is about to begin...
valleyfairfanatic
took some video at the park today, here it is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-IFlXoPqfFw&list=UUfp7PhbTFXBfSYJSAsBcAlQ
ImmelMatt
If they don't care about curbside appeal, Excalibur seems the perfect ride to tear out and run wild with a B&M wing coaster or invert in 2016, but if they want another long out-and-back giga that people off the highway can see coming up the road, they could position it alongside Dinosaurs Alive (or get rid of it altogether as that's their only remaining curbside plot for a giga and have the drop go down under a rebuilt park entrance, then come back up over Wild Thing's turnaround, then it would turn and run out across the parking lot to that patch of land on the other side the they own but have done nothing with it into a turnaround like the one Shambhala has. Here's a very rough outline: Red = Station, Orange = Lift Hill, Yellow = First Drop then Up Over Wild Thing, Green = Hills and Twists, Blue = Turnaround, Purple = Return Hills and Twists, White = Brake Run
madsecar
^^^ Valleyfair needs something else besides a Giga. We need an Invert before we ever get a Giga. I don't see CF putting a Giga in VF anytime soon, but I do see a very nice B&M coming in the next couple years.
thrillseeker4552
A B&M Invert seems way more likely to me than a B&M Giga.

TCSCskater
Here's a very rough outline: Lol, your browser-windows are almost identical to mine at the moment. As far as VF getting a giga, B@M or otherwise, doesn't VF have a 275' or so height restriction, owed to Flying Cloud being just a couple miles to the north? If so, I don't see a giga in VF's future ever. Nonetheless, I still like the layout you have outlined. I am actually in the middle of making a GE overlay with a similar layout, except mine involves the removal of The Wave. It's just a pipe dream though. However, I think taking out Excalibur and building something on that plot of land is a tad more realistic. That plot of land is definitely big enough for a nice, compact B&M like Batman or Afterburn. I think I'll try and lay something out there on GE after I'm done with this one (yes, I live an exiting life, i know)
danderson83
A B&M Invert seems way more likely to me than a B&M Giga. I agree. I think it will be a B&M invert in 2016 as well, but I will be happy with any new coaster in 2016 (invert, hyper, giga, winged, etc).
BurgoAndM
^ I still think that we would need a coaster that can have inversions but if it was the first B&M hyper with inversions, I would be thrilled.

Hopefully with the invert addition Cedar Fair could add a second roller coaster to another park the 2016 season. It seems Fury 325 is the ONLY coaster going into a Cedar Fair park this next season. VF15
It seems Fury 325 is the ONLY coaster going into a Cedar Fair park this next season. That's what's making me a bit doubtful about a new coaster at VF in 2016/2017. Valleyfair is due for a new coaster, but so are Dorney, WOF, and MA, and if this one coaster per year trend continues (Banshee was the only new CF coaster this year), then we may have to wait even longer. DJeXeL
Something along the lines of Patriot would be very marketable for the park. I just don't see it though. What I do see is a flat ride of some sort.
BurgoAndM
I feel like next year it will be Fury 325 AND a wooden coaster (i think Dorney), like 2013. This would take down the overdue parks down to 3, meaning that 2016 could be a major steel going to one of those 3 parks. Out of the three I have a strong grab towards Valleyfair to get that major coaster.

xACEx
Valleyfairs height restriction is 275 feet. Diamondback has a 230-foot lift hill. Couldn't Valleyfair build another B&M hyper at the max height restriction of 275 feet and have a steeper first degree drop ? Make it higher then Diamondback at Kings Island? I could see them doing that. Have the station start down by the old pinc cove and move the lift hill along the fence line were the Dinosaurs Alive attraction is and the first drop go under the front plaza of Valleyfair like Fury 325 Feel The Sting is doing at Carowinds and make the rest of the track go by Steel Venom and have the turn around over by Steel Venom by the highway gates. VF15
^ I guess you could do that, but everyone seems to be forgetting that Valleyfair already has a hypercoaster (Wild Thing). If VF was to get a B&M mega coaster, it would probably be a giga coaster, but they would have to build it at the west end of the park since that is the where the height limit is not in effect. Excalibur and Thunder Canyon would definitely need to be removed for it. Considering space issues, it would likely have a twister layout as opposed to an out-and-back one, so it might resemble Intimidator 305 more than Leviathan or Fury 325. However, I'm pretty much just dreaming right now because I don't think a Gigacoaster will happen for at least 10 more years, probably longer. Something with inversions is what we need next. We'll, it is pretty easy to forget after you ride other hypers. Seriously though, like you said, the park will not be getting another hyper. Something with inversions is what we need next. Agreed. The park desperately needs a new coaster with multiple inversions so bad it almost a hurts. 34 years since Corkscrew arrived and no new inversions have been added to the park since. It would be nice for the park to get a new steel coaster with inversions and bring it into the 21st century.

I just hope they also add another new coaster at any place you listed as well. It doesn't need to be over ten million to make a statement.

garyman6
O.K. I spoke with my source today to get an update on 2016. I hate to disappoint but I can't reveal anything new at this point. However, keep checking back as this message may change. So, I leave you with this. If January brough us "Snow and Cold" and Feburary brought us "Love In The Air" and March brought us "The Luck of The Irish", then what did April bring? Hmmmm? Have fun with this one! Obviously, the first things to come to mind are rain showers and Easter eggs. I'm so bad at this kind of thing. Ideas, anyone?
