Valleyfair (VF) Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

Valleyfairzone pointed out something interesting. VF's website says it is having a Pig Roast on Saturday, Sept. 13, but it has a picture of Excalibur next to it. Hmm...

That's how roasts work, you insult the things you love, Excalibur being the "pig".

Especially since Excalibur closes for the season on the 14th. The day after the event.

I can confirm what "ACE" said on page 211. Mr. Frazier also told me he does not want to loose any coasters. But that was back in May. Now he is saying rides in general. That doesn't mean they cant move a ride but it does sound like CS and Excalibur are staying put. I actually think Excalibur is a fun ride but it could use some themeing and updating to make it more attractive.

I can also assure everyone that I am not pulling the steel wool over the bull! Now keep in mind that it is still a rumor. But with all the facts that I have learned about the rumor, it doesn't seem likely to be "just" a rumor.

If by updating you mean Iron Horsing it (unlikely), I'd be all for that, but otherwise, any other money invested in Excalibur would probably be a waste of money in my opinion.

Haunt 2014 Spoiler Alert.

Where did you find this!?!?!?!!?

This is the Dinosaurs alive path! Are you saying that they are going to use this as a new haunt attraction? I could see the potential but I see it getting out of hand and security not being able to keep people on the pathway's.

By the way, did everyone miss my last riddle contained in my last post? Go back and look!

Who has been on Hades 360 at Mt. Olympus? I'm headed there this weekend and I can't wait to ride it. No really, I am going, that's not a hint or riddle! It's always fun to survey an area and find out what is there!

Hey everyone, just thought I'd put this out there. I just renewed my season pass for 2015. I would suggest you do the same. I'm guessing that when they announce the 2014 expansion and possibly a multi year plan, such as they did at Carowinds, that the ticket prices and season pass prices will go up. Right now they are $72 or 9 bucks a month. You really can't beat the price! Get it while the gettin is good!

Maybe I'm old, but Hades360 was the worst ride I've ever been on as far as physical discomfort.

I'm glad I rode it once, but I wasn't about to go on it again. In my opinion Mount Olympus is more about the surf pool which is like nothing else around, or the elaborate go-kart tracks as opposed to coasters.

Nowadays they close the indoor waterpark to the public at the same time as the outdoor one, so you can't relax your sore muscles in the hot tub at the end of the day...

I've never been on Hades 360, but I hear that it is a brutally rough ride, so be prepared . Also, if you're suggesting that VF should get an inverting woodie, as great as that would be, we desperately need a steel coaster with inversions first. Also, if VF ever does get an inverting woodie, I would much rather go RMC over Gravity Group.

I rode it the weekend it opened(Memorial Day weekend 2013) and again on the TPR TX/MW trip in August. I thought it was OK in May, but my rides in August were BRUTAL. I have never been on anything that rearranged my internal organs like that. They did more re-tracking over the winter but no amount of re-tracking can overcome their lack of maintenance and upkeep on their rides. I have not ridden it this year and have no plans to ever go back to that park.
