GCI Wooden
Maybe VF could add flyers near the Route 76 area. If next year is waterpark (which I am sure it is), it would give the people that like to be dry something new. I think that VF opened with flyers, and if that is the case it would fit in perfectly to the theme of Route 76. I guess it depends on how much money Cedar Fair is going to put into the park. Valleyfair did not open up with Flyers in the park but they would be a perfect fit up in the Route 76 area. With CF adding these at CP, MiA and Knott's over the last 2 years it is a very real possibility in the next couple years. VF can always use more flat rides of all types. I found this photo on Valleyfair's facebook page. It was from 1978, but wasn't the idea of the area to bring you into Valleyfair's past? RCjunkie
^ That was the objective/theme of the project to bring you back to the early years of VF so adding Flyers would work. That is a nice old school picture. As you can see the Flyers were added after 1976 when it first opened. I wish the picture was a little bigger so I could see the old entrance to High Roller before they swapped and reversed the entrance with exit to the ride. madsecar
Something big is coming to Valleyfair in the next 2 years. I just know it. The Waterpark expansion is going to be huge, and I think that the new coaster is coming in 2016. I just want to know!
BurgoAndM
Another location a flyer could be added is that big patch of grass next to Corkscrew.
Drbcoaster
I think the Flyers could also fit on the plot of land where the bumper boats used to be - at least that way they'd be located in/near Route 76. I'm still inclined to believe that VF will get a thrilling flat ride in addition to the water park improvements next year. I can't really explain why - it's just a hunch. The last thrilling flat ride added to the park was Xtreme Swing, and that was in 2006. I think we're due.

I would like to see a giant frisbee added to the park. I hope your right about adding another thilling flat ride next year in addition to the waterpark makeover. I wouldn't mind seeing a slingshot ride like Cedar Point added this year.

CaptainUnknown
I've heard that Nickelodeon Universe may be considering removing their tumbler soon. Would anyone like to see it get new life at Valleyfair?

I wouldn't mind seeing a slingshot ride like Cedar Point added this year. I have been on Northern Lights. I wouldn't describe it as a 'thrill ride' (or a roller coaster, like VF tried to initially). I just feel like VF is due for another thrill ride IN ADDITION to a new coaster. It's also not unprecedented for a new thrill ride to precede a new coaster. Xtreme Swing came in 2006 and Renegade came in 2007. A giant frisbee would be EPIC! I'd also take a shorter WindSeeker - perhaps in Wild Thing's turnaround. danderson83
I think a shorter windseeker would be an excellent addition to VF. I've been on them at CP and KI, and I find them a good ride.
GCI Wooden
I haven't been on a windseeker but I think of them as a family ride. It looks like something that the Thrill seekers would like because of the height, and for the kids not yet ready to do power tower but still want to get the amazing views. I have heard that the hieght restriction doesn't apply for the entire park, so if they built one over by route 76 they could market it as the tallest ride in Minnesota. Maybe it could get to the 290 ft range.
VF15
I was just thinking: What do the rest of you think about Ripcord? Do you think it should be removed to make way for something new. Personally, I hope it stays put because it's my second favorite non-coaster ride at VF behind Xtreme Swing. I usually do it once a year since I get a discount with my season pass. Ripcord doesn't really fit in being next to Route 76, but then again, neither does Steel Venom. If they did remove it, I could see them possibly putting in a Huss Giant Frisbee there, but then again, they could easily put one of those in the Amphitheater's spot. Thoughts? I think that Ripcord is more popular for the people watching it than actually riding it. Whenever it raises people to the top, everyone watches it, and I mean everyone. I think it is out of peoples reach to pay $25 to swing back and forth a couple times. It would be nice if they took it out, and if they did there would be no more up-charge attractions. That might mean a loss of revenue for VF, but they could make it up when they add their new coaster in 2016 or 2017.
Drbcoaster
I enjoy RipCord. I also enjoyed Skyscraper and was very upset when the moved it to CP. The upcharge attractions are fine by me - as long as they're worth it. Also, GCI Wooden is right in that RipCord attracts a lot of onlookers, which I believe adds to the ambiance and excitement of the park. Sure, it's pricey, but as long as there are people willing to pay (and it recoups its operating expenses) it'll probably stay. I don't think taking out RipCord is a good idea. I think moving RipCord and adding more classic-styled flat rides to Route 76 makes more sense. As to where to move RipCord, I have no clue. Also, if VF were to get a Giant Frisbee, I'd like to see it by Wild Thing - where the Tilter used to be. They'd have to adjust Wild Thing's queue, clear some trees, and level out the ground, but it would fit. I'd put it there because my thinking is a new roller coaster for 2016 would use the Amphitheater space for a large portion of it's layout.
valleyfairfanatic
Hey guys I was working today and I noticed something interesting. There was a maze called carnevil a few years ago but zombie high replaced it. Today at work I started noticing props from Carnevil and the safety sign that would be by the entrance of it. Could carnevil be returning this year to haunt?
GCI Wooden
I really know nothing about Haunt except that it shuts down Excalibur and Bumper Cars, but maybe the new Haunt tent is the new area for Carnevil.
Mdcastle
I wouldn't call Windseeker a "family ride". It and Nitro are the only two rides that have ever freaked me out.
RCF
I wouldn't call Windseeker a "family ride". It and Nitro are the only two rides that have ever freaked me out. It has the ability to freak people out with the height, but for those who aren't afraid of heights, it's a family ride.
danderson83
it will be interesting to see what Carowinds announces next Thursday. I think it might provide some insight as to what VF might be seeing in 2016-2017.
DJeXeL
Yea, I definitely don't see VF getting a 300ft+ coaster. A small family coaster? Absolutely.

I think we will be getting something thrilling in 2016-2017, but for the people that think we are getting the world's tallest invert because Banshee didn't, don't get your hopes up. VF15
^^Even though Northern Lights (Disk'O) technically isn't a coaster, it has basically fulfilled Valleyfair's need for a new family coaster, so our next coaster wil probably be something thrilling. Yeah, it's not going to be a Gigacoaster or something insanely expensive, but I think that a Patriot-sized invert or a Hydra-sized floorless coaster isn't unreasonable, considering that Cedar Fair listed VF as a park with potential for large growth. madsecar
Does anyone know if Valleyfair brings in more revenue than World's of Fun or CGA? Where do we stand in the chain?
DJeXeL
^^Sierra Sidewinder (2007), Pony Express (2008), and Coast Rider (2013) all say "Hi." My Point Being: Just because there was a family coaster installed doesn't mean the next one has to be a "thrilling" coaster. I would LOVE to see a decent sized (150ft+) coaster installed at VF but I don't think it's going to happen.
