neil009 Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Also I'm very disappointed that word doesn't mean fear of tacos.
Paradox Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 "Clue #5 is Hypsiphobia, the fear of heights. We're thinking a clown holding a jar of spiders on the edge of a building...Too much?"
Jcoaster Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 "Clue #5 is Hypsiphobia, the fear of heights. We're thinking a clown holding a jar of spiders on the edge of a building...Too much?" You're on to something with this. The last two clues really scream coaster though in all seriousness.
Paradox Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 It's been a long 15 years without a new coaster at LC. People have been commenting on a new drop tower, but that is most likely not going to happen unless they want to build a Sky Jump like Falcon's Fury.
Jcoaster Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 ^ Well then those people don't make too much sense since Downtime is already there. I could always be wrong though since Dorney park has about 3 drop towers.
BoulderDash Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 The media invite also says "What's your Phear? Be among the first to find out what you will Phear in 2016." So yeah. Its a coaster.
Paradox Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 The media invite also says "What's your Phear? Be among the first to find out what you will Phear in 2016." So yeah. Its a coaster. My body is ready.
Jcoaster Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 The "fear of height and speed" makes me believe that this will be a fairly large coaster, at least larger than a spinner.
A.J. Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 The media invite also says "What's your Phear? Be among the first to find out what you will Phear in 2016." So yeah. Its a coaster. Only Knoebels is allowed to replace "f" with "ph".
Brassinthegrass Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Or just something big for them.... As long as it's taller than 115ft, the height of lake compounce, then we are looking at "something tall and fast!" My challange with a coaster is its location... I keep looking at google maps and I'm struggling to see where it could go...
larrygator Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 "Clue #5 is Hypsiphobia, the fear of heights. We're thinking a clown holding a jar of spiders on the edge of a building...Too much?" I'm going with a tall spider dressed like a clown.
Coaster Hero Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 I'm going with a tall spider dressed like a clown.
Jcoaster Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 A killer clown hiding in confined spaces in a fast moving plane filled with spiders and snakes. Thats my final guess, I really don't know whar this will be so I shall wait for friday now.
thesman Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 We're getting a coaster! So its no confirmed we are getting a COASTER! From the picture they posted it look like a spinning coaster, which is also what the town approved several years back. Im also going to take a guess and say its going to be called Phobia. The official announcement will be tomorrow (July 10) at 11 am
King of Ka Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 (edited) Breaking off from the new coaster talk briefly, has anybody else ridden Boulder Dash this season? Is it really as bad as CPmillenia94 was saying? I rode in early August last year and while the ride was a bit rough I didn't find it painful or even uncomfortable really. I'm bringing some friends to LC in a few weeks and I'm really hoping that the ride hasn't taken that big a step back! Edited July 9, 2015 by King of Ka
Paradox Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 I really hope it isn't a spinner. Six Flags already has one and 15 years is a really long wait for just a spinning coaster. Hopefully it's something big.
Jcoaster Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 I'll take any sort of steel coaster at this point. I'm just happy they're finally getting a new coaster.
BoulderDash Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 From the Bristol Press: Lake Compounce plans Friday to announce "the single largest investment" the nation's oldest amusement park has ever made. So hyped for tomorrow! Look for updates around 10am.
Paradox Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Omg. B&M? Haha, could you imagine?! I don't know why but I have a small feeling that we could get something like Thunderbird.
linearinduction Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Omg. B&M? Haha, could you imagine?! I don't know why but I have a small feeling that we could get something like Thunderbird. If we are all throwing out predictions, I see either a ZIERER Tower Coaster, Gerstlauer Euro Fighter, or a Premier Launched Coaster, possibly a Superman Clone. There's currently Orange Track in the Yard at Intermountain Lift, but it looks like it's for the Full Throttleish Clone going to China.

I'm bringing some friends to LC in a few weeks and I'm really hoping that the ride hasn't taken that big a step back! I rode Boulder Dash this summer and it was amazing. Wasn't rough or painful in any way. My mom, who went with me, normally can't tolerate wooden coasters (somehow they hurt her head). Boulder Dash was an exception in this case along with El Toro. Great ride though. Definitely top ten material!
