fatdaddy
Ive ridden GL two people on the same side and it was f'n crazy! Everything was still spinning when I got off. The ride was definitely better when it opened and six flags has tamed it down a lot. Hopefully they will run it without trims, unbalanced for us. chadster
I'm guessing LL will go up lightning quick so they won't need a lot of time. The queue will probably be their toughest challenge
QueerRudie
I'm guessing LL will go up lightning quick so they won't need a lot of time. The queue will probably be their toughest challenge  At least it will be a short queue...
LaMapa
^ It may be short but it will sure take a long time to get through! It will have a very low capacity.
dylanreich
Why will it be a short queue? Am I missing something? Or is everyone assuming that too many people will be turned away by the height?
LaMapa
^I don't get it either. It for sure will have a long line. And it will move really slow. This will be a great ride.
galindoverhere
^ The reason it will have a short queue is because not a lot of room can be placed under S:EFK so I'm guessing SFMM will have to test their creativity to the MAX to find out how the queue line will be placed... A friend of mines who works there said the entrance is under way and clearing will possibly start in late or mid February...
MrSum1_55
^^^Maybe the queuing area will just be small? GL has a small queuing area, but probably takes up to/over 45 minutes to get through it. (I am not exactly sure how long it takes, I have never waited in line for that ride when the line was to that point) However, I have often seen the queuing area overflow on very crowded days. Â Since it is a low capacity ride, adding a small queuing area makes sense, so people can scale how long the line will be based on the queue lenght. X2 and Tatsu are usually 90 minute waits from the entrance (although Tatsu can take longer with a slow crew) Apoc takes about 2 hours. These queues are all fairly large, as they were designed for high-capacity rides, although that is rarely true with Tatsu.
galindoverhere
^^ Well LL:DOD doesn't look like it's gonna have a huge line wait time, since I'm seeing a lot of people scared to go on due to the height..
Bolliger&Mabillard
Every park I've been to have had decent wait times for their drop rides, I expect this to be no different.
QueerRudie
Let's think of the potentials based upon other rides of similar ilk and genre: Â 16 people per cycle- assuming they use BOTH sides of the tower (Which, on 'slow' days they won't..) and a cycle (Load to load) of around 120 seconds or so. If they are using good operators, this could be as low as 90 seconds. That means, with a peak operation and good operators of 40 cycles max per hour at 16 riders per cycle: 640 riders per hour- on a GOOD day. Â Now, take the average park visitor to SFMM: Let's say that 1 in 6 people ride the attraction- (A good average, considering the kiddies don't ride and some of us don't do drop rides. You're still going to have some lengthy lines, even with the TC and the 1 in 6 principle in place. Â The area around the base of Superman isn't that big, and it's a bit landlocked. I don't expect Lex to have a lot of place to have holding areas, etc. (I've been wrong in the past on this; parks never cease to amaze where they can stuff a line into/out of). But for some reason, I don't see them having recordbreaking queues- it doesn't make sense to.
XYZ
On one of the few days of the year when CGA is busy, Drop Tower can have one of the longest lines in the park (After Psycho Mouse, Survivor, Grizzly, Flight Deck) Â So, I expect Lex Luthor to have hour waits minium on a busy day. dylanreich
I agree that this could have a multi-hour long wait at times. But more exciting is the prospects of this affecting the other lines in the park, at least in the morning.
LaMapa
Well the amount of queue space depends on where the entrance is placed. No matter what, it will have to be a relatively small queue. And about X2 and Tatsu queues, the X2 queue is about a 65 minute wait when it is to the entrance during the day in the summer. People stop under the shade and leave open spaces during the summer in order to stay out of the scorching sun. But at night, the full queue is about 90 min. For Tatsu, I usually have about a 45-50 min. wait with a full queue. The way it usually works is you start with a 10 min. wait in the station, then you add 10 minutes for every row in the bottom queue that is full. This usually works when there is a good crew. But that doesn't always happen. And Green Lantern is a 60 minute wait from right at the queue entrance.
Xcoaster
I went to the park for about 4 hours today, mainly to get my pass processed, and was able to ride most of the coasters (skipped GL, B:TR, Scream, Colossus, and Tatsu). It was pretty quiet, most coasters had waits of about 3 trains or less. For example, I rode X2 twice in a row, Apocalypse 3 times, and had a short wait for S:EFK (only the left side was open). Apocalypse was running great, lots of airtime during the first half of the ride (I did all my rides in the back row). I did front and back on X2, and both rides were pretty smooth, but the front in particular was very rerideable. I could just barely hear the audio on my first ride, so it's not entirely dead, but it's close to it. Fire was working on Apocalypse, but not on X2 (probably from the wind). Also, I had a relatively smooth ride on Revolution. Â I tried the unofficial single rider line method at Green Lantern, but got denied. It looked to have at least a 30-45 minute wait, so I passed on it. I also noticed that Viper and Revolution both now have single rider lines, in addition to the one at Riddler's Revenge. Granted, those two usually have some of the shortest waits in the park, so they're not the most useful coasters for it, but any little bit helps, especially if you get there on a day when it's packed. LaMapa
^Good! Glad to see a relatively early start on it! I am hoping that they will to tech rehearsals like they did last year with SEFK. Get a lot of rides in before opening.
kylexy2298
^^ Ok, thanks. It's a good thing they are starting construction some what early. But that probaly means it won't be open for WCB, which is ok since I have already rode it in the past. But it will be a bummer for the people who didn't get the credit yet.
