singemfrc
What time did you go on Riddler's? I just may be in that line. But it was ridiculously crowded. I went on viper at around 4 or 5 and it was about a 20 minute wait so it must have grown alot after I left, but the funny thing is, after we got of of Riddler's we seen a raccoon dash down the exit path! Anyone knows what a raccoon's doing in Six Flags? I went on Sunday, Viper's line wasnt long at all all of Sunday, 20 mins was probably the longest about the time you went on it, it was a walk-on after that. It was Saturday that it was out the queue and down the path. I was in line for Riddler's from about 7:15 to 8:25. I've heard all these reports about Magic Mountain running one train on Tatsu and Riddler's... why? Why in the world would the park do that when the lines are long? I mean - those ride ops just stand there and chat while the single train completes the circuit while people are waiting in 2 hour lines? To be fair and accurate they do run two trains on Tatsu, the complaint is that they never use the second station (and third train) even when the wait exceeds 2 hours. The Tatsu ride-ops did seem to be doing a decent job though on Sunday, they weren't sprinting but they weren't wasting any time. The Scream ops were the only other ones that got on my nerves just a bit..the op who was doing the dispatch was requiring people to sing along with "If you're happy and you know it" and if he didn't get the participation he wanted, he refused to dispatch the train until he did..even when the other train was stacked waiting to get into the station. He was playing a game trying to get people into it and all, I dont want to make it sound like he was being an ass or something, but Scream did have a decent line (by Scream standards anyway) of 15 or 20 minutes, so IMO as soon as that other train came in and stopped they should be dispatching as soon as it's safe. I'm making more of a deal out of it than it was though. Only Riddler's and Scream had ops that seemed to be underperforming, the X2 team was on the ball as usual and as I mentioned above I thought the Tatsu team was doing a good job as well. I never noticed how much time it took to load a flier until I paid attention to it. ^ Because the maintenance costs on the train are greater than the guest dissatisfaction from the added wait.I wouldn't think so..I don't think they'd be using the same one train all the time, I would think that even if they did, the wear and tear on that one train would just double creating the same amount of work (same amount of riders and cycles regardless). There has to be some other reason for Riddler's though, since it's just so egregious on that particular ride and it was been that way for so long. I got a pretty telling photo of the Riddler's ride ops that I almost posted, but I don't think it's necessary to smear any particular employee(s) it's always like that on that ride from what I hear. Between the slow loading, the disorganized que, the mechanical failures in the station (not the ride mechanics - sound, lighting, etc) and the general filth in the building, that ride is in serious need of a rehab closure. I really hope SFMM invests in it because it is a solid ride, especially for a stand up; it beats the hell out of Vortex that's for sure.
JJ728
Funny enough, this off season the one train they're running on Riddler's is train 3. Last year, train 3 was the one train that was running through the whole year as well. Hopefully train 2 will be in top notch shape after it gets out of rehab because it's spent two straight off seasons in maintenance.
thestripedtaco
^ Does Riddler's even have 3 trains anymore. I could have sworn that one of the trains was sent to Six Flags Great Adventure so that Green Lantern could have 3 trains.
CoasterGuy06
^That's correct. Riddler only has the two trains now. Maybe in a couple of seasons when the "newness" factor at SFGAdv wears off they can return the other train? You would think the year round park needs the third train more so they can always have two available year round.

Well it would allow Riddlers to run three trains all year instead of only part of the year so I would say SFMM would get a decent benefit out of it. Sir Clinksalot
Goldrusher, Ninja and old Revolution were always my favorite rides in the dark ... think there is a reason for that.
Crazy4Coasters!
Ninja at night is great! I gotta try Revolution and Goldrusher soon. I'm going for "Black Friday" with my youth group from church. I hope the crowds are too busy. Anyone gone to SFMM on "Black Friday"?
Sir Clinksalot
^ Is it an actual "church day" or are you just going with your church? If it's any kind of church day with concerts, etc those are generally among the busiest days of the year.
Crazy4Coasters!
No, it's just an outing with our local church hoping that "black friday" is a non-busy day at the park because of all the shopping craze that comes the day after Thanksgiving. I'm taking about 12 youth from our church because they haven't gone to SFMM in years.
Bolliger&Mabillard
^sounds fun but IIRC Black Friday does tend to be a busier day for amusement parks. Good luck

There's no possible way Riddler's would ever run three trains all year. You'd be very lucky to see 3-train op at any point in the year.
singemfrc
^ I would be elated if they would just run a second train when the line got longer than 30-40 mins.

I enjoy those rides in the dark and at night because they go through the hillside terrain. Scream and Tatsu are good rides as the sun is setting. Superman and Lex Luther are great at night. Bolliger&Mabillard
I've operated both Tatsu and Riddlers with three trains and as far as both go, you STILL need a crew of dedicated ops to justify the third train. I've been in rotation at Riddlers with three trains and only pulled 800 pph, and ive been in rotation and gotten over a grand with two. Same goes for Tatsu. You need a crew that actually cares about their job. I personally know Tatsu can run three trains with a full queue and that wait is only 30 minutes, but that ride hasn't had operators who can run it that way since 2007
singemfrc
^ LL is the only one I think would be better in the daytime (I rode it at night, it was down when we went by in the day) since you can better see how high up you are

The one labeled train number one was sent to New Jersey. Two is back in rehab for its second year, and train three is running all year again. Crazy4Coasters!
Five years huh... Well it would be nice to see it work more efficiently sooner than later, even if we have to wish for a crew that sincerly enjoys what they do. One can only hope!
