thrillseeker4552
Maybe I haven't kept up enough, but is there a pathway to get to Apocalypse with all the WCR construction? Are there even restrooms or services back there yet?
ryder
Based on what I've seen on visits about a week ago, I think the only path open there will be via Roaring Rapids. I doubt the path from Jet Stream will be ready. I have no idea about the bathrooms, but I'd suspect no.
zoda
Do they still have a Gold Pass early entry in 2019? Also, if you have a Gold Pass, do you get a discount on a flash pass if you buy in person? Lastly, if buying in person and you have a group of four, is it possible to buy multiple flash passes so one person doesn’t have to pay for everyone? Thanks. I have a Gold Season Pass. The flash pass discount is *drum roll* $5 off (in person). I’ve always gone alone, so I don’t know how group works, also I don’t really understand your last question. Kylis
According to the comments here https://queue-times.com/parks/32/calendar/2019/10 WCR is looking to open Nov 8th. Take that with a grain of salt but it is some info. Â
chschris1
TBH this is kinda sad at this point...I mean a coaster this size should have opened by now. I wish Six Flags put as much effort into their parks as Cedar Fair did. I feel like they have the infrastructure to really have fantastic parks, but they choose to be cheap and it really shows. Â Of course I will definitely go to Six Flags parks in the future but I believe they could really get a major return of investment by simply investing in the daily operations/look of their parks. It really is a shame to see bc we all know how much they could benefit from it and as guests we would benefit from it.
thrillseeker4552
Magic Mountain is open 365-days a year. I don't think opening a brand new coaster in the peak of summer is really necessary when they get just as crowded (if not even MORE crowded) during Fright Fest and Holiday in the Park. Â While of course I would have liked it to open this summer, it's kind of exciting to have something brand new to look forward to riding once my semester is over! Holiday in the Park is my favorite time to visit, and a brand new coaster will make it even better. But that's just me.
Manic Monte
^ Yeah... One of the unforseen benefits of SF incompetence is now I'll be able to ride WCR and Apocalypse in the fall/winter without the summer crowds and 100 degree temperatures. Â Sucks for them, a win for me!

Canobie Coaster
^ Good to hear about Apocalypse. I really liked that ride in 2014, but it was brutal the last time I rerode it.
joelwee
^ Good to hear about Apocalypse. I really liked that ride in 2014, but it was brutal the last time I rerode it. It ran really well after its last major retrack and was still running well when they closed it for West Coast Racers construction. I’m stoked that they opened it for Fright Fest. It’s one of my favorite night rides, especially during Fright Fest.   Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

coaster-mm
FYI: At the park now. Crowds are non-existing. Longest we waited was 10 min. for Tatsu, everything else was a walk-on. Rode every major coaster in 3 hours time. Btw: apocalypse is running great[emoji3]. Â Â Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk

coasterlvr
Fright Fest Opening Day 2019! Â SFMM was packed when I got there around 5pm. Parked way back in the gravel lot and cars were still coming in. Oh, and in Santa Clarita fashion, it was hot as hell too. Walked to the front gate for some exercise and still beat the bus. LOL Â Inside, we checked into the sports bar for some pre haunt treats. Â Â Some of the food. Strawberry milk/shake? Churro, Pork and Takis, Sriracha Hot AF Hot Wings, and a chocolate parfait. Â Â Monsters Unleashed is fun to watch. Â Â Next is a series of shots from inside and outside of the mazes. Again, when it comes to haunts, etc. in coaster dork talk, I'm as GP as they come. I enjoyed all the mazes. We did miss out on Vault 666 Unlocked though. All had some good scares, some missed, etc. Sure, the budget, and themes aren't as cool as Universal, but that doesn't mean Fright Fest isn't as fun. I actually had much more fun at Fright Fest than I did at HHN a couple days before. As a GP haunt guy, different things may make my time fun for me than the hard core haunt enthusiast. Â On to some pics... Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Something else that I haven't seen in a while is a hypnotist show. Back in the day, Magic Mountain used to have two shows a day in the small theater near the Batman stage. They were always hilarious. So, we checked out the one that will be there every Saturday thru November 2nd. Â Â Â I also really enjoyed watching and listening to the band at Voodoo Nights at the YOLO Plaza. Â Â Anyway, had an awesome time. Thanks to the SFMM team for a great event! Â Also, I didn't get a chance to ride Apocalypse. I don't trust a SFMM Fright Fest attendees enough to leave Robb's camera and mine somewhere while I ride stuff. LOL I'll maybe hit it up on a Friday day to see for myself how it's running. I've heard and read good, great, better than ever, decent, etc. etc. lol

I don't think opening a brand new coaster in the peak of summer is really necessary when they get just as crowded (if not even MORE crowded) during Fright Fest and Holiday in the Park. Maybe i'm old fashion but I think you should want your new attraction of the year open for your peak season. With other parks opening attractions I would personally go to the park with something new to do if I only have one time a year to go to a park. I know, we as enthusiast try to cut parks slack but to open your new for 2019 attraction when there is only like 50 days left in 2019 is kinda bad to me. Â I don't think anyone here disagrees with you. But it's done. At this point we're looking forward to riding it NOT in peak season, but when the park is dead. Â SFMM will just market WCR as a new ride all next year anyway, after I've already ridden it several times. Good times...
thrillseeker4552
And like I said, just because it isn't summer doesn't mean it's not peak season anymore. Magic Mountain gets slammed during Fright Fest and HITP. They reached capacity on December 30th last year, and they almost never reach capacity during the summer. Â When it comes to opening new rides at year-round parks, you have to shift your mindset a little bit. If this park was open through Halloween and would barely open their new ride by then, I totally get that. But you can visit this park any day of the year, so who cares if their new coaster opens in November? Â Silver Bullet and GhostRider both opened in December, for what it's worth. Â personally, i'm in no hurry for west coast racers. it can be december for all i care. i just hope it takes away from twisted colossus line. i'm guessing it will be a ride i ride if the line is short, ala yolo coaster. lol
Animal
Screamscape reported a possible rumor that tidal wave may be removed and the park could add a Mack power splash in its place as well as the green lanterns old spot. When I first heard about Aquaman going to Over Texas I thought that SFMM would replace green lantern with one. It makes more sense that tidal wave would have to be involved as well as it looks as though they do take up a large amount of space. I would be happy if this comes true as they look like a great water ride and SFMM could definitely use another one.
