  1. ^ it most certainly is! Thought I'd give all those want to know how I do this stuff a tease and show you a picture of what the water coaster looks like before I put it all together. There are a total of 13 different rides being used to make this one attraction.
  2. For an old... oops ancient guy Jeff sure does get around. Wonder how he's managed to keep all his teeth after all these millions of years? Park looks great so far and the safe *cough* mine train cars fit the ride nicely. What are they spiral coaster cars in a mine theme?
  3. Just how big is this parks layout going to be? I might be interested in donating to your park but I would want the fun of building the rides myself. Since you live in Indy they could be dropped off for you to ad to your park.
  4. Really liking the look of the rocks and water. The entrance building not so much, maybe it's the color or all the brick. I don't know, just ignore that. Need to see more to really make a judgement.
  5. What kind of speed are you getting on that mouse in the final few top level turns? The ride it self seems a bit tall for a mouse and the lack of block brakes make my think it might have a little to much speed. Is that a fountain being used as a sprinkler? If so NICE touch! Your park is really coming along. Great Job!
  6. I've been on the only 2 dive machines in the US and both are very repetitive. The newest and best one even more so than the first one. If it wasn't for the second immelman on Griffin there would be no difference at all. Shikra = steep lift, drop, immelman loop, brakes, drop, water & done. Griffin = steep lift, drop, immelman loop, brakes, drop, immelman loop, water & done. Yes it's true you could have made your coaster do something that the real one's don't do by that I mean different inversions but you didn't and that to me makes it a very realistic NL coaster. The real ones are VERY short and repetitive. Honestly I wish park in would build one like yours it is better than any currently built. As for the brakes, seem pretty realistic to me also.
  7. Really like the look of the spiral coaster. It fits in so well with area it is placed in. With that said what's up with the upside down horseshoe looking support on the shuttle loop? Never seen anything like that, it just seems odd to me. Just my opinion though.
  8. Have to agree the spiral coaster does seem a bit tall. Since the ride is named after Seek And Destroy why not try to bring it out of it's current foot print and have it interact with the surrounding area. Even an old coaster like this is suppose to be could have re-tracking done it to fit it's new theme.
  9. Like I said before seeing you build this park makes me want to did all my rides out of the closet and put them together. I have the older version of the Mouse Coaster, do you think it is worth the money to invest in the newer version? Great use of model railroad buildings in the park, looking forward on how you paint and detail them to fit into a theme park.
  10. What is that coaster on the lower right side of the big map picture? Any chance of seeing some pictures of it. Look very interesting from a distance. Hope you plan on sending this in to NE, btw what is the status of the coaster(s) you sent into them a while back. Sorry if you already posted about those, I must have missed it.
  11. Already have a version of this ride in my NL folder, can't wait to replace it with this!
  12. Missed this one, just went through all 4 pages and I must say your attention to detail is very impressive. So far your flume ride is my pick for best looking (realistic) ride in the park. Love the little spot of wicked looking grass and trees a few pictures up. Really fits in nice with the area.
  13. You sure did create a very nice landscape to put a park on, good luck with it.
  14. Those things absolutely freak me out, but still get on them even paid money to ride the small version at Mt Olympus.
  15. ^ Your request is the first picture below. Well the 2 day mass building event is almost over, all that's left to do is add the jungle around the last building(s) and do a few things outside the park in the same area. I decided to leave the jungle out of the pictures so you could really see what the buildings looked like before they were covered in trees. Some times I wish I would have gone with something different than a Pirate's Jungle Island theme. I need the foliage to be thick to look like the jungle it is supposed to be but once it's done you can't really see much of the buildings. Oh well, here's your chance to see the 4th building before the trees and for all those who view this in the next 10 seconds you get a bonus building... but wait THERES MORE! You also get a glance of one of the last 3 bridges in the park. Still not enough? Well how about this? If you promise to do some word of mouth advertising for the water park you also get to see the 90% finished entrance and exit to the Lazy River. Sorry about that, seen to many infomercials lately. Edit, added the finished product pictures of the 2 buildings. The skull that ends your ride on the river. From here the ride goes... oops not going to talk about that technical stuff. Anyway been playing around in the waters of the lazy river and managed to get whirlpools installed at various places along the route. Skull Caves, what a great way to start and end your journey on the lazy river. This skull is the where it begins. There is a small mountain between them with a water fall working it's way down to the river. Same building, just a back view. I have no idea what I am going to call this building. I totally forgot I needed one in this spot till a few hours ago. It has food and a restroom in it but it's main reason for being here is to hide a path that goes underground. Looking in from the water, all that's left to do is add the trees and bushes. In this and the previous pictures you see parts of the last completed bridge. ONLY 2 MORE TO GO! Continuing with the Pirate Village theme we now have a small sea port. More AE's animated senery is used here. In the map picture you can catch glimpses of the lazy rivers path through the park. There is only one. You can also see just how much I have left to do. The I don't know what to call it building and the bridge. Form the outside looking back into the park.
  16. ^ Unfortunately there is still no way around any of the games limits. Sorry. However there is a way to add and remove items such as rides that you end up not using and replace them with new items. You will need the ParkDat utility and the RCTDatPreviewer utility both can be found here... www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=51178&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=80 It's about the 7th post down. Be sure to READ before you use or you could really screw things up.
  17. Red Eye looks to be one fun surprising ride, you did a great job putting in and out of the landscape.
  18. Here is the 2nd senery update for today, this is the Buccaneer Inn located at the entrance to the Lazy River. Put in a few AE pirate animations on this one. The next will be the Drunken Parrot Tavern which will be located across both lanes of the Lazy River next to the Tavern Twist slides. Edit, Number 3. The tavern is done and as a special one time bonus the bridge next to is also finished. Once again AE's animated pirate theme objects were put in use. One more to go. What it's like to see it from outside the rear of the park. The inn looking from across the new bridge. Out back we have 4 pirates having a get together on a second floor balcony. The theme for the Lazy River's entrance and exit is almost done also, more on it later. AE's pirate chase is happening in two places at the front of the building, on the ground the pirate is being chased by the winch and up top it is the other way around.
  19. Sounds like it could be fun to play around with, can you put up some pictures of what the game is like and what you have been able to do in the game.
  20. Thanks everyone for all your support and confidence in this project and for the reality check from BelgianGuy. Thank you also nin for the info about not needing a logo. If the park is given over to NE I know it has many positives working for it, like being something they and everyone else has never seen before. By that I mean the park itself being fully functional from the parking lots and hotel to the most important part, the water park. It also has many negatives like being very flat, generic buildings and its from someone totally outside of the NE group of favorite park makers. One way or the other the park will be posted at NE either through just putting it out there in the forums or though submission. I really want to see what some of the really talented people over at NE could do with making their own "WORKING" water park and like I have stated before I don't understand why no one here, there or anywhere ever has made one. With the talent that is over at NE I am sure that someone could make one 100% better than what I have done and I am hopeful that maybe this park will inspire someone to do just that. Submission, if it wins (anything, I think) it will always be available to be seen by anyone at anytime because it will be part of their winners list archives. That would be the best chance for the park to be seen not just by current players but also future players who might be interested in making a working water park. Posting, yes I think it would have some real good attention for a week or so. Then like all posts it will die and fade away through the pages of the forums just like all parks that are posted in that way. Never to be seen again. That is something I really don't want to have happen. I really would like to see this park stick around for a while. Just something to think about. A few weeks ago a park took GOLD. All it had was a hotel, parking lots, water-slides and a beach. NONE OF THEM FUNCTIONED IN ANY WAY except it had hedge maze guests stuck in the sand jumping around looking like they were playing volleyball, and it took top prize. I have all of those things minus the volleyball and mine actually WORKS! As for the bowl, like I said in the post I wasn't able to get the error trappers to go away on the original design for the ride so I made it without hacking it. I also couldn't find any senery that would allow me to make a bowl in the shape it should have been. I am still looking into taking a few domes I have found and trying to flip them over in the object editor and put it on the ride. If I am successful the bowl portion of the ride will get a makeover allowing you to see in the bowl. As of now there really is nothing to see by taking the top off. Seeing the guests working their way down the bowl though the windows is really a neat effect (or at least I think it is). This is just another example of why I want to see what someone from NE could do with this kind of park. I bet it could be done better by someone with greater knowledge of hacking than I have. Like I said before THANKS for all your support for this project. Next up a working water coaster. ...also in the works a 6 lane racing slide and maybe a waveish pool. Edit, added 2 pictures of the newly completed suspension bridge in the soon to be Pirate Village area of the park. There will be a total of 4 new structures in this area the bridge being the first and they will be posted as each is completed. The suspension bridge is set to the pirate village theme which this area of the water park will be themed. There will be 3 more structures in this area. This area of the park is where the Lazy River starts and stops and the Chair Lift makes it only stop.
  21. Thanks for all the comments, sorry I haven't been around much lately. At this time I think I am going to hold off on answering the how did you do that questions. When I get the park done I will be more than happy to explain everything. Then again once you have the park in person you will most likely figure it all out on your own and at that point I would really hope to see some other working RCT2 water parks. Am still thinking about sending it in to NE, not really interested in winning anything but at the same time it would be neat to see what kind of comments the park would get and the best way to see the reactions would be me to just show up with it completely finished. Kind of like "PLOP" here is a working RCT2 water park. Enjoy. I will need a logo, anyone willing to make one for me? Anyway, here is the long time in coming update. 1/2 of the park is now done. The toilet bowl ride is compete but didn't turn out the way I had hoped. I just couldn't get past the "error trappers" so I did it without merging anything. Hope you like what you see. Btw I named it Yo Ho Flush. An over shot of the entire slide area. The next slide will be the WATER COASTER mentioned many pages ago! This is just another shot of the slide, at this point the rider is about to enter the bowl. One more turn and it's flush time. ...the completely enclosed bowl part of the ride. If you look closely you can see him in the bowl. The bowl was designed to allow you to see in and watch the action. There are windows on two sides. The other side of the tower, and you guest is starting his journey on the new slide. From here he will twist and drop though the trees till he hits... This is the entrance stairs/tower for the new slide. The back of the same building, the building is located near one the parks entry/exit points right off the parking lot on the west side of the hotel. This is the front of the newest building at Pirate Bay. It is a multi function building having an ATM, food and restroom inside.
  22. Finally a real animal zoo park in RCT2. Great start on it nin. So very looking forward to seeing how this turns out.
  23. Been a while since I have been around, your park is looking great! That video you posted was terrific. That new dive machine looks huge. What kind speed you kicking up with that ride? Looks like a very intense and fun ride.
  24. I've seen it posted many times in this thread and in various other threads about how many members want to make sure this site stays ad free. Honestly I wouldn't mind seeing ads on TPR. I would just hope they would only be theme park ads and were placed in a non intrusive way (no pop ups). Robb and Elissa put so much in to this site and I really think this would make them a little cash. They deserve it! I live in southern Ohio, the only parks I ever hear about are Kings Island and Cedar Point through TV, newspapers and Billboards. I know when one of these parks have something interesting going on or special promotions. It might be nice to see an ad posted here at TPR telling me about some Six Flag event or seeing ads from smaller parks like Holiday World and Indian Beach. In a way this site already has ads if you pay any attention to the events calendar. All those links to forum posts talking about events happening all over the world at parks. What would be wrong if Dollywood handed some cash to TPR and put up a real ad for their Smoky Mountain Christmas event. Hope this wasn't to off topic. I voted yes in the poll. Could see paying $40 to be a member to this site even though I have never been on one of the trips. Been a non paying member of this site for MANY years. I know my post count is very low for how long I've been a member here but that really doesn't show how much time I spend here. This is my most visited site. Love to read all the information found here and get a good laugh.
